Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2722: Chapter 1942: None of Us Are Outsiders

On the third day after receiving the call from headquarters, Bai Xiaosheng had breakfast with Chen Feiqiu, Anlos, and other guests staying at the Walking Palace, chatted for a while, and then bid farewell to everyone. With a light pack, he embarked on the journey to North America.

Due to weather conditions, Bai Xiaosheng’s flight couldn’t fly directly to Ganande, North America, and he had to transfer at Luoen International Airport in South America.

The flight to South America was smooth and uneventful, with nothing noteworthy to mention.

While resting in the business class, Bai Xiaosheng inadvertently overheard the flight attendants’ conversation, mentioning that a typhoon was approaching North America, and flights there would likely be delayed.

Bai Xiaosheng heard it but didn’t take it to heart.

The reason he chose to depart today was precisely due to concerns about weather conditions.

By eleven in the morning, the flight carrying Bai Xiaosheng and others safely arrived at Luoen International Airport in South America.

After getting off the plane, the three of them headed straight to the airport’s VIP lounge, only to find every VIP room was crowded. Some people stood before the large screens, pointing and whispering, discussing various matters.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying asked Bai Xiaosheng to wait while they went to gather information.

Soon, the two returned.

Lin Weiwei said to Bai Xiaosheng, ”Xiaosheng, these people are headed to North America, and their flights have been delayed. I checked our flight information on the big screen—it’s also delayed. It’s expected to be delayed until at least three in the afternoon.”

”That long?” Bai Xiaosheng remarked in surprise.

”That’s optimistic,” Lei Ying chimed in, ”I heard it might be delayed until five in the afternoon. Even if the plane arrives, there’s a long queue of prior flights.”

Bai Xiaosheng gazed through the corridor’s glass window, looking at the clear skies outside, murmuring, ”It’s stormy there, but the weather here is pretty good.”

Even along the North American coast, some cities aren’t entirely engulfed by storms. Comparatively, the Ganande route isn’t too bad. Some cities are already in shutdown mode.

”Should we find a place to wait?” Lin Weiwei looked at the crowded lounge and frowned after speaking.

Calculating about six or seven hours, half a day, it’s hard to find a place here—the standing area is nearly full, and there are even more people in the hall.

”Why not head into Luoen City?” Lei Ying suggested, ”I’ve found out that it’s only twenty minutes by car from here to the city—pretty close. Many travelers are considering going there for a break.”

”Let’s go then!” Lin Weiwei immediately responded.

The three of them were traveling light, with luggage already checked in, so carrying just their bags made it convenient to leave.

”Let’s head into the city then.” Bai Xiaosheng was naturally agreeable.

It’s nearing noon, just right to look for a place to eat.

The three quickly made a decision and acted.

The Luoen International Airport has a subway leading directly to the city. The three initially worried that there would be many people waiting for the train, but upon arrival, they found the queue rather orderly.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions came at a less busy time, finding a spot at the end of the line.

Bai Xiaosheng noticed five or six people ahead of them, seemingly in a group.

At the front of the line was a woman peering ahead at the train, followed by what appeared to be the central figure—a young Caucasian woman. The third person was reporting to her with documents in hand.

Behind them were several men dressed in black suits, with sturdy builds—clearly bodyguards.

Bai Xiaosheng subconsciously glanced a few more times at the woman second in line.

He could only see her profile; she appeared slightly older than Lin Weiwei, sporting beautiful blond hair and a pretty face. However, her aloof expression made her seem unapproachable.

The blond beauty held her arms and listened to her female subordinate’s report, occasionally shaking her head and pointing while issuing instructions.

The reporting subordinate held a pen, making amendments on the documents from time to time.

The blond beauty inadvertently glanced over, catching Bai Xiaosheng looking at her, and immediately rolled her eyes.

Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but touch his nose, feeling slightly embarrassed and somewhat perplexed.

They were strangers, barely a glance—did that warrant getting an eye-roll?

Supposedly high-class demeanor...

Of course, this little incident didn’t bother Bai Xiaosheng much.

Meanwhile, Lin Weiwei was chatting with Lei Ying. If she had noticed the eye-roll, she surely would have confronted the other party.

Soon, a subway train arrived.

Everyone boarded in an orderly fashion.

The blond beauty and her entourage occupied a row of seats, while Bai Xiaosheng and his team sat across from them.

Coincidentally, Bai Xiaosheng found himself sitting directly opposite the blond beauty.

Hence, the uninformed Lin Weiwei winked and teased Bai Xiaosheng, implying he should admire the beauty.

I already got an unwarranted eye-roll; you didn’t see it, but staring again wouldn’t be seeking more trouble.

Bai Xiaosheng had thoughts but couldn’t share them with Lin Weiwei.

The blond beauty across held a tablet, her expression focused, deeply engrossed in it. Ever since Bai Xiaosheng and his team sat down, she hadn’t paid any attention to them.

The subordinates and bodyguards sitting beside her tried not to disturb her.

Bai Xiaosheng also took out his phone to check weather information.

Not long after, Lin Weiwei started looking around, her eyes filled with curiosity.

”What’s up?” Lei Ying asked curiously upon noticing.

Bai Xiaosheng also looked up at Lin Weiwei.
