Super Rich by Doing as You Please

To put it bluntly, everyone who came to the gathering today was part of the boss’s harem.

That included the two women who had just left.

Only Song Xiaowei, having arrived last, had no idea which of these women were intimately involved with Xu Yun.

But she decided not to dwell on it. It was better to just pretend she didn’t know anything and treat them all as friends.

All that mattered to her was that she was Xu Yun’s woman and that Xu Yun treated her well.

She didn’t want to worry about the rest, nor could she.

After that brief interlude, everyone left the restaurant and drove off in their respective luxury cars.

Then, as if on cue, they all secretly sent Xu Yun a message.

Su Mu: [If you don’t come back soon, I’m really going to call someone to fix the water heater!]

Li Jinshu: [Xu Yun, when are you coming back? I miss you.]

Ning Qian: [I’ve bought so many new outfits recently, but there’s no one to see me wear them (pitiful.jpg).]

Song Xiaowei: [Brother Xu, I got booked on a variety show! I want you to come back so I can share my happiness with you.]

Yu Xuan: [Boss, President Liang is short on funds for the TV series. When are you coming back?]

Liang Yan: [Xu Yun, if you don’t come back soon, your women are going to start fighting.]

On National Highway 219, Xu Yun was fast asleep.

He and Lin Wanzhou had spent the previous night resting in Lhasa. Xu Yun had wanted to follow the crowd and pay his respects at the Potala Palace, but Lin Wanzhou had shattered that notion.

”Do you really think it’s sacred?”

Xu Yun retorted, ”Isn’t it sacred?”

”In that case, I suggest you visit the museum first.”

So, Lin Wanzhou led Xu Yun to the Lhasa Museum.

After learning about a certain part of its history, when he looked at the landmark again...

”FUCK! A bunch of beasts!”

The serf owners there had used theocracy to rule, treating people as less than human!

”That’s why, before the liberation, the faith here wasn’t a path to enlightenment. It was a path to hell.”

Lin Wanzhou scoffed, ”Everyone comes here on a pilgrimage, but what exactly are they venerating?”

Because of this, Xu Yun didn’t sleep well for a long time and was often plagued by nightmares.

Sometimes he would finally fall into a deep sleep, only to be startled awake by the howling of wolves.

Afterward, they passed through Tibet and entered the Xinjiang region.

According to their original plan, they could have rested in a city every day. But Xu Yun wanted to experience the wildness of the road. He wanted to rough it, camping in the wilderness and avoiding towns altogether.

Unless they needed to resupply on food and water.

And so, Xu Yun experienced extreme temperature swings from day to night, the sun still being out at ten o’clock in the evening, and the occasional sky full of yellow sand from small-scale dust storms.

For Xu Yun, these were truly life experiences he’d never had before.

It was tough and tiring, but it was exhilarating!

When he woke up, Xu Yun checked his phone to see several unread messages, all from his beautiful confidantes.

Whether their concern was genuine or not, it was always nice to be thought of.

He didn’t reply.

He just silently picked up his phone and transferred 50 million to Su Mu’s company account.

How she chose to manage it was up to her.

Over the past few days, his impulsiveness and penchant for doing as he pleased had earned him quite a few cash rewards from the system. All told, his current balance had surpassed 200 million!

Subtracting the 50 million he just transferred, he still had 150 million.

After transferring the money, Xu Yun gazed out the window at the setting sun over a vast expanse of the Gobi Desert.

In that moment, the classic poetic image of ”a lone plume of smoke rising straight from the great desert, as the sun sets round over the long river” became a tangible reality.

If it weren’t for his watch, he wouldn’t be able to tell if it was day or night just by looking at the sun.

Xu Yun asked curiously, ”Old Lin, where are we now?”

”We just left Hoboksar.”

Lin Wanzhou replied, ”Another 180 kilometers and we’ll reach Jeminay. After we rest and resupply there, we can drive straight to the end of National Highway 219, Kanas.”

Just as the two were talking, a man suddenly appeared on the straight highway, blocking the middle of the road.

Lin Wanzhou slammed on the brakes, bringing the vehicle to a halt.

The inertia almost sent Xu Yun crashing into the table in front of him.

”Old Lin, what the hell!”

”Someone’s blocking the road.”

”???”

Xu Yun moved to the passenger seat and looked ahead.

He saw a man with a big beard standing in the middle of the road. Beside the road was a parked gray pickup truck, its hood propped open.

Seeing the RV stop, he immediately rushed to the window. ”Hey, Ah Zashi—brother! Can we join you?”

Xu Yun turned and asked, ”What does he mean?”

”He wants to hitch a ride.”

’Xu Yun was speechless. ’Even if you’re hitchhiking, you can’t just stand in the middle of the road. That’s so dangerous.’’

Just as he was about to roll down the window, he was stopped by a look from Lin Wanzhou.

”We’re in the middle of nowhere. We need to be careful. This could be a robbery.”

”...”

Xu Yun said, ”It’s one guy. You can’t handle him?”

”How do you know if there are more people hiding in that truck? Or whether they have weapons?”

Xu Yun said, ”It can’t be that lawless out here...”

”This isn’t like other places. It pays to be careful.”

Lin Wanzhou opened his window and said to the big-bearded man, ”Ah Zashi, show me your hands. Put them where I can see them.”

”Okay, okay.”

The big-bearded man raised his hands. ”I mean no harm. My car broke down. I just want to hitch a ride.”

”Are you alone?”

”No, my daughter is with me.”

Big Beard replied, ”She’s in the truck.”

”Have her come out. I need to confirm you’re not a threat.”

”Okay.”

Big Beard knew their caution was justified.

In fact, he had only mentioned his daughter after first making sure that Xu Yun and Lin Wanzhou didn’t look like bad people themselves.

Each side was wary of the other.

He turned his head and shouted, ”Anar Guli, it’s okay. You can come out.”

”Okay, Ada.”

The truck door opened, and a woman in a long dress got out from the back seat and walked over gracefully.

Her long dress was a deep, jewel-toned blue, inlaid with exquisite silverwork and colorful beads that gave it an air of rustic yet splendid beauty.

A wide belt, engraved with intricate patterns, was tied around her waist, outlining her slender figure.

A pair of exquisite silver earrings dangled from her earlobes, swaying gently with her steps.

”It’s fine. They should be okay.”

After glancing at the pickup truck one more time, Lin Wanzhou said to Xu Yun, ”You can open the door and let them on board.”

”Get on.” Xu Yun went to the main cabin and opened the door.

Seeing this, Big Beard led his daughter into the RV.

”Have a seat.” Xu Yun politely poured each of them a glass of water.

After a month on the road, they had long since finished all the drinks they’d originally stocked up on. There was nothing decent to buy out here. Aside from the most common bottled water, you couldn’t find anything else, no matter how much money you had.

Big Beard said gratefully, ”Thank you, Ah Zashi.”

”You’re welcome.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Where are you heading?”

”Kanas.”

Big Beard said, ”I didn’t expect the car to break down on the way.”

”No problem. We happen to be going there too. We’ll give you a ride.”

Xu Yun looked at the veiled woman across from him and teased, ”Your daughter must be very beautiful.”

”Anar Guli is the most beautiful girl in our town.”

Big Beard said with a hint of pride, ”Anar Guli, take off your veil.”

”Mm.”

At her father’s words, the woman removed her veil, looking at Xu Yun with a shy expression.

Xu Yun was instantly stunned by her beauty.

Her eyebrows were long and slender like willow leaves, a hint of playfulness and liveliness showing in their gentle arch.

The contours of her cheeks were gentle, her slightly high cheekbones sculpting a vivid, three-dimensional face. Her skin was as delicate as the finest white jade, glowing with a healthy, rosy tint.

Her nose was straight and exquisitely formed. Below it were perfectly shaped cherry lips, vividly colored yet retaining a sense of demureness.

Unlike the beauty of the Han people, hers was filled with a seductive, exotic charm.

’She was even more Reba than Dilreba.’

’No wonder she wears a veil when she goes out.’

Xu Yun snapped back to his senses and couldn’t help but praise, ”Your daughter is more beautiful than a movie star!”

’If only I could find a way to take her home!’
