Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”First, the funds you’re short on. I’ll wire them to the entertainment company’s account tomorrow.”

”President Xu~ You really have a sharp tongue but a soft heart.”

Hearing this, Liang Yan threw her arms around Xu Yun’s neck and said softly, ”You should have just told me you were here to give me money. You made me misunderstand you earlier.”

”You little minx...” Xu Yun couldn’t help but laugh at her sudden change in attitude.

Liang Yan didn’t mind being called names at all.

To her, fighting was a sign of intimacy, and scolding was a sign of love. A relationship without them lacked passion.

She let go of Xu Yun and started straightening her clothes and hair.

As long as Xu Yun brought her money every time, she’d be willing to endure this kind of violent behavior every single day.

’No pain, no gain,’ she thought.

In fact, after what happened today, she discovered she actually kind of liked this ”forced” approach!

It was an experience unlike any she’d had before.

’So if it happened every once in a while in the future, that wouldn’t be so bad!’

As Liang Yan considered this, she had to admit she was a little depraved.

”If I weren’t so depraved, you wouldn’t even like me, would you?”

After fixing her clothes, she reapplied her lipstick, then picked up the torn stockings from the floor and threw them in the trash.

Then she turned around, smiled, and asked, ”President Xu, so what was the other thing?”

”I came to see how you’ve arranged things for the woman I sent you.”

”Oh, her?”

Liang Yan replied, ”I sent her to the training camp to study with the instructors. According to the schedule, today is supposed to be her assessment day. If she passes, she’ll be the female lead in the next short-form drama.”

”Let’s go take a look.”

”Okay.” Liang Yan took out a mirror to check her appearance. Other than a slight flush, there were no other obvious signs.

She sprayed some perfume in the air to cover up the lingering smell of hormones and also opened the window.

’She and Xu Yun had made so much noise just now; it would be easy for people to get suspicious!’

”Can you pick a different place next time?”

After all that, Liang Yan linked her arm with Xu Yun’s and said, exasperated, ”If my employees find out about this, how am I supposed to face anyone at the company?!”

”That’s your problem, not mine.”

With that, Xu Yun opened the office door and led her out.

Everyone who saw them was a bit dumbfounded, unsure of what had just happened.

Liang Yan didn’t explain anything to them. She just turned to one of the employees with a serious expression and said, ”Have the cleaning lady come to my office later to clean up the broken vase.”

”Yes, President Liang.”

And so, under the confused gazes of their staff, the two left the company arm in arm, looking like a couple that had just fought and made up.

Half an hour later, Xu Yun and Liang Yan arrived at another entertainment company.

The general manager, accompanying the behind-the-scenes big boss on his first visit to the company, was treading carefully, having only recently taken the position.

When he heard they wanted to go to the training room to see the artist being assessed today, the manager immediately led the way, explaining the trainees’ situation at the company as they walked.

Arriving outside the assessment room, Xu Yun looked through the one-way glass and saw Wanqing inside, taking her test.

The script she was performing seemed to be a scene with Fairy Zixia from *Journey to the West*.

”President Xu, President Liang.”

The manager said from the side, ”This artist, Wanqing, has been studying very hard and has improved quickly. Several of the instructors say she’s a promising talent with the potential to become famous.”

”If she passes, let her play the female lead in the next project.”

Liang Yan added, ”The one we’re about to film, the one with the biggest investment.”

”Understood, President Liang.”

The manager agreed, then snuck a glance at the incredibly young behind-the-scenes boss and said, ”There is one more thing. The director of the TV series we’re funding is asking for more money again.”

”More money, always more money. Does he think we’re a bank?”

Liang Yan said, displeased, ”At this rate, he’s going way over our original budget. You tell him there’s no more money, but he still has to guarantee the quality. If he can do it, fine. If not, we’ll replace him!”

”President Liang, replacing a director mid-production...”

”If you can’t handle this, I’ll replace you along with him!”

In front of her subordinate, Liang Yan’s assertiveness was no less than Su Mu’s—in fact, she might have been even more intense!

”Er...”

Hearing this, the manager quickly said, ”I’ll go and negotiate again. I’ll do my best to ensure the project is completed on time and up to standard.”

”Where are they filming now?” Xu Yun suddenly asked.

”To answer President Xu, they’re in Hengdian.”

Xu Yun nodded. ”President Liang, let’s find some time to visit the set.”

”Okay.”

While they were talking, the assessment inside finished.

Although Wanqing’s performance was still a bit raw, her emotions and expressions were on point. At least it wasn’t awkward to watch.

It’s just that with classic roles like this, no matter who plays them, people will always feel they fall a little short and can’t surpass the original.

In the end, the instructors passed her.

Coming out of the assessment room, Wanqing hadn’t even had a chance to celebrate when she heard someone call her name in a very familiar voice.

She turned her head and, sure enough, saw the man who occupied her thoughts.

”President Xu?”

Wanqing walked over happily, but after glancing at the other two people present, she maintained a bit of distance and said, ”When did you get back?”

”Yesterday.”

Xu Yun smiled and asked, ”How is it? Are you settling in okay?”

”Yes, everyone’s been very nice to me.”

Wanqing said cheerfully, ”And I just passed my post-training assessment.”
