Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The sales associate fell silent.

Cheng Yuelan shook her head, clearly unsatisfied.

Suddenly, she spotted a white watch nearby that caught her eye. It was quite handsome.

”Could you please take that one out for me to look at?”

”Of course, ma’am.”

The sales associate quickly retrieved it and handed it to the woman, explaining, ”This is another one of our limited-edition watches, the RM 72-01. It’s made of white ceramic.”

Cheng Yuelan held it in her hand, examining it closely. She thought it would look wonderful on a young man’s wrist. It would give him a crisp, clean look.

”How much is this one?”

”Ma’am, you have excellent taste!”

The sales associate first complimented Cheng Yuelan’s taste before adding, ”This is a limited-edition piece, so the chances of seeing someone else wearing the same one are very slim. However, its price is a bit higher than the last watch.”

Although she could tell the woman before her was likely wealthy, a watch worth several million was in a completely different league than a handbag worth a few hundred thousand.

’Honestly, unless you’re worth hundreds of millions, you probably wouldn’t be willing to spend that much.’

Seeing that the associate was hesitant to name a price, Cheng Yuelan assumed it was like other luxury brands that required bundling. ”Do I have to buy other items before you’re willing to sell this to me?” she asked.

”No, not at all.”

The sales associate said immediately, ”We never require customers to bundle purchases for our watches.”

”Then just tell me the price. Or are you afraid it’s too expensive and I can’t afford it?”

”No, ma’am, you’ve misunderstood.”

The sales associate said awkwardly, ”This watch you’re looking at is the last one we have in the store. The price is around 2.9 million.”

”From the way you were acting, I thought it was going to be 29 million.”

Cheng Yuelan took out her black card and handed it to the associate. ”I’ll take it. Please wrap it up nicely. I’m in a hurry to get home and make dinner.”

’Normally, giving such an expensive gift on a first visit would be a bit inappropriate.’

’But, considering the tea he had her daughter bring back last time... Her husband loved it, and she’d heard it was also worth several million.’

’Since he was so generous, her giving him a watch worth a few million could be considered a gift in return.’

”Right away, ma’am.” Seeing the private bank’s black card, the sales associate realized her worries had been for nothing. Now, she was actually starting to feel a bit of regret.

’If she’d known the client had this kind of purchasing power, she should have recommended an even more expensive model!’

Soon, with the card swiped and the watch bought, Cheng Yuelan left with her shopping bag, hurrying home.

She had already called the housekeeper and asked her to buy the necessary ingredients in advance, so she could start cooking the moment she got home.

Meanwhile, after spending a little while with Jiang Peiyao at the orphanage, Xino left.

Since she only had the use of one hand and couldn’t drive, Yu Xuan drove her home in the Bentley.

As soon as she got home, she noticed that some of the housekeepers were busy cleaning, while others had driven to the supermarket and returned with a lot of food.

Her brother was home from work early, too, and her dad was in his study, fussing over his treasured tea set.

Boiling water, washing the set.

Xino hadn’t seen this much activity at home in a long time.

She asked her brother, confused, ”Bro, are we having important guests over later?”

”You don’t know?”

Xi Wei answered, ”Xu Yun is coming over soon.”

”Xu Yun is coming here?”

Xino said in surprise, ”He’s back? How did I not know!”

Xi Wei asked in return, ”He didn’t tell you he was coming over?”

”No, I didn’t know anything.”

”I didn’t even know he was back,” Xino said, dumbfounded.

’Not long ago, he asked me for my brother’s number,’ she thought. ’Was this why?’

Xi Wei was speechless.

’He comes back secretly, and the first thing he does isn’t to find his own sister, but to bring someone to make trouble for me.’

’What a guy who never lets himself get the short end of the stick!’

’If he really becomes my brother-in-law, what with the threats and the violence, how am I supposed to live my life!’

’The worst part is my love-struck sister will definitely be one hundred percent on his side!’

”No, I have to call him and ask what’s going on!”

After hearing the news, Xino’s first reaction was happiness that Xu Yun was back. Her second was that he was finally coming to meet her parents. But why hadn’t he told her? Why keep it a secret from her?

But just as she picked up her phone to call him, Xi Wei stopped her. ”I don’t think you should.”

”Why not?”

”Since he deliberately told me instead of you, maybe he just doesn’t want you to know yet.”

Xi Wei said, ”You should just pretend you don’t know.”

”Your brother has a point.”

The middle-aged man came down from the study. ”He’s coming to our house soon anyway,” he said. ”Wouldn’t it be better to say whatever you want to him in person?”

”That’s true,” Xino said with a happy smile.

’He must be planning a special surprise for me!’

Xino’s imagination ran wild. ’Could he be bringing a ring to propose to me, and to ask my parents for my hand in marriage?’

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Xino said cheerfully, ”Don’t move, I’ll get it! It must be Xu Yun.”

But when she opened the door, she saw her mom, Cheng Yuelan.

She called out, slightly disappointed, ”Mom!”

”What, not happy to see me?”

Cheng Yuelan chuckled. ”Then I guess you won’t like the guest I brought home for you, either?”

As she spoke, she stepped aside, and Xu Yun emerged from behind her with a smile.

It turned out that as Cheng Yuelan was returning home, she had run into Xu Yun, who had also just arrived.

This was the first time Cheng Yuelan had seen Xu Yun in person.

’Setting aside everything else, just his appearance alone is very satisfactory,’ she thought. ’He’s the quintessential dream son-in-law from a mother-in-law’s perspective.’
