Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Xu Yun came out, and Xi Wei saw him off.

His female secretary, Cheng Yi, had been standing by the door the whole time, ready to be summoned at a moment’s notice.

”Your secretary is quite beautiful. If you had sent her in the first place, you might have succeeded.”

After his light-hearted jab, Xu Yun turned to Yang Siqi and said, ”I’ll head out first. You stay and chat with his secretary. Finalize the business details as soon as possible, before President Xi changes his mind.”

The female secretary looked at Xi Wei, completely lost. ’???’

Xi Wei said, exasperated, ”I’m not that shameless.”

Hearing this, Xu Yun smiled. ”President Xi, you’re a class act. Truly a man who gets things done. In that case, I’ll be on my way.”

”Take care. I won’t see you out.”

After sending Xu Yun into his private elevator, Xi Wei turned and glanced at Yang Siqi.

Without Xu Yun there, Yang Siqi felt her confidence waver as she faced Xi Wei alone.

She knew this deal hadn’t come from any friendly negotiation. Xu Yun had practically strong-armed it out of him!

Anyone in his shoes would be upset.

However, after looking at her for a moment, Xi Wei asked an unexpected question.

”You and Xu Yun are just friends?”

Yang Siqi hesitated before answering, ”Yes, just ordinary friends.”

”I’ll take your word for it, for now. But regardless of whether you have other ideas about that guy, I hope you don’t cross any lines. I can’t do anything to him, but dealing with you wouldn’t be difficult.”

”...” Yang Siqi was speechless.

’Well, aren’t you a classic bully—picking on the weak and fearing the strong!’

’You couldn’t threaten Xu Yun, so you come after me instead.’

But she wasn’t Xu Yun. He could talk back, but she didn’t dare.

After saying this, Xi Wei turned to his secretary. ”Our corporate group, including all subsidiaries and invested hotels, needs to replace its fitness equipment soon.”

”Discuss it with President Yang later, then draft a contract for the head of procurement to review. If there are no issues, bring it to me to sign.”

”Ah... yes, sir.”

Cheng Yi glanced at her old classmate in surprise and quickly nodded in agreement.

She knew it hadn’t even been three years since the group had last replaced all its fitness equipment!

’And now we’re replacing it all again?’

’Is he just forcing business her way?’

”Also, privately reach out to the other companies we partner with and introduce President Yang to them.”

”Suggest to them that some of their old fitness equipment should be replaced. The well-being of their employees is paramount. If we ensure they have a good environment to exercise in after work and stay healthy, they’ll be able to work better.”

”Understood, President Xi.”

If Cheng Yi had been uncertain and a little suspicious before, she was now one hundred percent sure: the boss was using his authority to forcibly drum up business for her!

Yang Siqi, standing to the side, also understood the implication.

As long as these companies wanted to keep doing business with his group, they would have to ”voluntarily” replace their fitness equipment and ”voluntarily” sign a long-term contract with her.

If they weren’t willing and wanted the right to choose, then he, Xi Wei, also had the right to choose.

Every word he said was about ”voluntary” participation, yet every word left no room for choice!

If you wanted to keep making money, you had to bow your head!

High-stakes business warfare was always so brutally simple!

Whether it was Xu Yun just now or Xi Wei at this moment, the methods they used were virtually identical.

But she also understood that such tactics only worked when it was a big fish eating a small one.

”Alright, take President Yang to your office to talk. Don’t disturb me unless it’s important.”

With that, Xi Wei returned to his office.

The door closed a little too loudly, as if he were in a rather foul mood.

With no outsiders present in the secretary’s office, the two women no longer had to pretend they didn’t know each other.

Cheng Yi said to Yang Siqi, ”I never expected we’d meet again like this.”

”Me neither.”

Yang Siqi said, ”You’re still as beautiful and brilliant as ever, even becoming an executive at such a large corporation.”

”I can’t compare to you. You even had my boss personally come downstairs to greet you.”

Cheng Yi paused for a moment before continuing, ”It’s been three or four years since we last saw each other at the class reunion, right?”

”You always had an excuse to miss the reunions after that. Turns out you were busy quietly raking in a fortune.”

”What fortune? I just opened a small company. I’m barely getting by.”

”A small company?”

Cheng Yi said, ”A small company wouldn’t get a meeting with our boss, much less have him come down to receive them.”

”Your boss didn’t come down for me. He came for my friend.”

Yang Siqi explained, ”The only reason I got to see your boss and land this deal with your group is all thanks to my friend.”

When she mentioned Xu Yun, Cheng Yi’s interest was immediately piqued.

The difference in her boss’s attitude toward her classmate versus the man had been crystal clear.

’I wonder what prominent family he’s from, to be able to put my boss in his place and still be treated so politely!’

Cheng Yi asked curiously, ”What does your friend’s family do?”

”I don’t know.”

Yang Siqi wasn’t on good terms with her, so she had no desire to make small talk, especially not about Xu Yun.

She said, ”Secretary Cheng, let’s just talk about the fitness equipment procurement. Your boss is waiting.”

”Alright.”

Cheng Yi said, ”Do you have a price list for your company’s equipment? You can send it to me first. Once we confirm the prices, we can discuss the purchase quantity.”

This wasn’t her responsibility to begin with. In fact, it was something President Xi should have been handling personally.

After all, the group’s logistics and procurement were the responsibility of the administrative director!
