Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2739: Chapter 1950: Unexpected

Upon hearing that Bai Xuanyu was going to send Bai Xiaosheng to the Sixth Business Division for support, aside from the Vice Chairmen, the attendees began whispering among themselves. Some were surprised, some shocked, and some remained impassive, evidently knowing beforehand.

However, upon further reflection, this decision actually had some reasoning.

After all, those holding the title of Business President have heaps of matters at hand, and no major district can function without the presence of the highest department head. Only Bai Xiaosheng, despite being at the level of Business President, holds deputy positions in two departments...

Since Bai Xuanyu brought up this matter now, Bai Xiaosheng naturally couldn’t remain silent. After gesturing, he questioned Bai Xuanyu—

”Mr. Bai, what identity should I assume for this support role?”

Bai Xiaosheng’s seemingly simple question carried a whole host of concerns.

They say two tigers cannot share one mountain.

With two Business President-level figures in the same district, who gets the final say in decision-making? Or do they consult each other?

If the two are in agreement, all is well. But if they disagree for an extended period without resolution, what then? Do they have to consult the Acting Chairman on every matter?

If the person sent might cause division, it doesn’t help the support effort and becomes a liability.

From another perspective.

If Bai Xiaosheng goes and adheres entirely to Margery, it equates to merely appointing another deputy. Sending anyone would have little value, perhaps even a lower-level person would fare better.

Monitoring how company funds are used is a task for specialized financial personnel.

Moreover, supervision would suggest distrust towards the Sixth Business Division, potentially harming morale.

If Bai Xiaosheng goes and Margery follows his lead, that’s equivalent to the Group being dissatisfied with Margery’s work, an invisible demotion of power, fostering distrust towards her and the department she oversees.

Such a move would not contribute to saving the current situation.

Bai Xiaosheng’s simple question encompassed many things.

Bai Xuanyu noticed the quiet whispers among attendees, realizing the underlying issues in Bai Xiaosheng’s question, and promptly nodded, ”Next, I will specifically answer your question and address your unspoken concerns.”

Bai Xiaosheng listened intently.

The attendees quieted down somewhat.

Bai Xuanyu said, ”Firstly, the work of the Sixth Business Division is highly accredited by the Group. The current situation is due to uncontrollable factors, and the Group has no dissatisfaction with their efforts.”

After expressing his stance, he continued, ”Secondly, the person sent for support is currently decided to be Mr. Bai Xiaosheng. In his case, if he goes, he will have the same final decision authority as Margery, but just over half of the district’s support tasks. So within half the district, he has the final say.”

”Aside from not intervening in overall affairs, he is responsible for ensuring the enterprises in his region quickly recover.”

”During this period, the funds utilized by the support person will be forty percent of the total Group allocated funds. After all, Miss Margery still handles general affairs, which might demand more funds.”

”This funding might not be sufficient to alleviate the severe situations of many enterprises, requiring the support person to find solutions independently.”

”Meanwhile, we hope that the supporter can secure their tasks without disruption.”

”The support time limit is temporarily set at one year, should the task not be completed, the duration will be extended.”

Bai Xuanyu’s words caused several attendees to secretly click their tongues.

This isn’t just unpleasant duty; it’s filled with complexities and offers no particular rewards or incentives.

Who would want to go!

Fortunately, it’s an appointed task, forcibly placed onto Bai Xiaosheng.

Thinking of this, some felt relieved, while others harbored a sense of schadenfreude.

Among the latter, Caroline stood out.

Caroline’s eyes showed traces of delight, occasionally glancing at Bai Xiaosheng.

Tasks like these offer no rewards if done well, but bring punishment if botched, who’s unlucky enough to be assigned!

The former Australian district was the backyard business of Vice Chairman Morgan’s family; Caroline’s family also had businesses there, secretly exploiting Group resources no less. Margery outwardly remained neutral, yet she was actually allied with them.

If Bai Xiaosheng dives into the Sixth Business Division, he’d fall within their grasp, making it easy to hinder him.

Caroline wasn’t worried that Bai Xiaosheng would uncover any concealed affairs there.

Currently, the range of the Sixth Business Division is vast; simply barring him from exploring the Australian parts and letting him run between the Pacific island nations would suffice.

At the moment, Caroline hoped Bai Xiaosheng would publicly refuse, or even rage, and ideally clash with Bai Xuanyu, embarrassing him publicly...

If Bai Xiaosheng isn’t foolish, isn’t one to be manipulated, he definitely won’t agree to the added task without first negotiating better terms.

Moreover, failing to negotiate with the Group beforehand would perfectly violate Bai Xuanyu’s personal taboo!

Perhaps soon, Bai Xuanyu would be enraged.

If Bai Xiaosheng provoked this sand-in-the-eye type of Acting Chairman, it’d make for quite a spectacle!

Caroline was itching for it, never before having such a craving for drama.

Just like her, Vice Chairman Morgan was leisurely sipping coffee on the side, also eyeing Bai Xiaosheng, eager to witness a delightful clash.

While those good with Bai Xiaosheng, Jiang Kuo, Soruns, and Brown, without prior agreement, also furrowed their brows.
