Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2751: Chapter 1955: Big Business (Part 2)

Mr. Leifer wants to take advantage of the situation to monopolize the Kustiel spice market; he’s not dreaming.

Leifer chuckled, ”You don’t know the extent of the losses caused by the tsunami to those companies. Convenient sea and air transport relies on sufficient financial backing. Those companies attempted to band together and charter a cruise ship for procurement, but encountered a typhoon midway, causing the ship to sink. Now, they’re in hot water and struggling for survival, let alone securing inventory.”

Bai Xiaosheng was moved by this sentiment; the tsunami and typhoon together have dealt a devastating blow to the Kustiel spice industry.

”Are foreign companies aware of the situation and considering entering this market?” Bai Xiaosheng asked.

Leifer slapped his thigh, ”Well, they want to, but they can’t figure out which spices are the most scarce here.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s eyes widened with intrigue.

”For instance, spices locally known as ’Maryha’ and ’Xirakaka’ are ground into powder. Try describing them to suppliers in Europe, America, or Africa, and they won’t know what you’re talking about,” Leifer explained. ”The Kustiel people are particularly resolute; they understand that allowing outsiders into the local market eliminates their chance for a comeback, so they are stubbornly avoiding overseas funds. No one reveals where they can import the raw materials of these ground powders from.”

In today’s information era, is this even possible? Bai Xiaosheng was also taken aback.

Leifer laughed, ”That’s why I can guarantee that those spice merchants across the ocean shouldn’t even hope to seize this opportunity.”

Bai Xiaosheng looked at Leifer meaningfully.

”Judging by Mr. Leifer’s words, it seems you have insider knowledge? Those resolute Kustiel people seem to be exceptionally candid with you.”

Leifer chuckled upon hearing this, ”To be honest, my wife is a Kustiel native, and her father is a local spice merchant. Otherwise, would this opportunity land in my lap?”

Now Bai Xiaosheng understood.

”So, what is it about me that attracts Mr. Leifer to share such a significant business opportunity?” Bai Xiaosheng asked.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng’s expression, Leifer knew that if he didn’t provide some explanation today, this astute young man would definitely not believe him.

”Two reasons,” Leifer said, raising two fingers with a smile.

”Firstly, I learned earlier that you can directly arrange discussions with Kustiel’s officials, and the discussion level is quite high.”

”In truth, although I monopolize the current spice market privately, I don’t want to create trouble for myself or make enemies all around. But I want to profit; what should I do?”

”I believe if I cooperate with Kustiel’s officials, I can achieve my goals and earn a good reputation. It’s a multi-benefit. If other businesses come in later, it’ll be much easier; I can even save a lot on advertising costs, right?”

Seeing Leifer vibrant with excitement, Bai Xiaosheng nodded slightly.

We must admit, Leifer truly knows how to calculate; profiting while earning a good reputation and playing the virtuous role is indeed an impressive approach.

This is no ordinary character.

Bai Xiaosheng suddenly had a thought and asked, ”Since Mr. Leifer’s wife is a Kustiel native, and her family business is significant, does it still require others to help you make introductions?”

Truth be told, if he wishes to meet Kustiel political figures, it shouldn’t be difficult.

Leifer shrugged, ”Our family business isn’t primarily based in this country. My wife and I have lived abroad for many years. Although we have sought introductions before, they were unsatisfactory.”

That makes sense.

”And the second reason?” Bai Xiaosheng asked again.

”The second reason is that you are a Huaxia person,” Leifer smiled. ”This is very important!”

Bai Xiaosheng looked slightly surprised, questioning with his eyes.

Leifer leaned closer and whispered, ”Kustiel urgently needs over sixty types of spices, among which the most valuable and scarce are found in Huaxia.”

Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but look at Leifer with surprise.

Leifer chuckled, ”I’ll casually mention one to you; do you know what the ’Xirakaka’ I mentioned earlier is?”

Bai Xiaosheng had no idea.

Leifer didn’t hide the answer and immediately whispered a name.

Bai Xiaosheng was momentarily stunned and exclaimed, ”Isn’t that a kind of herbal medicine?”

Leifer quickly motioned for silence, then grinned, ”If I replace the names of over a dozen of the rarest spices with names you’re familiar with, you’d be quite shocked.”

Are they all herbal medicines?

Without needing to hear further, Bai Xiaosheng was already astonished.

”It’s not exclusively herbal medicine,” Leifer said. ”Don’t you Huaxia people have a dynasty called ’Ming’? It was said to have the largest wooden navy to visit various countries, stopping over in Kustiel, distributing seeds of spices suitable for local planting. Since then, those spices have taken root and flourished here...”

This story has quite a historical distance.

Leifer continued enthusiastically, ”According to what I know, most spices can be purchased in Huaxia. I initially thought about visiting Huaxia to find suppliers, but haven’t yet traveled. You saw me earlier reading coffee and data; I was doing my homework in advance.”

Bai Xiaosheng now recalled, initially thinking the man was reading a newspaper, but at one point, he inadvertently glimpsed papers hidden inside the newspaper.

This person has an espionage-like flair even when reading materials; it’s unparalleled.

However, before coming to speak with him, Leifer should have gathered all the materials in his bag, as there was nothing visible on the table now.

”Nevertheless, to choose a partner is too time-consuming, not the best option,” Leifer shook his head with a swagger.

”How about it, I’ve told you everything; can we collaborate?”

After speaking, Leifer looked at Bai Xiaosheng with anticipation.

Bai Xiaosheng pondered for a moment before saying, ”Mr. Leifer, thank you for placing such trust in me by sharing such important information. However, I’m still not that interested in this market.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s response was a polite refusal.

Leifer’s eyes flickered as he looked at the young man.

So direct, so composed—meaning this person has even larger business dealings.

Being a shrewd businessman, Leifer smiled, ”Actually, our family’s other businesses aren’t small either, otherwise we wouldn’t have the capital to take over eighty percent of the remaining Kustiel spice market. I believe in the future, Mr. Bai, we might have a chance to cooperate.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded to this.

”Additionally, I have a request,” Leifer smiled. ”I hope Mr. Bai, if you have the opportunity, can help make introductions to Kustiel’s high-level officials. We’d be grateful for such a favor!”

Bai Xiaosheng thought for a moment before responding, ”I can’t promise this just yet as my current affairs aren’t resolved. If things go smoothly, I’ll be happy to help.”

”Sounds good,” Leifer said with a smile.

Then, both exchanged contact numbers for convenience.

”It’s getting late; I won’t disturb you further,” Leifer smiled, standing up, and Bai Xiaosheng also smiled in acknowledgment.

Only when Leifer left, Bai Xiaosheng realized that the people at the other table were actually with Leifer.

After watching them leave, Bai Xiaosheng turned towards the sea, sipping coffee and pondering the conversation with Leifer, involuntarily smiling, ”Haha, who would’ve thought it was herbal medicine.”

Once Bai Xiaosheng finished his coffee, Lei Ying returned.

Soon after, Lin Weiwei, Fei’er, and Mollya returned as well.

The three women were carrying large bags, chatting happily, lamenting the short time and unfulfilled shopping spree.

”It’s getting late now; let’s go meet the representatives from Kustiel,” Bai Xiaosheng said, standing up.

He chose not to discuss matters about Leifer just yet.

Above all, he prioritized handling business affairs.

Then, the group went downstairs, hailed a taxi, and headed straight to the Lales City Hall.
