Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2726: Chapter 1944: Encountering the ”Swindlers” Again

Bai Xiaosheng and the other two left the restaurant’s private room and originally planned that if they met Mollya or Chen Jieke again, they would first tell them to confirm their identities by phone.

They are not scammers!

However, after going out, they couldn’t find any trace of those two, not even the bodyguard who had rolled and crawled out earlier.

In the distance, the restaurant manager and the waiters were watching the three with fearful eyes, while diners pointed and whispered among themselves.

This scene also made Bai Xiaosheng and the others abandon their thoughts of explaining.

It’s better to deal with the immediate trouble first.

Bai Xiaosheng whispered to Lin Weiwei for a while. Lin Weiwei nodded and walked directly to the restaurant manager, taking out a check to give to him.

She didn’t know how much the big meal just now cost, plus a bottle of decades-old good wine, and some things in the private room were broken.

The check that Lin Weiwei handed over had a generous amount, fifty thousand US dollars.

”Mr. Manager, there was a small misunderstanding inside just now, and we accidentally broke some things in the restaurant. This is for the meal, and the extra is for the compensation. Anything left over can be considered a tip.”

Lin Weiwei politely handed the check to the restaurant manager.

The restaurant manager was initially wary of the three, but seeing Lin Weiwei being so polite, he hesitantly accepted the check, glanced at the amount, and was stunned.

Fifty thousand US dollars? That much!

After confirming that the check was correct, the manager immediately straightened his attire, smiled at Lin Weiwei, and greeted Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying who had arrived, bowing, ”Thank you three for visiting. Our restaurant is delighted to serve you and hopes you come again.”

Bai Xiaosheng also smiled and nodded at the manager, then led Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying out of the restaurant.

The restaurant manager watched the three leave and then quickly asked the person next to him, ”Did you call the police?”

The person quickly nodded.

The restaurant manager was a bit annoyed, ”Why did you call the police? Look, do they seem like bad people? Big patrons! Bringing trouble to these distinguished guests, will they come next time?”

The person next to him was speechless.

It was you who told us to call the police...

At this moment, a patrol car stopped at the restaurant entrance, and two fully armed officers quickly got out and walked in.

This bustling street area is well-policed; officers arrive within minutes.

The restaurant manager hurried to welcome them.

”Was there a disturbance here?” One officer asked politely, sweeping his eyes around.

”Just two drunk vagrants, they’ve already left.” The restaurant manager said with a smile, ”Thank you for arriving so promptly. Here are some discount coupons from our restaurant. We hope you can bring your family to enjoy them sometime.”

...

After sending off the patrol officers, Mollya and Chen Jieke peeked out from another private room and only came forward after seeing Bai Xiaosheng and the others were gone.

The bodyguards who Lei Ying had dealt with also emerged from various corners, cautiously following the two, still vigilantly surveying the surroundings.

Initially, these people weren’t like this.

But in the private room, Lei Ying, who was as tall as half an iron tower, showed great power, treating four well-trained men like chickens, startling everyone, including Mollya and Chen Jieke.

The three were already pegged as scammers, and in their eyes, scammers and robbers weren’t much different; they were both bad people.

The ”elevation” from scammer to robber had them worried about any extreme actions towards them, and emergency avoidance was only natural...

These people only dared to show up now.

The restaurant manager quickly got to Mollya and Chen Jieke.

Without the manager speaking, Chen Jieke was the first to speak, ”Where did those people go, have they left? Did the police come?”

The restaurant manager quickly smiled, ”Dear guests, those people have left. The police have been here, and I’m sure they’ll handle this matter well.”

He didn’t say how it would be handled.

Only then did Chen Jieke relax, and Mollya also exhaled a breath.

”Everything broken will be on my tab.” Mollya hastily left a sentence to the restaurant manager and then signaled Chen Jieke, ”Mr. Chen, please follow me; I have a couple of words to say to you.”

Chen Jieke understood and followed Mollya.

The restaurant manager blinked behind them, turned back to the front desk to calculate the losses.

The customer is king, and the king’s demands must be obeyed...

In the private room, Mollya and Chen Jieke closed the door to talk.

Mollya’s expression was unfriendly, frowning before she spoke.

”Mr. Chen, what’s going on? It’s fine if you’ve just arrived, but why didn’t you call ahead when troubles arose, letting those three scammers make a fool of us!” Mollya sternly reprimanded in a low voice.

Despite his boldness in public, Chen Jieke dared not argue with Mollya in private.

After all, once he took the first benefit from Mollya’s side, she held power over him.

Moreover, he wanted to get an American green card through Mollya, naturally needing to be deferential.

Chen Jieke immediately forced a smile, ”Miss Mollya, listen to my explanation. This matter is actually beyond my control. I’ve been accompanying Mr. Guo in conversation with the mayor, and couldn’t leave, not even to send a message. And I didn’t expect such a situation here; I thought I’d come explain personally, as a sign of respect to you.”

Mollya showed no appreciation for this and frowned, ”So what now, Mr. Guo Yun won’t be seeing us today?”

Chen Jieke also knew Mollya’s flight delays gave her limited time to wait, so he smiled bitterly and nodded, ”Plans never keep up with changes, but rest assured, I will notify you of any updates.”
