This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Going to the operating room?

This is a suggestion that made Du Heng feel a bit excited but also held a trace of resistance in his heart.

Curious about surgery? As a doctor, whether it’s TCM or Western Medicine Doctor, you are indeed quite curious.

Moreover, for yourself, can you say you are capable of surgery? You could say yes, but it’s more like your brain knows but your hands don’t.

Additionally, that sense of fear towards flesh and blood, though somewhat alleviated, the feeling of disgust and repulsion deep down seems impossible to fundamentally eliminate.

But he is truly curious and really wants to see a surgical operation firsthand.

Hesitating for a moment, Du Heng slyly asked Director Wu, ”Is this okay?”

Director Wu laughed directly, ”What’s not okay about this? Sir Huang invites you there just to observe, not for you to perform surgery.

At that time, just follow the rules of the operating room, whatever they say, just do it, watch honestly, there will be no problem at all.”

Lu Heng pursed his lips, ”Gently rubbing his hands, ’Alright, then I’ll take a look.’”

”Alright, you should go to General Surgery Department now, Sir Huang is waiting for you there.” After saying that, Director Wu left Du Heng’s office, while Du Heng with an anxious yet excited heart, headed towards General Surgery Department.

There are many rules in the operating room, just entering and disinfecting took Du Heng quite a few minutes.

In the operating room, Du Heng did as he imagined, just like an apprentice, standing quietly to the side, watching Sir Huang and the chief surgeon of the day start marking on the patient.

The site of incision on the patient was already determined before surgery. Everyone just formally mentioned and pointed at it, then the chief surgeon picked up the pen to start marking.

But just when about to proceed, Sir Huang suddenly stopped the chief surgeon, signaling him to move the agreed incision site a few centimeters to the side and re-mark.

The chief surgeon was the Deputy Director of General Surgery Department and was famed especially in the mammary gland area. Hearing Sir Huang wanted to change the incision position made him slightly surprised.

But it was just a moment of surprise, and then he gently started to make the mark according to Sir Huang’s indicated position.

Du Heng was not involved at all, he was just like a spectator watching quietly from the side.

Du Heng still pondered through today’s observation, whether he could adapt to such surgical operations. If internally he could fully embrace such scenes of muscle tissue separation, maybe he could consider developing in this direction.

Yet regrettably, when the chief surgeon picked up the scalpel, cutting through the skin, separating the muscle tissues, Du Heng’s nervous system reacted involuntarily, his entire nervous muscles stiffening, even his fingers began to tremble.

Upon seeing the patient’s muscles below the ribs completely separated, revealing the rib bones, Du Heng couldn’t endure anymore, turned his head, took deep breaths, trying to calm down.

Forget it, I can’t be the kind of doctor who can do surgery.

Du Heng sighed lightly in his heart.

After taking a few deep breaths, adjusting his emotions, Du Heng slowly turned back, looking once again at the operating table.

And at this moment, along the incision line, Du Heng could finally see the detailed lesion.

Him and Sir Huang’s diagnosis were not wrong, the patient indeed has cancer, breast cancer.

Likewise, looking at the incision appearance, Du Heng also understood why both the B-ultrasound report and MRI report showed no anomaly.

Because this patient’s mammary gland tumor was not located at the breast but already very close to the position below the left ribs.

Given this position, regular X-ray examinations can’t capture the lesion location at all.

The examination can’t detect it unless you already know and deliberately make the patient pose.

Du Heng glanced at Sir Huang, silently praised in his heart, indeed the older the wiser, the experience is too rich.

Not only can accurately diagnose the presence of cancer but also pinpoint the exact lesion location through examination, all without machines.

Who says Western medicine without machines cannot treat diseases? Look at the present Sir Huang, he is the best example.

Sadly, with technological advancement and medical equipment evolution, such doctors will become rarer.

After looking at the calm Sir Huang, Du Heng shifted his gaze back to the operating table.

But as the chief surgeon started operating on the lesion area, the calm emotions Du Heng just managed to regain were uncontrollable again.

So helpless, Du Heng once again turned his gaze away from the operating table.

Simultaneously sighing silently in his heart, choosing traditional Chinese medicine was the most correct decision of his life.

If he had chosen Western medicine at the time, he wouldn’t be able to earn a living now. To say it bluntly, perhaps he would be with the Big brother, carrying cement, bricks, and building walls.

The surgery time was long, and because of the surgical instruments used, the operating room was always filled with an indescribable smell.
