Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”Mhm.”

Xu Xiaozhi suddenly asked curiously, ”Mom, why doesn’t Dad live with you?”

”Uh...”

Fu Baoying said, ”He’s busy with work. He has other important things to do.”

”It’s okay, I remember Dad’s phone number.”

Xu Xiaozhi said, ”When I get home, I’ll call Dad and ask him to come back and keep you company.”

Fu Baoying was left speechless.

By the time they got home, Xu Xiaozhi had already fallen asleep in the car.

Fu Baoying carried her all the way to her princess-like bedroom and gently laid her down.

On Hong Kong Island, where every inch of land is worth a fortune, being able to own such a large apartment in Central—over a hundred square meters—was already a mark of great success.

It could even be described as a luxury home.

She truly treated Xu Xiaozhi as her own daughter.

She wouldn’t be having any other children in the future.

Because she had been checked long ago, and the doctor told her the chances of her becoming a mother were almost zero.

This was also why she had the sudden urge to adopt Xu Xiaozhi when she met her.

After staying with Xu Xiaozhi for a while, Fu Baoying picked up her phone, took a beautiful picture of her, then tapped on Xu Yun’s profile picture and sent it to him.

This was the child they had adopted together; she belonged to both of them.

After sending the photo, she also sent over Xu Xiaozhi’s relevant information.

This included Xu Xiaozhi’s name, registration details, the kindergarten she attended, and so on.

But after she sent it, that was it. There was no response, and she had no idea what he was doing.

When it came to Xu Yun, she felt as if she were in a dream.

It all started with a spur-of-the-moment decision to chase after Xu Yun, which led to sleeping with him, adopting a child, and then leaving with a so-called verbal promise.

And now, she was actually in control of an investment firm with five billion in cash.

She felt it had all happened too quickly, too unreal.

She had gone from having nothing to this in just over a week!

’Since Xu Yun has fulfilled his promise, I have to go all out and turn this five billion into ten billion, or even fifty billion, in assets as quickly as possible.’

’Because only by becoming such a financial tycoon will I have real capital within the Horse Club. Only then will I have the confidence to speak with the executive board as an equal, rather than as an expendable tool.’

’Someone they can just toss aside when they no longer have a use for me!’

Because of Ruan Guohua’s relationship with Xu Yun, coupled with his resources and connections, the first industry Fu Baoying planned to invest in was entertainment.

’Ideally, I can help Ruan Guohua and discreetly seize control of Huayi.’

On Hong Kong Island, Huayi dominated more than half of the entertainment industry, with countless popular celebrities under its banner.

「Meanwhile.」

After Ruan Qingnian confirmed his suspicions, he went home and told his father about it.

Suspicions were one thing, but once it was confirmed, he was still shocked by Xu Yun’s personal power and audacity.

’This man is definitely a hidden dragon, coiled and waiting.’

’If our family builds a good relationship with him, he might be able to help with many things in the mainland in the future.’

’What’s more, we can also get on board with that woman, Fu Baoying.’

Just as his son had said when he returned, Fu Baoying had told him to pass on the message that from now on, they were on the same side and should work together to grow and prosper.

Then, he remembered the one small favor Xu Yun had asked his son to do before he left.

That woman named Michelle.

’We tossed her over to Sister Hong so long ago, and I haven’t even asked how she’s doing!’

”Son.”

Ruan Guohua said, ”In a bit, call Sister Hong and ask how that Michelle girl is doing at the company.”

”I already asked.”

Ruan Qingnian said, ”Sister Hong said she found a production for her. She’s playing the female lead’s personal maid. The role isn’t big and doesn’t have many lines, but she gets a lot of screen time.”

”In Sister Hong’s words, the first step is to get her face out there so the audience can get a basic impression of her.”

”For the rest of the time, she’s found a professional coach to train her acting skills.”

”This Sister Hong, she’s been quite diligent this time.”

Hearing this, Ruan Guohua felt greatly relieved.

”But, Dad.”

Ruan Qingnian reminded him, ”What if Fu Baoying finds out that this Michelle we’re helping has ’that kind’ of relationship with Brother Xu? Won’t she be unhappy?”

”A smart woman wouldn’t get jealous over something like this.”

Ruan Guohua said scornfully, ”Even if Michelle really becomes a big star, could her net worth ever exceed five billion? What does she have to compare with Fu Baoying?”

”Fu Baoying probably wouldn’t even give a woman like Michelle a second glance. No matter how good she is, in the eyes of the rich, she’s just an actress.”

Ruan Qingnian was silent.

’Tch. And yet, actresses are exactly what men like!’

「On Hong Kong Island, in a certain 30-square-meter apartment.」

Michelle had been filming late into the night and only got back in the early hours of the morning.

With no scenes to film today, she slept in, took a shower after waking up, and planned to rest for a bit, grab a meal, and then head to the company’s training room in the afternoon to continue working with her coach.

Ever since she came to the company and signed on as an artist, she had been taken under the wing of the top agent, Sister Hong.

Or rather, it was because Young Master Ruan had put in a good word, using his connections to make her one of Sister Hong’s artists.

This kind of treatment was the envy of many newcomers who had just joined the company.

Because everyone knew that none of Sister Hong’s artists ever flopped. Even the least successful ones achieved some level of fame, and she had launched many A-list stars in the past.

More importantly, she had excellent resources and extensive connections within the industry.

Sure enough, just three days after she joined, Sister Hong had pulled some strings and gotten her a role in a major production as the female lead’s personal maid.
