This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

”Mom, I’m late. I’m heading to work now. Please take Xiao Yi to class.”

Right after Zhang Sumei welcomed Wu Zhou into the house, Du Xuejing dashed out like a whirlwind, grabbing a bun from the table on her way.

”Good morning, sis.”

Even when she was about to leave, she greeted Wu Zhou, who had just come in.

Zhang Sumei said a bit embarrassedly, ”This is my oldest daughter, working a holiday job at the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital. She’s always so scatterbrained and quirky.”

Wu Zhou laughed cheerfully as he followed Zhang Sumei inside, ”Going to work is important. You can’t be late.”

”I mean, you’ve come to check on Du for several days in a row now. It’s rare for you to get a day off. Why not stay home, sleep in, or go out on a date? Why come to see Du again.”

”Sister Zhang, I’ve gotten used to waking up at 6:30 every morning while inside. Now I can’t sleep in even if I want to.

Plus, I want to date too, but I barely know anyone. I need you to introduce someone to me.”

Hearing Wu Zhou talk about the past, Zhang Sumei was a bit lost for words, always feeling that talking about past things might upset Wu Zhou or make him overthink.

It wasn’t until she heard the last part that Zhang Sumei laughed and responded, ”Alright, as long as you have this idea, I’ll keep an eye out. I’ll definitely introduce you to a reliable and good young man.”

Wu Zhou put down the fruit in his hand and sweetly said, ”Then I’ll trouble Sister Zhang with my lifelong happiness.”

Just as he finished, Du Yi rushed out from the bathroom, already dressed, anxiously scanned the living room, and said to Zhang Sumei, ”Mom, where’s my sister? She said she’d take me to class. Where is she?”

Zhang Sumei replied a bit exasperatedly, ”Stop looking. Your sister already ran off.” She gave Du Yi a glance, ”Why are you so polite, not even saying hi to anyone?”

Hearing Zhang Sumei’s words, the anxious Du Yi quickly and respectfully greeted Wu Zhou.

But right after, Du Yi urgently asked again, ”Mom, please take me to class. I’m almost late.”

Just then, the sound of a baby crying came from the bedroom.

This threw Zhang Sumei into a fluster, not knowing what to do first.

At this moment, Wu Zhou suddenly said, ”Sister Zhang, how about you stay home with the baby? Just tell me where Xiao Yi’s class is, and I’ll take him.”

Zhang Sumei was a bit tempted but also felt more embarrassed. Who sends someone out to do chores just after they arrive?

Furthermore, Wu Zhou is just an employee at her store, not a family tenant farmer.

Even though Zhang Sumei now acts the part of a boss’s wife, deep down, she hasn’t fully accepted being a boss.

She always feels that having employees do personal chores is very unethical.

Wu Zhou seemed to have picked up on Zhang Sumei’s hesitations, so he directly said to Du Yi, ”Xiao Yi, do you know where the class is? Let sister take you to class.”

Du Yi didn’t have as many thoughts as Zhang Sumei. All he wanted now was to hurry and leave, ”I know the place and which bus to take, just need to switch buses. Mom doesn’t trust me.”

Wu Zhou laughed and said, ”Alright then, as long as you know the way, your sister will definitely get you there.”

Wu Zhou said and started moving with Du Yi.

Zhang Sumei, still feeling that having a guest like Wu Zhou take a child was inappropriate, quickly stopped him.

”Xiao Wu, I’ll take him myself. It’s a bit far and winding, you might not find it.” Zhang Sumei said a bit bashfully, ”But I do have a little favor to ask.”

Wu Zhou, with a broad smile, replied, ”Sister Zhang, please don’t be so polite. I came today to help you, just tell me what I can do.”

Seeing the already impatient Du Yi, Zhang Sumei hurriedly pointed to the table in the living room, ”There’s some prepared formula. Could you please feed the baby? I’ll be straight back after I drop this boy at his tutoring class.”

”Then, Sister Zhang, hurry up! Don’t let the child be late.” Wu Zhou chuckled, ”I love taking care of babies.”

”Thank you so much, Xiao Wu.” Zhang Sumei felt her face flush, uncomfortable having an employee do her personal errands, ”Xiao Wu, just feed the baby. Don’t worry about Du, let him lie down in the other room.”

”Got it, Sister Zhang, you should hurry and take Xiao Yi.” Wu Zhou assured.

Du Heng was unaware of what was happening back home.

He didn’t even know Wu Shengnan had gone back to work.

All his energy was focused on the upcoming lecture.

But just as he was about to leave, Sun Jiaxiang called him over.

Looking at Du Heng, radiating with vitality, Sun Jiaxiang smiled and asked, ”Are you ready to go?”

Du Heng nodded lightly, ”Sir Sun, this is my first time doing something like this. I’m feeling quite uncertain.

You’ve seen and experienced a lot, Elderly. Share some wisdom so I avoid any pitfalls.”
