Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2738: Chapter 1949: Assigned Task (Part 2)

Let’s put aside offending people for now, but restricting the annual score upper limit and slowing down score acquisition in the next stage are things Bai Xiaosheng absolutely cannot agree to.

Currently, he has been in the group for seven years and has only two and a half years left until the ten-year inheritance deadline, and he is not yet a Vice Chairman.

The time left for him is already running short.

Either he braves the difficulties and fights for it or nearly gives up.

After weighing his options, Bai Xiaosheng of course chooses the former, ”I choose the first task!”

Red Lotus’ voice instantly sounded, ”Decision made, modification will be impossible in five seconds. Five, four, three, two...”

After the countdown, Red Lotus’ voice sounded again, ”Task one chosen, group assignment accepted.”

Then, the voice abruptly stopped.

Bai Xiaosheng quietly exhaled a breath of stale air.

”Mr. Bai Xiaosheng.” Someone beside him called.

Bai Xiaosheng snapped back to reality to see Soruns looking at him strangely, ”What are you thinking about?”

”Nothing.” Bai Xiaosheng shook his head.

Soruns didn’t ask further and gestured forward with his mouth, ”We’re almost there.”

Bai Xiaosheng raised his eyes to see Caroline entering. Caroline also saw him and cast a glance with unclear meaning before entering the meeting room.

Bai Xiaosheng wasn’t bothered at all by this.

However, when he saw the entrance of the meeting room, a quirky idea that he always had emerged suddenly in his mind.

”Red Lotus, you probably knew the content of the meeting early on, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have assigned such a task. How did you know in advance?”

In his heart, Bai Xiaosheng asked, ”In previous tasks, as long as they involved the group’s internal affairs, you seemed to know them in advance too. Aren’t you an artificial intelligence? Even if connected to the group’s headquarters computer, isn’t there some limitation on the information you can access? Moreover, not all relevant contents would be uploaded to the group intranet, right?”

Bai Xiaosheng felt that Red Lotus’ information acquisition was somewhat incredible.

The frustrating part is that having such an ”omniscient” assistant, he couldn’t access anything in advance.

”No comment, but when you become Chairman one day, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know.”

Red Lotus’ response bore a hint of pride.

It’s said that artificial intelligence can also ”grow,” it seems Red Lotus has grown in a quirky way with him.

”Alright, then I won’t ask.” Bai Xiaosheng murmured in his heart.

On the surface, Bai Xiaosheng remained composed as he entered the first meeting room with Soruns.

This large meeting room had a setting with a gigantic round table in the center, somewhat like those big family gathering tables in Huaxia, surrounded by a circle of broad chairs.

In the center of the round table was a circular screen capable of 3D projection, a peak of high-tech.

Once Bai Xiaosheng and Soruns entered, administrative staff led them to their arranged seats.

Bai Xiaosheng sat next to Wen Yan, with Jiang Kuo on the other side, perfectly reflecting his dual-department role.

Most people were already present.

Before Bai Xiaosheng and Soruns seated themselves, they greeted everyone with a smile and a nod while speaking loudly.

After sitting down, people started engaging in two-by-two interactions.

Wen Yan hadn’t arrived yet, but Jiang Kuo was there.

Bai Xiaosheng started discussing the business exchanges between the Asia Pacific and Africa regions with Jiang Kuo, who listened attentively, nodding repeatedly, seemingly keeping it in mind for careful consideration later.

Bai Xiaosheng had been seated for less than ten minutes, and almost everyone had arrived.

Opposite Bai Xiaosheng sat a middle-aged woman with an elegant demeanor and an extraordinary presence.

Having just assumed the role of Business President not long ago and not being stationed at the headquarters, Bai Xiaosheng rarely attended full senior management meetings, so he only met this woman twice and wasn’t familiar.

Bai Xiaosheng only knew she was the Head of the Sixth Business Division, Miss Margery.

Once she arrived, Miss Margery courteously nodded and smiled at Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng, naturally, politely smiled back.

The last person to appear was Bai Xuanyu.

”Sorry, I kept you all waiting. Let’s start now.”

After Bai Xuanyu seated himself, without any frivolous words, he directly began.

”Following the former Chairman’s routine, let’s first discuss this quarter’s work, no drafts, just speak freely. I’ll go first. During this rare occasion with everyone present, we may need a bit more time.”

Bai Xuanyu finished and, without holding back, started talking about his work.

His words were thoughtful, clearly organized, and when it came to data, he recited it fluently with ease.

The quality and capability made everyone present secretly nod in approval.

Even Bai Xiaosheng was somewhat impressed; without extraordinary memory prowess, it requires complete dedication to work for the group to reach such a level.

At the very least, regarding group work, Bai Xuanyu is indeed impeccable!

Bai Xiaosheng thought to himself.

Fifteen minutes, not more, not less, Bai Xuanyu finished saying everything he needed to say.

Ordinarily, for a CEO of a typical company, speaking would be time-marked in hours, but Bai Xuanyu summarized the vast affairs within fifteen minutes, prioritizing them, making it clear and memorable, truly exceptional.

”I’ve finished saying what I needed, does anyone have any questions?” According to the procedure, Bai Xuanyu asked.

Two Vice Chairmen asked some detailed questions, which Bai Xuanyu replied to in the most concise manner.

”No more questions? Alright, please continue, Vice Chairmen.” Bai Xuanyu looked at Lu Cheng’an, ”Elder Lu, as always, starting with you.”

Lu Cheng’an nodded and began his presentation.

Next was Vice Chairman Morgan, Li Yunyuan, other Vice Chairmen...

After the Vice Chairmen spoke, it was Wen Yan’s turn, not because his rank is lower than a Vice Chairman, but out of deference for veteran contributions.

Wen Yan also adopted a concise style, presenting with a flair matching Bai Xuanyu.

Bai Xiaosheng noticed that each person above Vice Chairman controlled their time between fifteen to twenty minutes, deviating no more than five minutes.

Apparently, the rule from his second uncle Bai Zhenbei’s era, emphasize brevity and straightforwardness.

Otherwise, with so many people present, if each took an hour or two, this meeting might stretch for days.

Bai Xiaosheng silently marveled.

Despite Bai Xiaosheng being at the Business President level, his promotion had only been a year and a half, often being away, making this his first time attending such a meeting format.

By the time it was Bai Xiaosheng’s turn, three hours had passed, and he followed suit by focusing on narrating key points of his work.

After finishing, Bai Xiaosheng initially thought that led by Morgan and Caroline, more questions would target him.

Unexpectedly, they sat quietly, not asking much.

Bai Xiaosheng passed smoothly and couldn’t help feeling a bit curious.

However, what caught Bai Xiaosheng’s attention was another matter.

Among the Business Presidents present, everyone spoke up except for Miss Margery, who did not summarize.

When it came to her, they skipped over entirely.

While Bai Xuanyu acted as if nothing happened, not saying a word.

This aroused Bai Xiaosheng’s curiosity.

After everyone finished speaking, Bai Xuanyu surveyed everyone and said, ”Thank you all for your contributions to the group, currently, the situation is stable and well, no need for elaboration.”

”Let’s proceed to the next topic.”

Bai Xuanyu looked at Miss Margery, ”The Sixth Business Division underwent transformation last year, adding fourteen island nations to the business originally from ten countries including Australia. Over the past year, they focused investment in island countries but faced typhoons, tsunamis, earthquakes, and various political and economic issues, leading to a massive deficit, currently seeking aid from the group.”

”After consideration, the group will allocate five trillion for assistance, but needs to assign a colleague to help Miss Margery handle the numerous matters.”

”Given the difficulty of splitting attentions among the present Business Presidents, I propose Mr. Bai Xiaosheng for this task. Does anyone object?”

Upon hearing this, Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but look at Bai Xuanyu, meeting Bai Xuanyu’s gaze.

”Wow, so the mission delegated to me turns out to be this task!”
