Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Even though it was just a bit part, for a newcomer, this was an incredibly high starting point!

So she was happy and excited, filled with anticipation for her future.

Michelle suddenly thought of her good friend, Wanqing, who used to live with her.

She had been so busy lately that she hadn’t contacted her. She wondered how Wanqing was doing after moving to the Mainland.

She found her contact picture and immediately started a video call.

A moment later, the call went through.

”Hey, Michelle.”

On the screen, Wanqing smiled at her. ”What made you decide to call me?”

Michelle smiled. ”I just wanted to see how you were doing.”

”Pretty good. I’ve already signed with a company and become one of their artists. Right now, I’m taking acting lessons with a coach. In a few more days, if I pass my performance evaluation, I can start trying out for female lead roles.”

”Wow, a female lead right away? I’m so jealous.”

Wanqing asked caringly, ”By the way, what about you? How are things? Did you get signed?”

”I’m doing okay, too. I got signed.

I can’t just jump into a leading role like you, but I successfully joined a cast. I’m currently playing the female lead’s handmaid, and I have a lot of screen time.”

Michelle replied with a smile, ”I’m also filming and taking acting lessons at the company at the same time.”

”Keep it up!”

Wanqing said hurriedly, ”I have to go. My acting coach is calling for me. Bye!”

With that, she quickly hung up.

”Bye!”

Michelle was so envious.

’Just as I thought. Things are different for Wanqing now that she’s gone to the Mainland and is with Xu Yun. She gets to be the female lead right away.’

’I thought I was starting off high, but I never expected Wanqing to start even higher.’

In reality, she didn’t know that Wanqing was the female lead in a short-form drama, not a TV series or a movie!

So, in practical terms, Wanqing’s starting point wasn’t as good as hers.

But regardless, both of their careers were looking up.

And all of this was because of Xu Yun.

’I wonder if I’ll ever get a chance to see him again!’

「On National Highway 219.」

Xu Yun’s RV had once again parked beside a river.

Anar Guli was off to one side, grilling lamb skewers for their lunch.

A short while ago, her dad had called. He said he’d found a mechanic, gotten the car fixed, and was now driving hard to catch up to them, though he wasn’t sure if he could make it.

Anar Guli wanted her dad to catch up so she wouldn’t have to be around Xu Yun anymore.

But for some reason, a part of her also hoped his car would break down on the road again.

’That way, she could continue traveling home with Xu Yun and the others.’

Nearby, Xu Yun took a sip of the Carmen Coffee that Lin Wanzhou had brewed. ”Huh,” he said, puzzled. ”How come the coffee isn’t sour today?”

”It was never sour.”

Xu Yun: ”???”

”Oh, I was making it wrong before.”

Lin Wanzhou smiled. ”After President Fu showed me how to do it, I realized that when you brew it properly, the Carmen has a hint of sweetness in its bitterness. It’s actually pretty good.”

”That explains it. I was wondering why you were so obsessed with brewing this stuff the whole trip. I thought you had some weird tastes.”

Xu Yun was speechless. ”So after all this time, you’ve just been secretly enjoying it by yourself and deliberately not telling me, is that it?”

”You never asked.”

Lin Wanzhou teased, ”By the way, I suggest you start thinking hard about how you’re going to explain the situation with his daughter to Big Beard.”

”Explain what?” Xu Yun said.

”You slept in the same bed as his daughter.”

Lin Wanzhou said, ”If her dad finds out, do you think he’ll let you off easily?”

”If I don’t say anything, and you don’t say anything, who’s going to know?”

Xu Yun said with a clear conscience, ”Besides, I didn’t do anything. And even if I had, she would have been the one to make the first move.

I didn’t move an inch last night. If anyone should be looking for trouble, it should be me looking for trouble with them.”

”...” Lin Wanzhou.

’What the fuck? You can do that?’
