This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Up to now, Gu Qinghong still hadn’t figured out why Du Heng was so furious, but seeing how Du Heng was completely disregarding anyone’s feelings, In Heart she instantly understood that Today This Thing was probably a pit.

Watching Du Heng turn around and leave without the slightest regard for appearances, In Heart Gu Qinghong glanced back at Mr. Wang, then hurriedly followed after him.

After catching up with Du Heng in just a few steps, She finally said, full of apology, ”Du, I’m really sorry, this fat guy has business dealings with my mom, so I figured he had to be reliable, that’s why I agreed to his request.

Don’t worry, Du, something like this won’t happen again.”

Listening to Gu Classmate’s slightly fawning apology, Du Heng’s expression still didn’t improve in the slightest. ”Gu Classmate, about Today This Thing, I don’t want to say too much In Heart Now.

But please pass a message to this friend of yours: once I go back, I’ll start collecting evidence and then report him to the relevant Department.

I hope that before I report him, he can realize his mistake and hurry up and get himself onto a legal,正规 road.”

Hearing what Du Heng said, Gu Qinghong was dumbfounded on the spot and asked in slight surprise, ”You’re going to report Mr. Wang?”

”Of course I’m going to report him.” Du Heng’s reply was firm as a nail. ”You might not know what nodule disease is, but as a Doctor, I can’t go against my conscience.”

Du Heng’s attitude was very resolute, and when he said this, he didn’t care about Gu Qinghong’s face at all, unlike before.

He left the restaurant without the slightest pause and drove straight home.

Once he got home, Du Heng immediately turned on the computer and started searching online for the compound that Mr. Wang had mentioned.

Very quickly, Du Heng found what he needed, but as he looked at the product’s vague introduction and instructions, his decision In Heart became even more firm.

He also tracked down the science bloggers Mr. Wang had mentioned, and after finding the relevant ads in their Videos, listening to those righteous-looking faces solemnly talking about what’s good for the Patient while sparing no effort in pushing this medicine, Du Heng suddenly felt nauseated.

Du Heng went through these people’s Videos; their early content was all that sort of ”full of positive energy” stuff.

Although some of them had misunderstandings and hostility toward traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese herbal medicine, overall what they said, the scientific content they popularized, was correct and genuinely for the Patient’s benefit.

But Now, one by one, they were all hyping up this medicine that supposedly eliminates nodules, their integrity practically smashed all over the floor.

Especially those bloggers who had previously bad-mouthed Traditional Chinese Medicine in their Videos, Now could still shamelessly brag about how amazing this Chinese herbal medicine compound was; they really didn’t want even a scrap of face.

However, while he was going through them, Du Heng also noticed a very interesting point: these people all shared a common feature—they had all signed with the same MCN Agency.

MCN is a very fashionable industry abbreviation; it stands for ”multi-channel network.”

But to put it bluntly, it’s just a middleman, an entity that connects influencers with products.

With such an agency, for influencers, monetizing becomes a very easy thing.

Du Heng had also been approached by this kind of agency before, and they’d offered conditions that would make anyone jealous.

But at the same time, they had requirements: whatever products the company gave you, you had to promote, with very little room for choice. You could say that once you signed the contract, you’d no longer be in control of yourself.

So, if you want to do science outreach, you can’t go signing with any MCN, guild, or whatever. If you sign with that sort of agency, it’s impossible to do any pure science outreach.

Of course, making money without shivering in shame—being able to earn money is their ability.

But waving the banner of ”for others’ good,” wearing a professionally certified blue V, cashing in on the Hospital behind them, yet making money against their conscience—that’s a bit inhuman.

Du Heng wrote down the names of every blogger who had done ads for this, not missing a single one, and downloaded backups of the relevant Videos before calling Lawyer Zhou.

Lawyer Zhou was coaxing the Child at that moment. When she got Du Heng’s phone, she handed the Child over to her husband In Hand beside her.

After Du Heng finished explaining Things, Lawyer Zhou said, ”Got it, Doctor Du. In a bit, send the Materials you collected to my Email box; you don’t need to worry about the rest, just leave it to me.

Within at most a week, I’ll definitely give you a satisfactory answer.”

Let professional people handle professional matters.

And Du Heng and Lawyer Zhou had already worked together many times; they could trust each other, so since Lawyer Zhou said to leave it to her, Du Heng completely relaxed In Heart.

But since the call was already connected, Du Heng took the chance to ask about Kang Zhirong’s Things. ”Lawyer Zhou, how is Xiao Kang’s case being handled Now?”

Lawyer Zhou replied easily, ”We’ve already obtained evidence from the Hospital and are preparing to have a talk with the other side tomorrow.”

”Then how much do you think Xiao Kang will end up having to compensate?”

”My bottom line In Heart is 10,000 yuan, and it absolutely can’t go over 20,000 yuan.”

On the other end of the phone, Du Heng frowned slightly. ”The evidence is in our favor, and we covered all the medical expenses—how come it’s still that much?”

Lawyer Zhou explained softly, ”According to normal standards, Xiao Kang’s case completely meets the criteria for the crime of intentional injury.

But your wife stepped in, and I also pulled some strings, plus the other side’s primary goal is money, so no measures have been taken against Xiao Kang Now.

With conditions like these, a 20,000 yuan settlement, that figure I think is acceptable.”

Du Heng hummed lightly. ”All right, you’re the professional, Lawyer Zhou; I’ll trouble you to keep a closer eye on it.”

Hearing Du Heng being so polite, Lawyer Zhou chuckled. ”Doctor Du, we’re friends; you don’t need to be so formal. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure this is handled to Everyone’s satisfaction.”

The next morning, Lawyer Zhou first went to the law firm to arrange what Du Heng had told her Last night, then took the prepared Materials and went to the Hospital with Kang Zhirong.

By the time they arrived at the Hospital, the other side’s lawyer was already there, apparently well-prepared.

But looking at the young lawyer opposite her, Lawyer Zhou didn’t take him seriously at all.

Taking out her already fixed evidence, Lawyer Zhou directly laid down her terms: all medical expenses prior to the Infection would be borne by Kang Zhirong, and he would pay 10,000 yuan in compensation to the other side.

But this proposal clearly couldn’t satisfy the other party.

Their initial demand was nearly 190,000; after bargaining it dropped to just 10,000—this was slashing the price a bit too hard.

This was exactly when the necessity of hiring a lawyer became apparent.

Unfortunately, the lawyer they’d hired clearly didn’t have the skills of Lawyer Zhou; after just a few exchanges, he was already struggling to respond.

Seeing Things about to be settled, the man On the sick bed couldn’t hold back anymore and cut in, ”I did go out, but I didn’t do anything after I left, so my wound getting infected has nothing to do with whether I went out or not.”

Lawyer Zhou smiled faintly and looked at the man On the sick bed. ”You didn’t follow the medical advice and violated the Hospital’s rules, so for any accident that happens, you have to take responsibility yourself.

And you say you didn’t do anything—how do we know you’re not lying? We are fully entitled to suspect that you’re fabricating evidence in your favor.”

”How do I not have evidence?” the man On the sick bed shouted, pointing at Xie Kaiyao beside Kang Zhirong. ”The day I left the Hospital, I was with her the whole Time.

Ask her—let her tell you whether I did anything.

You don’t believe what I say, but she’s one of your own; you’ll believe what she says, right?”

The man On the sick bed then turned to look at Xie Kaiyao. ”Say it. Tell your boss what I did that day.”
