Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”Not at all. I had a great time talking with your father today.”

Xu Yun said, ”I learned a lot about tea brewing and chess strategy. It was truly enlightening.”

”...”

Xi Huai’an looked a little awkward at Xu Yun’s flattery. He stood up to see him out. ”If you have time in the future, come over more often. Have a meal cooked by your aunt.”

”Of course, Uncle.”

”Xino, walk Xu Yun out for us.”

”Of course! I was going to walk him out even if you didn’t ask. He’s my boyfriend, after all.” Xino wrapped an arm around Xu Yun’s, acting incredibly affectionate.

Everyone was left speechless.

Once they were out of the villa complex, Xino’s family driver was already waiting with the car door open.

Xu Yun stopped. ”Alright, you can go back now.”

”Then give me a kiss first.”

Xu Yun glanced at the driver, who tactfully turned away. Xu Yun kissed her on the lips and smiled. ”There. Happy?”

”Mhm~ I have a surprise for you, too.”

Xino nodded happily again and again, then said, ”Quick, feel my stomach!”

”???” Xu Yun was baffled.

A surprise? Her stomach?

’Holy shit, she’s not pregnant, is she?’

’But we’ve never used protection, so the chances are actually pretty high!’

In that split second, a million things raced through his mind.

’Should we have it? Who’ll raise it? Am I going to have a shotgun wedding?’ All these questions and their chain reactions flashed through his thoughts...

He’d even thought of a name!

Finally, he took a deep breath and asked, ”Have you thought of a name yet?”

”What name?” Xino looked at him, completely confused.

Xu Yun said, ”The baby’s name. If you haven’t thought of one, I will.”

”What baby’s name? I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

”???”

Xu Yun asked, confused, ”Aren’t you pregnant with my child?”

”Who told you I was having your baby?”

Xino’s face instantly turned bright red. She lowered her voice, ”I mean, I’d like to have a baby with you, but we’re not even married yet.”

”You’re not pregnant?”

Xu Yun was speechless. ”Then why did you tell me to feel your stomach and say you had a surprise?”

”This is a hoodie. The pocket is on my stomach.”

Xino, realizing Xu Yun had misunderstood, said shyly, ”I wanted you to get my gift for you out of my pocket. It’s hard to do with one hand.”

Xu Yun was dumbfounded.

’Damn it, you scared the hell out of me!’

Honestly, he really wasn’t mentally prepared to be a father!

Xu Yun breathed a sigh of relief and quickly reached into Xino’s pocket to feel for the gift.

At this point, he wouldn’t even be scared if it were a grenade!

He pulled out a small, exquisite box with an English brand name on it.

Xu Yun asked, puzzled, ”What’s this?”

”Open it and see.”

Xu Yun opened it. Inside was a pure white watch.

”It’s a gift from my mom.”

Xino looked at the watch and smiled. ”She said since it was your first time visiting, she didn’t know what you’d like, so she bought this watch for you.”

”This watch looks expensive.”

”I don’t know. My mom didn’t say.”

Xino said, ”Quick, put it on and let me see how it looks.”

”Okay.”

As it happened, Xu Yun wasn’t wearing a watch today, so he put the new one on.

”Wow, that watch looks really good on you.”

”It does look pretty good.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”Please thank your aunt for me. I should get going now. You should head back inside; it’s getting a little cold out.”

”Okay.”

After leaving Xino’s house, the driver, Old He, glanced at the slightly tipsy Xu Yun in the rearview mirror. ”Young Master Xu,” he asked politely, ”where are we headed?”

His boss had instructed him earlier to take good care of the young man and get him to his destination safely, and his tone had been very serious.

It was clear this young man was no ordinary person. His family background and influence must be on par with his boss’s for him to be treated with such seriousness.

Xu Yun smiled. ”Uncle He, please take me to the FOREVER CLUB bar.”

”Please, don’t, Young Master Xu.”

Old He said a bit stiffly, ”Just call me Old He.”

”You’re my elder, so I should call you Uncle out of respect.”

Xu Yun added, ”If anything, I should be the one feeling awkward, making you work overtime this late.”

”You’re too kind, Young Master Xu.”

Old He chuckled. ”It’s my job. The boss pays me well, so I’m happy to work overtime.”

”Haha, so your boss is a capitalist with a conscience after all.”

Old He was silent.

He didn’t dare respond to a comment like that.

Perhaps because Xu Yun was so casual and approachable, Old He felt comfortable talking with him.

When they arrived at the bar, he said, ”Young Master Xu, forgive me for overstepping, but it looks like you had a fair bit to drink at the boss’s house. Going to a bar to drink more... I know you’re young and can handle it, but it’s not good for your health.”

”Don’t worry, I’m not going there to drink.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”I’m just meeting a couple of friends to discuss something, then I’m heading home.”

”Should I wait for you outside, then?”

”No need.”

Xu Yun said, ”Uncle He, you should head home early and be with your wife.”

”Alright then. You stay safe. I’ll be leaving now.”

Old He drove off and called Xi Huai’an on the way.

”Hello, Boss.”

”Is he home?”

”No.”

Old He hesitated for a moment before replying, ”Young Master Xu had me drop him off at an intersection on Beibin Road. He got out and said he wanted to walk for a bit to clear his head and sober up in the breeze.”

”Alright, I understand.”

After hanging up, Old He gave a wry smile. He didn’t know why he’d risked it to help Xu Yun cover his tracks.

’Was it because he called me Uncle He?’

After all, it was rare to see a rich young master who was so respectful. He’d been driving for the boss for over a decade, and the boss’s own son had never once called him that.

Not that his employer had ever mistreated him. His salary was always paid in full, and he even got a bonus now and then.

It was just that their interactions were completely devoid of any personal warmth. It was all cold and professional, not like the comfortable ease he’d just felt with Xu Yun!

The way Xu Yun treated people stemmed from a principle he’d read in a book.

At your lowest point, you must see yourself as human.

At your highest point, you must see the human you once were.

’Everyone’s the same. I’m just one of the lucky ones!’

The reason Xu Yun had suddenly changed his mind and come to the bar was that a promoter, Zhao Dong, had sent him a message: Li Jinshu and Su Mu, those two, had secretly come here for drinks.

’Who knows which one of them egged the other on!’

’How could he not show up!’

’The moment I’m not around, they start acting up, huh?’

As soon as he entered the bar, he saw the promoter, Zhao Dong, waiting for him. Zhao Dong walked over enthusiastically, calling out, ”Brother Xu, you’re here.”

’Brother Xu really is a big shot, but it’s been so long since he last came to the bar.’

’My sales numbers have been suffering!’

’Today, I finally found an excuse to get him to come back.’

Xu Yun asked, ”How long have they been here? Have they started drinking?”

”Half an hour. And yes, they’re drinking.”

Zhao Dong asked, ”Brother Xu, should I take you over now?”

”No need. Just get me a separate table near them.”

”Okay, Brother Xu. I’ll get it done right away. Please wait a moment.”

Soon, Zhao Dong had it all arranged. He led Xu Yun through the crowded floor to a secluded VIP booth on the second floor.

’Have to admit, this Zhao Dong guy is sharp. He knows how to get things done.’

The spot he’d chosen offered a clear view of his two women, but they wouldn’t easily notice him.

”Brother Xu, what are you drinking tonight?”

”Just bring me a bottle of champagne to start.”

Xu Yun warned him, ”And remember, tell your manager: I don’t want any fake liquor. Otherwise, don’t blame me for getting nasty.”

”Of course, Brother Xu. Don’t you worry.”

Zhao Dong promised, ”If you get served fake liquor on my watch, you can do whatever you want with me!”

”Good.”

Xu Yun nodded in satisfaction. ”How much more do you need for your sales quota this month? I’ll help you hit it tonight.”

”Thank you, Brother Xu!” Zhao Dong was ecstatic. ”I’ll go get your champagne right now. I hope you have a great time tonight, Brother!”

After Zhao Dong left, Xu Yun turned his attention to the two women at the table diagonally across from him.

Su Mu, in a long dress, sat on the sofa drinking, her eyes narrowed as she watched the writhing crowd on the stage below. Li Jinshu, however, was by the railing, swaying her sexy body to the DJ’s beat.

Xu Yun couldn’t help but chuckle. ”Heh, looks like they’re having a pretty good time.”
