This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

It’s been a long time since Du Heng has seen Liao Yuzhu and the child; he actually misses these two people a bit.

With Liao, Du Heng went to Liao Yuzhu’s house. Seeing the child again, he was surprised by the changes in both the child and Liao.

The child was chubby, with a cute, tigerish appearance, and especially those bright eyes that looked lively and playful.

Moreover, this child, upon seeing Du Heng, immediately reached out for a hug, without a hint of shyness.

His personality was quite unlike his father, instead, he resembled Liao Yuzhu, with a bit of an outgoing character.

However, the look in his eyes and features had a certain resemblance to his father Zhao Xinfang.

Du Heng estimated that if he continued to grow like this, his future appearance would likely be carved out from the same mold as Zhao Xinfang.

In a daze, Du Heng’s heart was filled with mixed emotions; there was happiness, joy, but also a touch of helplessness and gloom.

This lovable and heartaching child, when he grows up and learns of his father’s situation, Du Heng wonders if he’ll be able to accept it.

But seeing the child’s raised hands and listening to the babble he didn’t understand, Du Heng’s thoughts flashed by, and he happily cuddled the child.

At this moment, Liao Yuzhu’s face was no longer filled with the regret and loss of the past; now her face was full of happiness and satisfaction.

Before, Liao Yuzhu was very pretty, but a bit skinny, with a hint of gaunt beauty; even after having the child, this didn’t change much.

But now, she looked much more rounded.

This doesn’t mean she’s gotten fat, rather, she appears evenly balanced.

It’s clear that the tiny shadow in this girl’s heart has completely disappeared, which truly is something to be celebrated.

”Uncle.”

A not very clear call made Du Heng feel ecstatic, as he hugged the child and kissed his chubby cheek hard.

However, the child who had been very close to Du Heng since coming in showed a bit of unwillingness at this moment; with his chubby hands vigorously pushing against Du Heng’s chin, babbling nonstop.

Liao couldn’t bear to watch Du Heng’s actions and, seeing Du Heng trying to kiss the child despite his strong resistance, couldn’t help but remind him, ”Du, that’s enough, haven’t you noticed the kid resisting your actions?”

Du Heng was quite unwilling, protesting, ”Shouldn’t be, he was the one who asked me to hold him just now.”

Liao rolled his eyes, ”Have you forgotten how long it’s been since you shaved?

Your beard now looks like the bristles of a boar, leaving marks even on anti-theft doors, and you’re touching my nephew’s cheek; he’s giving you enough face by not crying.”

”Really?”

Du Heng touched his chin and cheeks in confusion, discovering that his beard indeed was very prickly and quite long.

Du Heng couldn’t help but glare at Kang Zhirong who came in with him, ”Why didn’t you remind me to shave? This is too embarrassing.”

Feeling slightly wronged by Du Heng’s complaint, Kang Zhirong pouted, ”Bro, you scolded me when I entered in the morning, I didn’t get a chance to speak.”

”You...” Du Heng said helplessly, ”And after that, surely I didn’t scold you, why didn’t you remind me while we were in the car?”

Kang Zhirong lowered his head abruptly, hesitatingly saying, ”I thought it looked quite good, especially when you were scolding me; with that beard, it was a bit sexy, so I...”

Du Heng almost fell over.

Sexy, my foot.

After glaring fiercely at Kang Zhirong, Du Heng handed the child to Liao Yuzhu, then turned to ask Kang Zhirong, ”Did you bring a razor? I need to shave, this appearance might scare my nephew.”

Kang Zhirong hurriedly shook his head, ”Why would I bring that when going out.”

At this moment, Liao beside him said, ”I’ll take you to the bathroom, there’s my shaver here.”

This is great news; Du Heng eagerly followed Liao to clean himself up.

A few minutes later, a clean and refreshed Du Heng emerged.

When he kissed his little nephew this time, the child didn’t resist and even laughed out loud.

After some casual chat, Du Heng looked at his cheerful little nephew, hesitated for a moment, but eventually asked the question he had been worrying about.

”Yu Zhu, have you taken the child for an epilepsy check-up?”

Liao Yuzhu didn’t resist this question much, directly smiling and replying, ”We had brain electric graph and nuclear magnetic resonance done, but the doctor said there was nothing abnormal.”

Du Heng nodded slightly, softly saying, ”The probability of epilepsy being hereditary is high; you can’t be careless, you need to be aware of this.

If we don’t find anything in the check-up, that’s the best result—but hopefully, it hasn’t been inherited.

But still, don’t let your guard down; keep a close watch and observe in daily life. If there are abnormal signs in limbs, smell, or hearing, make sure to notify me promptly, or go to the hospital immediately.”

Liao Yuzhu nodded seriously, ”I understand, Heng, I am very attentive to this in daily life and I have instructed the nanny, if anything seems amiss, to let me know right away.

Rest assured, I won’t delay.”
