This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Critical Illness Notification?

Du Heng’s heart was clutched tightly.

And Wu Shengnan, who followed behind, collapsed directly onto the ground upon seeing the words on the paper.

”Director Du, let’s go to the adjacent room for detailed discussion.”

It was the Director of the Emergency Department who came out, and Du Heng knew him.

But Du Heng did not move his steps, and instead took another look at the Critical Illness Notification in hand, asking in a deep voice, ”Director Liu, what exactly is the situation with my daughter now?

Just say it here, these are all my family members.

Moreover, I am a doctor, I know what to do.”

Director Liu clasped his hands in front of his lower abdomen, thought for a moment, and then no longer insisted on going to the talk room, but said directly, ”Director Du, you already understood the situation when the child was sent here, so I won’t go into details. I’ll talk about the things after that.”

Director Liu stared into Du Heng’s eyes and said one word at a time, ”After several directors discussed, and related check-ups revealed, the child has blood poisoning.”

Blood poisoning?

Du Heng was shocked for a moment.

Blood poisoning, simply put, is when bacteria and viruses from the infected lesion site enter the blood circulation. The blood-borne toxins can directly destroy the blood cells in the blood, causing systemic persistent high fever, sweating, weak pulse, or shock symptoms.

Du Heng hurriedly asked, ”Where did my daughter get infected? Was she injured?”

Director Liu shook his head, ”The child was not injured, but the child caught a cold.”

Seeing Du Heng about to ask more, Director Liu spoke ahead, ”After thoroughly investigating the child’s condition, we administered appropriate medicine treatment.

Initially, it was effective, but after a period, the condition relapsed.

Coma, persistent high fever, and during which there were two occurrences of opisthotonos.

Most severely, the child has shown symptoms of respiratory failure.”

Respiratory failure refers to severe impairment of lung ventilation and gas exchange functions. It is a state of dysfunction, not a disease.

It can be caused by lung disease, or as a severe complication of various major diseases.

Director Liu knew Du Heng could understand and directly used some professional medical terms, hoping to quickly and accurately describe the current situation.

After saying this, Director Liu saw Du Heng not speaking, glanced at everyone behind him, and softly said to Du Heng, ”Director Du, you are also a doctor. The situation is already like this, I hope you can mentally prepare yourself.”

I prepare you...

Wu Shengnan, Sister-in-law, and Mother-in-law behind started crying softly.

It was clear that they were trying hard to restrain their emotional outbreak.

Anxiety flashed through Du Heng’s heart, as he stared at Director Liu and said, ”Director Liu, I have just one question.”

”Director Du, please speak.”

”How much chance do you think there is now?”

Du Heng was vague, but Director Liu immediately understood, Du Heng was asking how likely the child could be saved.

Not saying it explicitly was probably to avoid some sensitive words that might further upset the women behind him?

Director Liu’s mind quickly thought, but his mouth softly said, ”Fifty-fifty.”

Fifty-fifty?

Does that mean no assurance, no chance?

Du Heng took a deep breath.

A two-month-old baby, blood poisoning, respiratory failure, saying fifty-fifty might be acceptable to others, but Du Heng could not accept it.

”Director Liu, since you don’t have confidence, I’ll do it myself.” After Du Heng said this seriously, he swiftly turned and walked into the emergency room.

Director Liu urgently called out, ”Director Du, don’t be impulsive.”

Du Heng replied without turning back, ”I’ll save my daughter; any issues that arise have nothing to do with you.

I’ll take all the responsibility myself.”

”Hey.” Director Liu sighed heavily and quickly followed Du Heng inside.

”Xiao Heng, why did you come in?” Inside, Li Jianwei frowned intensely, discussing with several others, and caught sight of Du Heng with the corner of his eyes.

Du Heng’s facial muscles twitched slightly, ”Teacher, I came to see the child.”

Li Jianwei reached out to try to stop him, but halfway, he sighed and withdrew his hand.

The others simply nodded at Du Heng and made way for him to move to the front.

In Du Heng’s impression, his daughter was fair and plump, her little face chubby. Although she spent most of the time sleeping, she was full of vitality and vigor, especially her small mouth constantly moving, as if always searching for her ’granary.’

But now, what he saw was a thin, cyanotic, dull, lifeless little child, and all visible skin was marked with dark red spots.

Du Heng clamped his mouth tightly and took two steps forward, bending down to be close to his daughter.

Upon nearing again, Du Heng found more issues.

There were slight convulsions, and the time intervals were very short; just in the one or two minutes he entered, he noticed it twice.

Stretching out his hand to lightly lift the small blanket from her body, he touched her chest, which was rising and falling rapidly, chest and abdomen feverishly hot, hands and feet cold.

Gently parting the mouth, what he saw were cracked lips, a crimson tongue rising with prickly spots.
