Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2740: Chapter 1950: Unexpected Outcome (Part 2)

They wanted to speak up for Bai Xiaosheng, but feared it would inadvertently anger Bai Xuanyu, and also worried that Bai Xiaosheng might not hold back from erupting.

Whichever way it goes, it would be extremely unfavorable!

However, before they could speak up, someone already did.

”For this matter, Bai Xiaosheng may not be the only suitable choice. I think it’s better not to assign directly but let everyone express their opinions first.”

Just as Bai Xuanyu finished speaking and looked at Bai Xiaosheng, and before Bai Xiaosheng could speak, Lu Cheng’an aptly spoke up.

”Yes, every job requires people, and Bai Xiaosheng is already very busy overseeing two departments.” Li Yunyuan also spoke in a deep supportive voice.

”The two vice-chairmen have a point.”

”Yes, this matter needs to be deliberated at length.”

”I think we could do an open election.”

Jiang Kuo, Soruns, and Brown took the opportunity to voice their opinions.

Seeing this, Bai Xuanyu calmly said, ”What the two vice-chairmen said is reasonable, so let’s now discuss the candidate issue.”

”In my opinion, our Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, over the past year, has not been difficult to disengage from his primary duties. He served as a chieftain in Africa for a year, and what does that show? It shows he has rich experience in remote working and the ability to multitask and handle another workload. The more capable should do more, I personally feel he is the best candidate.” Vice Chairman Morgan placed down his teacup and said.

”Mr. Morgan is right, our group has talents like Bai Xiaosheng, and we need to give them more responsibilities to help them grow.” Another vice-chairman said.

”We believe Mr. Bai Xiaosheng can do it well.”

”Just like what he accomplished at Oshan, can’t he multitask? Is it not possible now?”

Including Caroline, several people also voiced their opinions.

With this, except for a few remaining neutral, the meeting immediately divided into two factions.

”What the two vice-chairmen said also makes sense.” Bai Xuanyu nodded slightly and then turned to Bai Xiaosheng, ”So Bai Xiaosheng, what do you think?”

To take on the role, or not to take on the role.

In an instant, all attention shifted to Bai Xiaosheng.

Whether it was Lu Cheng’an, Li Yunyuan, Morgan, Jiang Kuo, Soruns, Brown, or Caroline, they were all secretly preparing their statements.

As soon as Bai Xiaosheng expressed his position, whether in support or opposition, both sides would immediately start arguing.

Bai Xuanyu narrowed his eyes slightly, watching Bai Xiaosheng for his response.

If this man deferred, played coy, or stalled, then he would have to insist that Bai Xiaosheng has to go, come what may!

Wen Yan had not spoken since the beginning.

He understood Bai Xuanyu’s personality well, and with Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan, the two vice-chairmen, already expressing their views, it was enough. If he intervened, it would only backfire.

He was waiting, waiting for the right moment to express an appropriate attitude.

To create as much room to maneuver while also assisting Bai Xiaosheng.

Sitting across from Bai Xiaosheng, Miss Margery also remained silent, quietly watching Bai Xiaosheng.

She had heard many malicious stories about this man from Caroline, as well as exaggerated tales about him from others.

At this moment, the highest meeting of the group was practically divided into two factions over him, which piqued her curiosity about this young man, wanting to see how he would handle the situation.

It could be said that at this moment, even before Bai Xiaosheng spoke, he had already captured everyone’s ”attention.”

”This is a difficult task,” Bai Xiaosheng sighed and said.

What Bai Xiaosheng was referring to was not just Bai Xuanyu’s assignment but also the promotion task given to him by Red Lotus.

”I am willing to do my best to complete it!”

The next second, Bai Xiaosheng, with a fearless stance, declared without hesitation.

With just two sentences, a potentially eruptive debate was stopped before it could start.

Everyone looked at Bai Xiaosheng with varying degrees of surprise, each feeling different emotions.

No one expected that Bai Xiaosheng would agree so easily.

Without any complaints or demands for more conditions.

Vice Chairman Morgan and Caroline were instantly somewhat disappointed, yet they took a certain schadenfreude in the troubles that would immediately come Bai Xiaosheng’s way.

However, the schadenfreude was somewhat subdued, having lost its flavor due to the disappointment.

Sitting across from Bai Xiaosheng, Miss Margery shook her head quietly.

She had heard too many comments about Bai Xiaosheng being rebellious and cunning, and seeing him being so lacking in assertiveness with so many supporters, she felt somewhat let down.

It seems people do change; this Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, after serving as chieftain for a year, has realized he cannot oppose those in higher positions.

Such a person should be easy to deal with...

Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan were also very surprised, but they both had a genuine sense of admiration for Bai Xiaosheng’s selfless acceptance of company responsibilities without setting conditions.

They hadn’t misjudged him!

Jiang Kuo, Soruns, and Brown were taken aback and also sighed secretly, choosing to respect Bai Xiaosheng’s decision.

Nonetheless, they all felt that, sacrificing personal interests aside, Bai Xiaosheng’s decision was indeed commendable.

Wen Yan watched Bai Xiaosheng silently, believing that Bai Xiaosheng’s decision surely had its own considerations.

If that’s the case, then the best option is to trust Bai Xiaosheng.

”Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, you agreed... don’t you have anything else to say?” Even Bai Xuanyu couldn’t help but ask.

”No.”

With just two words, Bai Xiaosheng rendered Bai Xuanyu speechless for several seconds.

”Good, very good.” In front of everyone, Bai Xuanyu praised Bai Xiaosheng, ”Our group needs high-level members like Mr. Bai Xiaosheng who are not afraid of challenges, do not set conditions, and are willing to contribute. This is our group’s fortune. In the future, the group will never let those who are willing to contribute be let down.”

Bai Xuanyu’s words were much like the grand promises sometimes made by the heads of small enterprises.

Many present immediately voiced their agreement and began to praise Bai Xiaosheng.

Whether genuinely or falsely, one could not tell.

”Now, this meeting is concluded, you may all take your leave. Mr. Bai Xiaosheng and Miss Margery, please stay behind,” Bai Xuanyu said.

The meeting adjourned, with everyone leaving with their own thoughts.

In the end, only Bai Xiaosheng, Bai Xuanyu, and Miss Margery remained in the vast office.

”On behalf of the Sixth Business Division, I would like to thank Mr. Bai Xiaosheng for joining our work,” Miss Margery said with a smile, extending her hand.

”It’s my duty,” Bai Xiaosheng smiled and reached out to shake her hand.

Bai Xuanyu watched the two finish talking before saying, ”In the coming year, the group will rely on the combined efforts of you both.”

”Miss Margery,” Bai Xuanyu turned to Margery and said, ”Next, please explain the situation on your side and delineate some areas for Mr. Bai Xiaosheng to be responsible for.”

Margery slightly bowed her head in nod and then operated some buttons on the console before her desk.

The equipment and facilities in this office were quite familiar to her as a veteran.

Bai Xiaosheng watched in amazement as a huge three-dimensional projection of the earth rose from the center of the round table.

Margery pulled out a hidden drawer under the desk.

Each seat had one, containing a special set of gloves. Once worn, they allowed you to manipulate the 3D map ”barehanded.”

Bai Xiaosheng watched in amazement as Margery operated it, the Australasia region of the earth’s projection enlarged into a map showing the business scope of the Sixth Business Division.

”In the countries I’ve marked in red, they’ve just been hit by a tsunami. Here, the port we invested in has been severely damaged, with seventy percent of the project destroyed, but once the port is completed, the business opportunities over the next fifty years are promising. Similarly here, the tsunami has also struck, however, the damage was on a significant mining company of ours, extracting seabed oil...”

As Margery described the situation, Bai Xiaosheng made a mental note of everything.

In actuality, Red Lotus was also mapping out a similar model in his mind.

After detailing the situation, Margery then said, ”I have marked some island countries in red, and these are the areas Mr. Bai Xiaosheng will be responsible for. Later, I will send you the list...”

Bai Xuanyu listened calmly to Margery throughout.

Once Miss Margery had finished speaking, Bai Xuanyu looked at Bai Xiaosheng and said, ”That’s the situation, for more detailed content, you two can communicate privately.”

”The situation is urgent, it is still imperative for you two to set off as soon as possible!”
