This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Then he said proudly, ”Let me tell you, if it weren’t for a few of us pulling on the rope and not letting go, those below who were pushing the coffin might have been smashed directly to death.”

Zhang Sumei said nothing, just gently holding Du Ping’s arm, walking slowly out together.

Kang Zhirong saw that Du Ping was okay, so he wasn’t as worried and distressed as Zhang Sumei. Hearing Du Ping’s description at this moment, he became curious about one thing, ”Big brother, the coffin overturned, you all went to the hospital, so isn’t the deceased elder being buried?”

Du Ping’s body slightly bent, keeping his arm away from his body, ”All the injured were arranged to go to the hospital, those uninjured continued handling the burial proceedings.”

”The old man didn’t fall out of the coffin?”

”How could he not fall out, the coffin cracked open from the fall.”

Kang Zhirong, while asking questions he was curious about, always realized that when Du Ping answered his questions, he was subconsciously protecting his side rib, keeping it away from his arm, away from Zhang Sumei’s hand.

This observation caught Kang Zhirong’s attention, prompting him to intentionally observe Du Ping’s side rib situation, leading him to notice a faint blood stain on Du Ping’s shirt at the side rib position.

”Big brother, don’t leave just yet.”

Observing the issue, Kang Zhirong voiced out, stopping Du Ping, and then turned to Du Ping’s left side rib, gently lifting the shirt.

Now everyone saw clearly the situation on the left rib, a ten-centimeter-long abrasion, with intermittent bleeding points on the wound.

Besides, there was another abrasion beside it, but this one didn’t have bleeding points, it just scraped the skin into a heap, exposing a shiny oil layer underneath, looking quite discomforting.

However, these weren’t the most serious issues.

The most severe was that Du Ping’s left rib showed a very obvious purplish color, and it was swelling.

Kang Zhirong lightly furrowed his brows, ”Big brother, how did this happen?”

Du Ping still maintained an indifferent demeanor, laughing as he spoke, ”It’s probably when the rope pulled me down that I hit a stone on the ground.

Just a hard hit, it’s fine.”

Though Du Ping said it was fine, Kang Zhirong didn’t think so.

Even though he wasn’t a professional doctor, he had spent several years hanging around the hospital, and now also responsible for recording Du Heng’s medical videos, subtly influenced, he did not think this visible swelling was a small issue.

”Big brother, let’s go to orthopedics, let them take an X-ray for a check-up,” Kang Zhirong promptly made his suggestion as he got up.

But Du Ping stubbornly insisted that it’s a minor issue, just a bump, no big problem.

However, no matter how stubborn Du Ping was, he couldn’t overcome Zhang Sumei and Kang Zhirong.

The two of them forcibly dragged Du Ping to the Orthopedic Clinic.

Just as the orthopedist started checking, Du Ping let out a heavy muffled groan.

After the doctor finished examining, he informed Zhang Sumei and others, suspecting that Du Ping’s left lower third rib might be fractured.

Because this fracture location is particularly close to the heart, they must take an X-ray to accurately determine the method of treatment.

Upon hearing that his rib was fractured, Du Ping also dropped his stubborn demeanor, obediently following Zhang Sumei and Kang Zhirong for the check-up.

It was while they waited in line for the check-up that the call from Wu Shengnan, which hadn’t been answered, finally came through.

Zhang Sumei hurriedly explained the situation, ”Nannan, please take a leave, go pick up the Child, your big brother still has to do the check-up, it’ll take a while for the results to come out.”

On the other end of the line, Wu Shengnan hesitated for a while, seemingly unsure of what to decide.

Just as Zhang Sumei couldn’t help but urge again, Wu Shengnan finally agreed, telling Zhang Sumei to take good care of big brother in the hospital, she would go pick up the Child.

After receiving Wu Shengnan’s affirmative response, Zhang Sumei clearly relaxed with a sigh, now only needing to focus on taking care of Du Ping.

After the X-ray was taken, the doctor also gave a clear result; Du Ping’s rib was indeed fractured, but the good news was that the bone was not displaced, no need for surgical treatment, just convalescence at home.

This outcome made everyone breathe a sigh of relief, especially Du Ping, who laughed, ”See, I told you it was nothing, you all were making a big fuss over nothing, what a waste of money.”

Zhang Sumei rolled her eyes and started arguing with Du Ping, while Kang Zhirong walked to one side to start calling Jin Zan.

He knew that Jin Zan was Du Heng’s good brother and a minorly famous orthopedic expert, now that Du Heng wasn’t around, consulting Jin Zan’s opinion seemed best.

After hearing about the situation, Jin Zan immediately requested Kang Zhirong to bring Du Ping to the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he would be waiting for them in the office.

Upon hearing Kang Zhirong’s arrangement, Du Ping immediately expressed his displeasure, ”Oh come on, the doctor here said it’s fine, why bother Dr. Jin.

Moreover, Nannan doesn’t know what time she can get back, we should go pick up the Child earlier, that’s the main priority.”

But this excuse was apparently invalid, and Zhang Sumei and Kang Zhirong dragged him directly to the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Meanwhile, Du Wangyou was being held by Min in her arms, feeding with a baby bottle.

Beside them, Wu Zhou seemed to be very fond of the Child, always staying close to Min, his eyes shining as he watched Du Wangyou drinking milk.

When Du Wangyou finished drinking, Wu Zhou softly said, ”Min, let me hold him for a while.”

Min laughed as she glanced at Wu Zhou, ”Oh, you’re still a Girl, the Child is too young, you don’t know how to hold him.

Let me tell you, children this young are very fragile, all their bones are soft, one careless move and you could sprain your waist or twist their neck.”

Wu Zhou stretched his hand gently to touch Du Wangyou’s cheek, feeling the delicate softness with his fingertips, his eyes were filled with overflowing maternal love.

”Min, you teach me then, teach me how to hold this little one.” Wu Zhou pleaded again.

Min chuckled without speaking, her gaze quietly shifted towards Hong who sat at the counter.

Both Min and Hong were aware of Wu Zhou’s situation.

On the surface, they wouldn’t express contempt or rejection, but deep in their hearts, they always kept a respectful distance from those with a past record.

Especially someone like Wu Zhou who deceived even the elderly, they regarded Wu Zhou as a shameless, bottomless con artist.

So, in their subconscious, they were guarded against Wu Zhou.

For instance, until now, they never allowed Wu Zhou behind the cash register, never let Wu Zhou work alone.

Hong certainly understood what Min’s glance meant, but upon seeing Wu Zhou at that moment, she felt somewhat softened, not wanting to make it too obvious, she lightly nodded.

Min laughed lightly and began to guide Wu Zhou to settle into position, carefully placing the Child into her hands, instructing how to hold him.

Wu Zhou joyfully sat in position, following Min’s instructions, gingerly holding Du Wangyou.

Soon, she was looking at Du Wangyou with a constant motherly smile.

It was easy to see Wu Zhou truly liked children, but Min always stood in front of Wu Zhou, teaching her how to hold the Child while playing with the him.

As time passed, customers began arriving at the store, prompting Min to rise and attend to them, finally giving Wu Zhou and the Child some alone time.

As the sun set, with no sunlight visible in the pharmacy, Wu Zhou stood up with the sleeping Du Wangyou, ”Hong, I’ll take the Child outside to get some sunshine, it’s a bit too gloomy in the store.”

Hong came out from the cash register, smiling as she took the Child from Wu Zhou’s hands, ”Don’t be fooled by the sunlight outside, the temperature has dropped, and it’s very noisy outside, might scare a sleeping Child.

Go help your Min, I’ll hold the Child at the cash register.”
