Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2746: Chapter 1953: The Consequences of Blindness (Part 2)

Zack also nodded repeatedly.

These people were anxiously waiting outside, while Bai Xiaosheng entered the meeting room and greeted his old friends.

Jiang Kuo was holding a meeting to discuss Bai Xiaosheng’s year-long assignment abroad and how their department could support it.

Before Bai Xiaosheng arrived, the meeting had already discussed a lot of substantive content.

After arriving, Bai Xiaosheng listened to those discussions and shared some of his ideas along the way with everyone.

The conversation stretched over an hour.

Once they finished talking, Bai Xiaosheng suddenly slapped his forehead, remembering that in his engrossment with the discussion, he had forgotten that people were waiting outside for him.

At the very least, without handing over the documents to him, Fei’er and Mollya would not leave.

Bai Xiaosheng immediately bid farewell to everyone, turned, and left the meeting room.

Once outside, Bai Xiaosheng saw Fei’er, Mollya, Hans, and Zack.

At that moment, the four of them were staring unblinkingly at the meeting room door, almost wearing their eyes out with longing.

It was as if the two men’s gazes were fixed not on a meeting room but a delivery room, eagerly awaiting joyous news.

The moment Bai Xiaosheng appeared, their eyes practically lit up, and they rushed forward.

”I apologize, everyone. I was so absorbed in the discussion inside that I forgot about you.” Bai Xiaosheng smiled apologetically.

As for the previous matters, Bai Xiaosheng hadn’t taken them to heart; besides, he hadn’t suffered any loss.

If a few sarcastic remarks could anger him, could he have survived until now? He would have died of anger long ago.

When Bai Xiaosheng spoke like this, they merely listened; even if Bai Xiaosheng had deliberately made them wait, they wouldn’t have had a word of complaint.

”Mr. Bai, you have such a magnanimous character. Earlier, we were truly blind to not recognize your worth. We owe you an apology for our behavior here!” Hans still apologized.

”Feeling ashamed of our discourtesy and admiring your composure!” Zack elevated it to another level.

”You two don’t have to be so courteous, I’m really not upset.” Bai Xiaosheng reiterated sincerely.

He then turned to Fei’er and Mollya, smiling as he said, ”You two were entrusted by Mrs. Margery to deliver the documents, right? Can I have them now?”

Fei’er immediately offered them with both hands, flashing a charming smile.

”We never expected you, Mr. Bai, to be so young and handsome. Truly, Mollya is fortunate to know you as a friend. If the opportunity arises, I’d love to invite you for a cup of coffee.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded with a smile, ”There will be an opportunity.”

Mollya was beside him, mouth slightly open, unsure of what else to say.

Bai Xiaosheng glanced at her and smiled, ”I’m not being polite. I’m about to head to the Sixth Business Division’s commercial district, maybe we can travel together.”

Mollya’s eyes lit up on hearing this, and she nodded fervently.

”That would be an incredible honor, to be able to learn from Mr. Bai on the road.” Fei’er covered her mouth with a smile.

”Alright, everyone.” Bai Xiaosheng smiled, glanced around, and pointed inside the office, ”The meeting is still ongoing, so I can’t accompany everyone much longer.”

”Understood, understood.”

”Please continue with your work.”

Hans and Zack responded repeatedly.

Fei’er and Mollya nodded incessantly as well.

Bai Xiaosheng turned and went back into the meeting room.

Only then did the four of them exhale deeply and leave.

This time, Fei’er didn’t feel like inviting Hans and Zack for a drink, and they had no interest either. When they reached the elevator, they bid farewell and went their separate ways.

Along the way, Hans and Zack also exchanged greetings and parted ways.

As soon as Hans returned to his department, he received a notification that Mr. Soruns was looking for him. Only then did he remember that he hadn’t reported back to Mr. Soruns after attending to matters in the Asian Division.

Hans hurried over and, after meeting Mr. Soruns, felt a little guilty.

After all, he had offended Bai Xiaosheng. If Mr. Soruns found out, he might not be pleased.

However, seeing that Mr. Soruns appeared completely unfazed and didn’t ask a single question, Hans felt slightly relieved and reported the situation of his errands to Mr. Soruns in full detail.

Mr. Soruns listened and nodded frequently, looking appreciative.

Only then did Hans feel completely at ease.

But just as they finished talking about work, and Hans was about to leave, Mr. Soruns suddenly stopped him.

”I heard you had a situation at the Asian Division involving Mr. Bai Xiaosheng.” Mr. Soruns smiled warmly as he pointed this out.

In an instant, Hans’s eyes widened, and sweat began to form on his brow.

He was sure that Mr. Soruns knew everything!

The news had spread so quickly. At that time, they had occupied the corridor for over an hour, looking tense, with plenty of passersby. It was unsurprising that it reached Soruns’s ear.

”No need to worry. I’m friends with Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, and I’ll apologize to him, but let there be no next time, okay?” Mr. Soruns’s smile was as warm as spring.

”No, no, rest assured.” Hans replied awkwardly.

Satisfied, Mr. Soruns nodded and gestured for him to leave.

Hans was still in a daze, feeling somewhat lost as he left.

Compared to him, Zack’s situation wasn’t so diplomatic.

When he met with Brown, Zack initially thought he could conceal his slight unease behind a work report.

However, sitting at his desk, Brown’s sharp eyes seemed to see right through him, bluntly stating, ”I heard about your situation at the Asian Division. Spent an hour worrying there, and are you feeling better now?”

Zack’s face went pale when exposed.

Brown disregarded his anxiety and directly stated, ”Bai Xiaosheng is a friend of mine and has helped me greatly. Offending him is disrespecting me. While you are experienced and hold a high position in this department, I won’t punish you publicly, as a courtesy. However, I’ll give you a month’s leave without pay for self-reflection, as a minor punishment—understand that it’s merely a light penalty!”

Relieved, Zack repeatedly thanked him, feeling incredibly fortunate.

The news also reached Mrs. Margery.

After Fei’er and Mollya returned, they received a scolding.

However, Mrs. Margery was very interested in Mollya’s acquaintance with Bai Xiaosheng.

Urged by her mother, Mollya recounted the encounter with Bai Xiaosheng, highlighting parts where Bai Xiaosheng boldly helped her.

”This is truly a fateful connection.” Mrs. Margery nodded slightly, pondering for a moment. ”Bai Xiaosheng will soon return to our area. While I can’t accompany him constantly, I had planned to assign someone to follow him. Since Mollya, you have this connection, you should go.”

Mollya was stunned for a moment before responding and nodding.

”Alright, Mother.”

Beside, Fei’er glanced at Mollya’s expression and stepped forward, ”Mother, I’d like to go with Mollya.”

Mrs. Margery looked back at her other daughter, enquiring with her eyes.

”You see, while Mollya shares some friendship with Bai Xiaosheng, certain matters will be more convenient with us. However, during his undertaking in Zhenbei Group’s commercial territory, involving various Zhenbei matters she might not be clear about, my presence would be helpful, guiding her along.” Fei’er explained.

Mollya inwardly disagreed, but couldn’t argue.

Moreover, her sister’s status with their mother was incomparable to her own.

After considering it, Mrs. Margery nodded slightly, ”Alright, you two can go together.”

Fei’er was overjoyed at the decision.

Mollya simply lowered her head slightly in acceptance.

...

A few days later, Bai Xiaosheng busily attended to and settled various tasks and finally prepared to depart for Oceania.

Mrs. Margery had already left earlier, leaving Fei’er and Mollya to accompany Bai Xiaosheng.

Having handled everything, Bai Xiaosheng bid farewell to everyone at the headquarters and set out with Fei’er and Mollya.

Their first stop was the Pearl Island Nation of Oceania—Kustiel.

There, a significant problem awaited them.
