Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2707: Chapter 1935: Guests Arrive (Part 2)

Jim and Levante looked at each other in confusion.

”Lorna is Bai Xiaosheng’s friend. It’s not unusual for her to come here and stay for a few days. I asked Anlos to send someone to let me see Lorna first. Perhaps... there was a bit of a communication issue between him and me. So, he contacted Bai Xiaosheng to let me see Lorna.”

Maiyous’s calm and reasonable analysis made Levante and Jim feel it made perfect sense.

Anlos is still openly on friendly terms with Bai Xiaosheng, and we haven’t shown any hostility towards Bai Xiaosheng either.

Then what is there to be afraid of!

If we need to see Bai Xiaosheng, then let’s see him.

Maiyous suddenly became interested.

He had not yet met Bai Xiaosheng, and wanted to meet the young man who could become the Chieftain of Oshan at such a young age, and see what capabilities Bai Xiaosheng possessed!

Thinking of this, Maiyous maintained a composed demeanor, ”Stop overthinking, and don’t show anything. Just come with me to meet Bai Xiaosheng.”

Maiyous’s calmness affected both Levante and Jim.

The two of them nodded.

The ”Asian giant” in charge of greeting them was Lei Ying.

Seeing the trio having a whispered conversation, he stood at a distance, looking elsewhere, seemingly uninterested.

However, with Lei Ying’s keen hearing, which was beyond ordinary, he could vaguely hear some of what was being said, but outwardly acted as if he knew nothing.

As the trio approached, Lei Ying put on a light smile and went over to greet them, ”Mr. Maiyous, please come inside.”

Maiyous gave Lei Ying a deep look, nodded, and stepped inside.

Levante and Jim also received a nod and smile from Lei Ying and responded with forced smiles.

The group moved inside.

They passed through the square, walked through the front hall.

Maiyous examined the Walking Palace, nodding in admiration to himself.

This place must be the work of a master architect; every detail exudes sophistication. Even though his family could soon be considered the strongest family in Africa, they still didn’t have an estate that could compare.

Soon, they entered a large hall.

Two people were approaching them, a man and a woman.

The man was in front, smiling, and looked young. At first glance, with black hair and eyes, he appeared to be an ordinary Asian.

The woman was a mixed race, quite attractive, walking behind the man, looking at Maiyous with a somewhat complex expression.

”Father, that is Bai Xiaosheng, and the one behind him is Lorna,” Jim immediately said from behind Maiyous.

But really, there was no need for an introduction; Maiyous could identify Bai Xiaosheng’s identity.

Others might just see a smiling young man, but Maiyous saw his eyes as deep as an abyss and bright as stars. Only beings of the same caliber could perceive the exceptional aura about him.

Such a person is certainly no ordinary person!

As for Lorna, there’s no need for others’ comments; she looks too much like her mother!

There’s simply no possibility of mistaking her identity.

As they neared, Bai Xiaosheng, the host, proactively smiled at Maiyous, ”Mr. Maiyous, welcome. I am Bai Xiaosheng.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s English was fluent, even with a bit of a local accent, which was pleasing to Maiyous’s ear.

”Chief Bai Xiaosheng, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you.” Maiyous smiled.

As they spoke, they enthusiastically shook hands.

Beside them, Lorna looked at Maiyous with complex eyes but did not call him Father.

Maiyous glanced over, and Lorna only softly said, ”Mr. Maiyous.”

In front of Bai Xiaosheng, Maiyous did not show the slightest displeasure.

Especially as Lorna now possessed the value of marital alliance, which made Maiyous more tolerant.

Maiyous nodded to Lorna and softly said, ”You look a lot like your mother.”

With just a single sentence, Lorna lightly bit her lower lip with her teeth.

She really wanted to ask this man what her mother truly meant to him, and what she meant to him?

But in front of so many people, Lorna ultimately couldn’t say it out loud.

”Mr. Maiyous, please come inside,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile, inviting him in.

Maiyous smiled, nodded, and without looking at Lorna again, started walking inside.

”I asked Mr. Anlos to help arrange for me to meet my daughter, but unexpectedly, he directly sent people to bring me here. I hope it didn’t disturb you, Mr. Bai.”

Maiyous spoke while walking, the words being both polite and probing.

Maiyous also wanted to verify his own judgment.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled and said, ”Miss Lorna has been staying here these days. Mr. Anlos sent someone to pick her up, but she didn’t want to go back, so it was dropped. This time Mr. Anlos contacted me, saying you wish to see her. I suggested you come directly here, which is more convenient.”

Maiyous heard this and felt reassured, smiling, ”It’s just a little disturbance.”

”No disturbance, I really welcome your visit, Mr. Maiyous,” Bai Xiaosheng smiled and said, ”I am a very hospitable person and regularly hold gatherings. Today, it’s perfect timing for your visit, Mr. Maiyous. I invite you to have dinner with me, along with a few friends. I believe you will be pleased to meet them.”

Maiyous was intrigued, ”Oh, are they business people from Oshan?”

Bai Xiaosheng smiled mysteriously, ”You’ll know when they arrive, it’s a secret.”

Maiyous couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

This young chieftain is even selling a ruse to me.

As they walked and talked, Maiyous increasingly felt that this young man beside him was extraordinary, whether in speech or presence, absolutely remarkable. In comparison, his own offspring were far inferior.

No wonder he has become the chieftain of Oshan, gathering Anlos, Brady, and Hogson all together! Maiyous felt a sense of wonder.

If possible, Maiyous would love to form a good relationship with Bai Xiaosheng, perhaps even marrying one of his unmarried daughters into Bai Xiaosheng’s family.

Unfortunately, Bai Xiaosheng is now obstructing the Maiyous Family’s path!

The new ally of the Maiyous Family, Caroline, is irreconcilable with him!

What a pity!

Maiyous couldn’t help but sigh, also lamenting Bai Xiaosheng’s impending downfall in the future.

On the surface, however, he maintained composure, conversing jovially with Bai Xiaosheng.

As it was getting late, Bai Xiaosheng did not invite Maiyous to the sofa area, but rather sat directly by the dining table.

Apart from the host’s seat, Maiyous noticed that eight sets of tableware were arranged along the long table, four on each side.

With Bai Xiaosheng’s invitation, Jim also took a seat next to Maiyous.

As for the old butler Levante, he steadfastly refused to sit with the host.

Maiyous said let it be, and Bai Xiaosheng relented, having someone remove one set of tableware.

Under Bai Xiaosheng’s arrangement, Lorna also sat on the same side as Maiyous, though there was an empty seat between her and Jim, the spot meant for Levante.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled and said, ”The others will be here soon, they’re all friends, so I need not wait at the door. We can all be at ease.”

Maiyous smiled faintly and nodded slightly.

He was only seated here out of respect for Bai Xiaosheng; whether Bai Xiaosheng’s guests were worthy of sitting with him remained to be seen.

If their status is vastly inferior, Maiyous wouldn’t be giving face.

”I heard that Mr. Maiyous’s family is quite victorious in the East African business world. Let me offer you a toast first,” Bai Xiaosheng raised his glass and smiled at Maiyous.

Jim, sitting beside Maiyous, and Levante standing behind, immediately showed pride.

The Maiyous Family is in its heyday, now considered the strongest family on the entire continent!

”Chief Bai overpraises,” Maiyous also beamed with glory, clinking glasses with Bai Xiaosheng.

Just then, someone came to report.

Said the first guest had arrived.

Maiyous put down his cup, grinned faintly at Bai Xiaosheng, and said, ”Chief Bai’s guest must also be of remarkable status. What is the strength of their family? What business are they in?”

Implicitly, Maiyous wanted to see if the person was qualified to sit with him.

May Bai Xiaosheng’s first guest not be startled upon seeing him!

Levante and Jim also smiled proudly.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled gently and said, ”It’s alright, their family business... is truly not small.”

As he spoke, someone was already striding over.

The person hadn’t arrived, but the voice did, ”Has it started yet, am I the first?”

The voice was young, suggesting a young age; regardless of family background, how could a junior sit with Maiyous?

Maiyous glanced over nonchalantly, visibly a bit displeased.

Entering his view was a very young person, with dark skin, who upon seeing him, showed a smile, ”Oh, Mr. Maiyous is here too.”

Initially somewhat aloof, Maiyous recognized the person and was momentarily stunned, even sitting up straighter.

”Mr. Awak Wak Lakla!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s first guest turned out to be the son of Chief Ogade.

The future Supreme Chieftain of Oshan?!
