Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2750: Chapter 1955: Big Business

Bai Xiaosheng sat speechless, staring at Mr. Leifer in front of him. They had just met for the first time, didn’t know each other well, yet he was already trying to pull him, a stranger, into making a fortune together.

That sounded somewhat exaggerated.

However, Bai Xiaosheng could see that Mr. Leifer was serious, not joking, and from the subtle details, he could discern that this person wasn’t a fraud.

Nowadays, some conmen disguise themselves as successful people, mingling among social elites, pretending to meet someone by chance. Whether bluffing or trying to make something out of nothing, their methods are numerous and hard to guard against, and many celebrities have been taken in.

It is difficult to see through a master conman, because they have refined their words, actions, and thoughts, making it challenging to differentiate between true and false.

But such situations wouldn’t occur with Bai Xiaosheng.

Given Bai Xiaosheng’s current status, he mainly interacted with real top figures. Having seen many ”genuine articles,” he could immediately spot ”fakes.”

His adversaries were also cunning geniuses, and despite his mental battles with them, he hadn’t lost—how could he be fooled by conmen?

Furthermore, Bai Xiaosheng climbed his way up from Affairs Officer, to Senior Affairs Officer, eventually becoming the number two in Zhenbei’s Group Headquarters Monitoring Department. He’s encountered every kind of intrigue you can imagine, and you could say he’s trained to deal with ”conmen.”

So, with one glance, Bai Xiaosheng could judge that Mr. Leifer was indeed a businessman, and from the pride and self-satisfaction in his eyebrows when talking about his family business, he concluded their business was likely not small—he was being quite modest.

As for why Mr. Leifer was so certain they could be business partners upon their chance meeting, perhaps he had a set of criteria for observation and judgment of his own.

Bai Xiaosheng hadn’t become so arrogant that he thought others couldn’t have a discerning eye like his.

”So, Mr. Leifer, what kind of business are you looking to collaborate on?” Bai Xiaosheng asked.

Leifer chuckled openly, not holding back, and straightforwardly said, ”Spice trade.”

Bai Xiaosheng was taken aback. What kind of collaboration was he expecting?

Just... spices?

Bai Xiaosheng privately owned quite a few companies, yet none specifically in this field. Even managing Zhenbei Group’s Greater China Region, choosing three or four companies solely dealing in spice trade from the hundreds under him would be hard.

”Mr. Bai, do you think this business is niche?”

Leifer, observing Bai Xiaosheng’s subtle expression, noticed this sentiment and responded with a cheerful grin.

”How could it be.”

Bai Xiaosheng shrugged and said, ”In world commercial history, Asian porcelain, silk, tea, and spices have always been hot commodities and strong players in trade. How could I think of the spice trade as niche? In Huaxia history, certain spices like pepper were more valuable than gold at times.”

”However, in today’s global integration, information connects swiftly. Where there’s demand, the world knows instantly, and transportation is more rapid and efficient than ever, eliminating seller’s markets more precious than gold. I’ve never dabbled in this sector, so entering recklessly isn’t appealing on a small scale, and I can’t compete with industry giants on a large scale.”

Bai Xiaosheng candidly said, ”Besides, I genuinely have little interest.”

At this point, Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”Furthermore, if seriously seeking partners, it doesn’t seem appropriate to just stumble upon someone like Mr. Leifer has done. Shouldn’t there be selection and investigation first?”

Leifer looked at this young Huaxia man speaking softly in front of him, with surprise and admiration in his eyes.

The feeling this person gave him grew stronger—he absolutely wasn’t ordinary!

”Selection? Investigation? That takes time, and I’m most short on time right now.” Leifer sighed.

Yet you spend half your day drinking a cup of coffee...

Bai Xiaosheng silently grumbled in his heart.

Leifer glanced side-to-side, then got up and moved to sit beside Bai Xiaosheng, smiling, ”Mr. Bai, I see you’re a smart person. You’ve got a saying in Huaxia, ’Don’t utter nonsense to the wise.’ So I’ll be straightforward.”

Bai Xiaosheng also wanted to hear what he wanted to say directly.

”Spices, kinds are countless, some are edible, some usable, from dishes to cosmetics, the applications are enormous.” Leifer stated.

”Just take Kustiel for example. You’ve tasted their dishes; are they delicious or not? Isn’t the flavor quite unique?”

”The local people add spices to dishes, with no less than three types for each dish, and for intricate cuisines, even ten types or more—isn’t that exaggerating? Indeed, it’s that exaggerated.”

”Aside from this, their specialty lipstick, specialty cosmetics, also require unique spices. You could say Kustiel is one of the countries in the world with a special fondness for spices.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded and murmured, ”From what I know, Asia has similar countries that like spices very much.”

Leifer continued, ”Not long ago, Kustiel suffered a unprecedented tsunami in a century, coincidentally destroying the warehouses of several spice factories. The market, once self-sufficient, faced huge disturbances, and I immediately controlled eighty percent of the country’s remaining spice resources. Of course, on the surface, no one knows this, nor would I announce it—that would be too antagonistic; you understand.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded, then suspiciously asked, ”Those spice factories can completely import to replenish, right?”
