Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”Yeah, I’m listening. Go on.”

Xu Yun was still quite calm about suddenly making 1.6 billion.

According to the system’s designation, this money belonged to the investment company. It was earmarked funds, not money in his personal account, so he couldn’t use it directly at all.

Or rather, using it himself would involve some troublesome procedures!

So, to him, this money was just a number. Other than for showing off, it wasn’t practical at all.

”You’re in the Mainland, and your connections are better than mine, so you should have a clearer picture of some things.”

Fu Baoying asked, ”Foreign capital is pouring in like crazy right now, and the stock price is still soaring. Do you have any inside information? Should I sell now? Or keep holding?”

”I don’t know anything about stocks, and I don’t have any information.”

Xu Yun said nonchalantly, ”I gave you the money. You’re the one playing with it, so do as you please.”

”No, Xu Yun!”

Hearing Xu Yun’s casual tone, Fu Baoying was taken aback for a moment, then said with a serious expression, ”This is your money! If we seize this opportunity and play it right, we could make billions. Can’t you be a little more invested in this?”

Hearing her words, Xu Yun thought, ’Maybe I should try buying the information from the system?’

But after he summoned the system and glanced at the price, he immediately gave up on the idea.

Because this piece of information was too valuable—the system was asking for a flat 100 billion!

’Holy crap,’ he only had a little over 200 million in his account. He couldn’t afford it at all.

”Well, let me give you a suggestion then.”

Since he couldn’t count on the system, Xu Yun thought for a moment and said, ”If it were me, I’d watch it for a few more days at most, then sell at what I feel is a good high point. Money isn’t real money until it’s in your pocket.”

”Okay, I’ll listen to you then.”

”My advice isn’t necessarily right!”

Xu Yun smiled. ”You must have a lot of financial experts around you. You should still consider their opinions!”

”If I’d actually listened to them, I wouldn’t have made this 1.6 billion!”

Fu Baoying chuckled. ”I know you definitely have some inside information; you’re just not telling me.

After all, the reason this stock suddenly started skyrocketing was because you guys delivered a ’Dongfeng Express’ the day before!

If I hadn’t been sharp enough to get in early, I would have missed out.”

”...” Xu Yun was speechless.

He had to admit, this woman was truly capable!

Fu Baoying said, ”Alright, that’s all. I’m hanging up now. Xu Xiaozhi is about to get back.”

Hearing Xu Xiaozhi’s name, Xu Yun asked, ”How has she been doing over there with you lately? Is she settling in okay?”

”She’s slowly starting to adapt.”

Fu Baoying chuckled. ”She had the day off today, so Ruan Qingnian took her out to have fun all day.”

”Oh, I’ll come visit her when I have time.”

”Oh, right, one more thing.”

Fu Baoying said, ”I bought an apartment at Shenzhen Bay No.1 in the company’s name. During holidays, Lin Xiaozhi and I will occasionally go stay there for a few days.

If you come in the future, you can go straight there instead of staying at a hotel. The code for the door is ****.”

”Okay, I got it.”

Xu Yun hung up the phone and walked back.

Xino and Cheng Yuelan had already gone upstairs, apparently having something to discuss in private.

Xi Huai’an smiled and asked, ”Something came up?”

”Nothing major.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Actually, I was hoping to ask for your guidance, Uncle. How long do you think this stock price surge will last?”

”It should last a few more days.”

Xi Huai’an thought for a moment before saying, ”It will last until at least some time after the National Day holiday. Once everyone has jumped in, the harvest will begin.”

”Oh, thank you, Uncle.”

”Why? Did a friend of yours buy in?”

”Mhm, they bought a little.”

Xu Yun nodded. ”My friend bought 5 billion worth of stocks in one go before the Mid-Autumn Festival. They’ve made a small profit now and are asking me if they should sell or hold on for a few more days.”

”!!!” Xi Huai’an was stunned.

”!!!” So was Xi Wei.

’What kind of friend is this, buying stocks in the billions?’

’This must be one of the biggest players in the country!’

’And besides, for a decision this massive, why would they ask you whether to sell?’

’Unless...’

The father and son couldn’t help but exchange a glance.

’Unless the money that person was using was actually Xu Yun’s, which is why he has the final say!’

If the money was Xu Yun’s, then they would have to re-evaluate his status and background, bumping him up another level.

’And to think he was just telling everyone that the big players were about to harvest the leeks and that they should run.’

’Turns out, he’s one of the big players himself.’

But since he hadn’t admitted it and said it was a friend, then a friend it was.

Xi Huai’an played along, ”Your friend certainly has guts. But for a stock holding of that size, I don’t think you should listen to my opinion. It’s better to find a professional for analysis.”

”It’s fine. I actually just gave my friend the same advice you did.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”She said she wants to take a gamble. It’d be great if she profits, but it doesn’t matter if she loses. The money isn’t hers anyway, so I guess she doesn’t feel the sting.”

”...” Xi Huai’an was speechless again.

’I think you’re the one who doesn’t feel the sting!’

After that, the two continued to chat, while Xi Wei stood to the side, feeling like he couldn’t even get a word in.

After a little while, Xino and Cheng Yuelan came downstairs.

It looked like the two of them had a very happy chat, as they were both smiling.

Seeing that it was getting late, Xu Yun also stood up and said, ”Uncle, Auntie, it’s getting late, so I won’t disturb you any longer. I’ll be heading back now.”

”Stay a little longer.”

Cheng Yuelan smiled. ”I haven’t even had a proper chat with you yet.”

”There’ll be plenty of time in the future. No rush, Auntie.”

”Alright then.”

Cheng Yuelan said, ”You young people probably don’t enjoy hanging out with us old folks anyway. It’s boring, so I won’t keep you.”
