Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2727: Chapter 1944: Reunion with the ”Con Artist” (Part 2)

Mollya snorted coldly. ”With the strength of my family, we absolutely don’t need to take the initiative like this toward some mere Huaxia company. I’m only doing it because I need some achievements to grab control of the MMD Group, hmph!”

Chen Jieke hurriedly nodded and agreed.

He knew what kind of background Mollya had. Just the family behind her was already famous and powerful. In his eyes, Shengsheng International was far inferior to them.

Mollya glanced at Chen Jieke, a half-smile on her face. ”Mr. Chen, I suddenly feel like that green card you want might be a bit too easy to get.”

That stunned Chen Jieke for a second. He quickly laughed. ”Miss Mollya, what... do you mean by that?!”

”What I want now isn’t intel on your top management’s movements, but your company’s bottom price.” Mollya said bluntly.

Chen Jieke could only give a bitter smile. ”That... that’s tough. Only Zhengdong Province and Guo Yun know it. They’ve never told me. I tried asking twice and didn’t get an answer. I’m afraid if I keep asking...”

”That’s your problem, Mr. Chen. I hope by this time next month I’ll hear good news from you.” Mollya’s lips curled into a smile. ”By then, I imagine your green card will already be processed.”

At the mention of the green card, Chen Jieke’s eyes lit up.

”Alright, I should head to the airport. Damn it, can’t believe I let a bunch of Huaxia con artists play me!” Mollya spat, then strode straight toward the door.

Seeing that, Chen Jieke rushed over, eagerly pulling open the private room door for Mollya.

Mollya didn’t react much to this. She walked outside, called to her people, and left.

At that moment, her assistant was at the restaurant front desk, already settling the bill.

The restaurant manager stood by with a broad smile.

He’d always been respectful to such generous customers. It’s just that their spending still couldn’t compare to the three people from before.

Chen Jieke escorted Mollya and her group all the way out of the restaurant, watching as they got into a taxi and left. Only then did his smile collapse, and he let out a depressed breath.

”This foreign old hag is fucking annoying!” Chen Jieke spat, heading straight for the parking lot.

But before he got there, his phone rang.

He took out his phone, and his expression changed instantly. The caller was none other than Shengsheng International’s Vice President, Guo Yun.

”Hello, President Guo, I’m heading back right now.” Chen Jieke said with a smile.

But what came through the phone was a voice that wasn’t at all gentle. ”Chen Jieke, you don’t need to come back.”

”Huh?” Chen Jieke froze, then laughed. ”You have some other arrangement for me?”

”You’ve already been fired, effective immediately. Once you’re back in the country, you are to cooperate with the public security authorities on an investigation into leaking commercial secrets.” Guo Yun’s voice on the other end was low. ”Also, news of your dismissal will be posted on the website this afternoon and circulated to our partners...”

Hearing this, Chen Jieke was completely dumbfounded. ”P- President Guo, what do you mean, what did I do, hello, hello...”

The call on the other end had already been cut off.

Chen Jieke stood there, his face as white as paper.

Given the stuff he’d been doing behind the scenes, one investigation and they’d nail him. America? Green card?

He’d be lucky just to get a spot in prison.

How did it come to this, why did it suddenly...

He couldn’t figure it out if you killed him.

And he’d never imagine that the person he’d just offended in that private room was actually his behind-the-scenes big boss.

You could only say, this was fate...

Chances are, Mollya herself hadn’t expected that right after she threatened this Chen Jieke, the chess piece would be ruined. If she knew, she’d surely be depressed too...

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng and his group had already arrived at the airport.

On the way, Lin Weiwei called Guo Yun.

Once Guo Yun heard everything, he was both shocked and frightened. He’d never expected that the Chen Jieke beside him was secretly in contact with a foreign company, exposing his own itinerary, and he himself knew nothing. Really a case of poor judgment.

He figured that later, that kid Chen Jieke would’ve told him it was a coincidence running into Mollya, saying she wanted to seize the chance to talk to him.

He definitely wouldn’t have thought much of it.

Who could’ve imagined that all of it would be caught by the group’s behind-the-scenes Mr. Bai. If that’s not heaven’s will, what is?

On the phone, Guo Yun said he’d make sure to handle the matter properly.

At the same time, he wanted to pay a visit to Bai Xiaosheng. After learning that Bai Xiaosheng and the others were about to catch a flight out, he felt quite regretful.

Once he hung up with Lin Weiwei, Guo Yun called Zhengdong Province directly and told him everything.

With Shengsheng International’s number one and number two in sync, the arrangements for Chen Jieke were all set...

After hearing that Bai Xiaosheng was in Luoen City, Zhengdong Province even gave Bai Xiaosheng a call.

On work matters, Zhengdong Province didn’t say a single word. First thing out of his mouth was to roast Bai Xiaosheng, saying this African tycoon finally couldn’t bear staying put and decided to move his nest.

Bai Xiaosheng also swore back at Zhengdong Province, saying the photos of him in the news showed he’d gotten a whole size fatter. Other people get fat from having it easy and eating too much; he gets fatter the busier and more exhausted he is...

Their long-distance call was full of nonsense, but after taking turns ribbing each other, both felt a lot better inside.

Only at the very end, when they were about to hang up, did they each tell the other to take care of his health and not overwork.

”I’d bet Old Zheng already knows about Chen Jieke. Otherwise he wouldn’t have called so quickly, but he didn’t say a single word about it.” Lin Weiwei said to Lei Ying.

Lei Ying pressed her lips into a smile. ”Is it worth wasting a second of call charges?”

Lin Weiwei thought about it and felt the same, shrugging her shoulders.

The three of them walked back to the departure hall and went into the VIP lounge, where there were noticeably fewer people.

Only then did they find out that weather along parts of the North American coast had improved enough to meet flight conditions.
