This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

After Du Heng finished speaking, Director Wu nodded lightly and then said, ”Do you think bringing the professor back to work is something his body can handle?”

Du Heng immediately gave a positive response, ”That’s completely doable. And given Professor Lan’s current situation, I think going to work would be better for him than staying at home.”

Director Wu let out a sigh, ”Alright then, let’s arrange it like that. In a few days, when you leave, I’ll have the professor come back to take your place.

To be honest, with you leaving, it’s just me alone here. If I don’t have the professor back to hold the fort, I really feel a bit uneasy.”

Hearing Director Wu’s arrangement, Du Heng hurriedly asked, ”Director, have you asked Professor Lan for his opinion? Is the Elderly willing to come back to work?”

Director Wu immediately burst out laughing, ”You really don’t know the professor like I do; for him, being able to come back to work is the best thing possible.”

Thinking about Professor Lan’s conduct over the past three to four months, Du Heng also began to laugh.

This old man indeed can’t stand staying at home.

But after laughing, Du Heng seriously reminded Director Wu, ”Director, Professor Lan can certainly come back to work now, but he can’t handle the same high work intensity as before.

If he can work half a day, that would be best. And if he needs to do outpatient service, my suggestion is to limit the number; each outpatient session should ideally not exceed 30 patients.”

Director Wu wholeheartedly agreed with Du Heng’s advice, ”I’ve thought about that issue too. No matter whether the old man is willing or not, his outpatient sessions will be limited to between 22 and 30 patients. Any more than that is out of the question.”

Just as Director Wu was about to say more, he noticed the screen of Du Heng’s mobile phone light up, so he smiled and left.

Once Director Wu stepped out, Du Heng looked down at his phone and, seeing Gu Qinghong’s name, hesitated before answering the call.

”Hey Du, are you at work? Are you busy right now?” As soon as the call connected, Gu Qinghong’s soft and syrupy voice came through.

No one knows why Gu Qinghong always uses this soft tone of voice when talking to Du Heng.

Du Heng’s lips twitched slightly, unsure of what expression to make, so he softly asked, ”Not bad, not too busy. What’s up, anything wrong?”

Gu Qinghong’s voice was quite cheerful, ”Hey Du, remember that last time we went shopping, we ran into Mr. He?”

Du Heng thought for a moment, recalling who Gu Qinghong was talking about and couldn’t help asking, ”Of course I remember, what about it? Is he causing you trouble?”

”No, that guy actually came to the place where my aunt works today, starting to ask around about her.”

Upon hearing this, Du Heng was a bit surprised and couldn’t help but say, ”Could it be that this guy really wants to take revenge on us?”

Gu Qinghong suddenly burst out laughing at the other end, happily saying, ”Haha, I’m just afraid that guy wouldn’t try to take revenge on me.”

Upon hearing Gu Qinghong’s words, Du Heng felt a strong urge to hang up the phone, but he thought that would be impolite, so he asked again, ”Wait, you’re not afraid of him taking revenge, so why are you calling me?”

”I’m not afraid of him taking revenge, but what if he impulsively decides to retaliate against you? I’m calling to remind you.”

”Thanks for your concern, but he won’t have the chance. In a few days, I’m going on a business trip out of town for about two months; by the time I get back, he’ll have forgotten about me.”

Du Heng mimicked Gu Qinghong, giving two small laughs.

Whether this was serious or not, after discussing this, Gu Qinghong started to casually chat about other things, without the slightest intent to hang up.

This, however, made Du Heng feel quite uncomfortable.

After checking the time, Du Heng proactively said, ”Gu, I’ve got something to do later, let’s chat more some other time.”

After saying this, Du Heng quickly hung up the phone, letting out a gentle sigh, thinking silently, could it be that this woman really wants to change?

While Du Heng and Gu Qinghong were on the call, the main character of their conversation, Mr. He, was having a discussion with his backer—Fatty Luo, at a tea house.

Fatty Luo currently looked like a refined scholar, slowly rinsing and brewing tea with a teapot.

But from his pursed lips, slightly raised corners of his mouth, and those narrow eyes, everything seemed to remind Mr. He sitting across, that the old man was indeed in good spirits now.

”Have some tea.” After who knows how many rounds of gestures, Director Luo finally poured out water from the teapot.

But the cup he was pouring into was so tiny that even when filled to the brim, a single sip felt insufficient.

Mr. He, on the other hand, humbly picked up the brim-filled teacup and softly thanked him.

”Xiao He, you mentioned that piece of rhinoceros horn, haven’t heard from you about it in a few days now?” After pouring out a cup of tea, Director Luo finally put down the teapot and smiled, looking over at Mr. He.

Upon hearing the question, a slightly awkward smile appeared on Mr. He’s face, but he quickly said, ”Director Luo, I was just about to talk to you about that.”

Director Luo’s expression remained unchanged, still smiling amiably at Mr. He, ”Why, judging from your expression, couldn’t get the item?”
