Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2724: Chapter 1943: You Liar

The three of them, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, had not expected that during a simple meal and rest stop in Luoen City, they would run into the very client their own company was planning to meet.

This really was one of those ”no coincidence, no story” situations.

The three also decided to stay and have a meal together.

Of course, in the end they had no intention of letting Mollya pick up the bill; that would really make them look like freeloaders. It wasn’t as if they couldn’t afford this meal, and they couldn’t afford to lose face like that.

Bai Xiaosheng also heard that Guo Yun from Shengsheng International was coming, and wanted to take the opportunity to talk to him face to face for a bit—ask about the company’s recent situation, ask about Zhengdong Province’s situation. It was a rare chance.

As for Mollya’s misunderstanding about the three of their identities, none of them took it to heart, and they didn’t clarify it on the spot.

Anyway, once Guo Yun and the others arrived, everyone’s identity would be perfectly clear.

Bai Xiaosheng’s status was far above that of just a vice president of Shengsheng International. By then, for Mollya, that could only be called a ”pleasant surprise”; there was no way she’d be upset about any supposed impersonation.

Having made up their minds, the three sat down at ease.

Mollya looked at Lin Weiwei, then at Lei Ying, with a hint of surprise in her eyes.

These attendants sitting at the same table as a superior, in such an important private setting—it felt a little inconceivable.

In any case, the people she had brought with her definitely could not sit at this table.

”Mr. Guo, may I ask who these two are?” Mollya asked with a smile, testing the waters.

Seeing what had caught Mollya’s attention, Bai Xiaosheng let out an ”oh,” glanced at Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, then smiled and said, ”They’re my right-hand man and woman, my dearest friends and family. Since this is a private occasion, I don’t think we need to be overly formal, do we?”

”Miss Mollya, do you find it inappropriate for us to sit down?” Lin Weiwei also asked with a smile.

”Of course not, you’re most welcome,” Mollya quickly said, waving her hand.

She had never met this Mr. Guo Yun before, nor dealt with him. Perhaps this was simply how he did things.

Since he didn’t mind, she couldn’t very well say anything, especially as she was counting on this conversation to bring some pleasant surprises.

Thinking this way, Mollya let it go.

”By the way, Mr. Chen Jieke... he didn’t come along with you?” Mollya asked probingly. ”I heard he’s your most capable assistant.”

Chen Jieke? Yet another new name.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled and said, ”Why, was he supposed to come? Or is it that Miss Mollya would like to invite him over?”

At that, Mollya laughed and waved her hands repeatedly. ”No, no, I was just asking casually. I’ve met that Mr. Chen twice before; you could say I’m relatively familiar with him, that’s all.”

Bai Xiaosheng gave Mollya a meaningful look.

”Relatively familiar,” or had she already given that man some private benefits?

For a last‑minute conversation like this, someone had to play the go‑between; perhaps on Guo Yun’s side that person was this Chen Jieke.

To avoid awkwardness, Mollya directly instructed her staff, ”Serve the dishes. It’s getting late, and I imagine our guests are hungry. Let’s eat and talk at the same time. Oh, and have them bring those two bottles of Romanee-Conti that have been breathing.”

The person beside Mollya nodded at once and went to see it done without a word.

Turning back, Mollya smiled at the three of them and said, ”I’m truly sorry, there’s no very good baijiu here, but there are two bottles of red wine aged several decades. I had them opened in advance. Let’s have some red wine, shall we?”

Discussing cooperation over drinks?

They hadn’t expected this woman to understand wine‑table culture so well.

And she had directly opened decades‑old Romanee-Conti. It had to be some of the finest wine in a Michelin three‑star restaurant like this—definitely not cheap.

You couldn’t say she wasn’t willing to spend.

The three of them, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, could also see that in this meeting, their side likely held the initiative; otherwise the other party wouldn’t be going this far.

Since that was the case, they might as well sit back and enjoy the fine wine.

”Red wine is great; let’s go with red,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

Very soon, the wine was brought up, and the dishes were set on the table.

Under Mollya’s insistence, the three of them tasted the wine first, all nodding in approval.

The wine truly was excellent; even in Chief Ogade’s wine cellar at the Walking Palace, it would rank among the best batch.

Experts see the craft. Watching their professional-level tasting posture and their expressions—appreciative of the wine yet not overly astonished—Mollya knew they were connoisseurs.

To remain so composed before such a fine wine, one needed wealth, status, and position at a certain level to have that kind of poise.

Mollya raised her glass, clinked with Bai Xiaosheng, took a sip, then set it down and used her silver knife and fork to sample the appetizer with elegance. She chewed one bite for quite a while before swallowing, and after that single bite, she didn’t touch that dish again.

This was also for the sake of maintaining her figure.

However, the time it took Mollya to eat that one bite was enough for the three of them to calmly finish an entire dish.

At the door, one of Mollya’s people opened it at just the right moment, allowing the restaurant waiters outside to come in, clear away the plates, and bring in the main course.

Taking advantage of this, Mollya smiled and said to Bai Xiaosheng, ”Mr. Guo, our MMD Group is truly very sincere about cooperating with your Shengsheng International, and we’ve always been looking forward to a higher‑level meeting. This time, as I was passing through Luoen City, I heard you were here, so I contacted you right away, thinking we could have a meal together, talk a bit, and deepen the relationship between both sides.”

Bai Xiaosheng listened and nodded.

At this point, as if something had just occurred to her, Mollya smiled and asked, ”I remember when we rushed over from the airport, how was it that we saw you on the same subway line?”

This struck Mollya as a bit odd.

Weren’t they already in Luoen City? Why were they coming from the direction of the airport?

Bai Xiaosheng said calmly, ”We’ll be leaving Luoen City before long, heading to North America.”

”Is that so?” Mollya said in surprise. ”You’re going to North America as well?”
