This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Mr. He nodded gently, then softly described what had happened that evening.

When Mr. He finished speaking, the smile on Director Luo’s face suddenly disappeared, and his expression slowly turned dark. ”What did you say that guy’s name was?”

”Du Heng, that’s the name he told me himself. And he also told me he works at Hao Pengyou Hospital, and that you know him as well.” While speaking, Mr. He carefully watched Director Luo’s expression.

As soon as Mr. He finished, he heard Director Luo let out a cold laugh. ”Know him? Of course I know him, he’s a big expert. And a big expert who’s latched onto a big thigh. How could I possibly not know him?”

”Then…” Mr. He looked at Director Luo hesitantly.

Another cold laugh from Director Luo. ”This guy, he has good skills and he’s hugged a big thigh, and he really thinks he’s some kind of badass, dares to repeatedly refuse to give me face.

Don’t worry about it, you don’t need to bother with his matter, I’ll take my time ’conditioning’ him.

When the time comes, he’ll be coming to beg me in tears.”

Seeing that Director Luo didn’t pursue the fact that he hadn’t bought the stuff, Mr. He couldn’t help quietly letting out a breath of relief. As for the matter of Gu Qinghong, Mr. He had absolutely no intention of bringing it up.

Watching Director Luo take an unhurried sip of tea, Mr. He bent down to pick up his Bag from the floor. ”Director Luo, congratulations on your promotion.

This is a new gift I carefully selected; see if it suits your Heart? If you don’t like it, I’ll help you change it for another one.”

Seeing what Mr. He took out, Director Luo finally brightened up again and burst out laughing. ”I like it, of course I like it.”

Hearing Director Luo’s hearty laughter, Mr. He also laughed along, silently thinking, as long as you like it, that’s all that matters.

After Director Luo accepted the gift, the two of them started chatting about everything under the sun.

Meanwhile, Du Heng, after hanging up the phone, simply didn’t take what Gu Qinghong had said to Heart. To be honest, he didn’t believe for a second that that Mr. He would come to take revenge on him.

So he just did what he usually did, opened a Book and prepared to do some Studying for a while.

Right up until it was almost time to get off Work, Du Heng suddenly received an emergency call from the outpatient service; it was from Cao Binghe.

”What’s going on?” When he arrived at the consultation room and saw a middle-aged woman sitting in front of Cao Binghe, with no one else around, Du Heng asked directly.

Seeing Du Heng arrive, Cao Binghe also let out a long breath of relief, then introduced Du Heng to the Patient in front of him.

Then he began to present the Patient’s situation. ”Deputy Director Du, the Patient is 36 years old, says she’s had lower back pain for 4 years.

She’s been to the Department of Western Medicine for a Check-up, did all sorts of tests, but nothing abnormal was found.

She’s also seen traditional Chinese medicine, and has taken a ton of Chinese herbal medicine, but there’s been absolutely no improvement.

And recently, the back pain has actually gotten worse. As soon as she bends over a bit to do some Work, her whole lower back becomes sore and painful.

These past few days the pain’s been unbearable, and since they really couldn’t get a clear diagnosis locally, she had no choice but to come to the Capital.”

After listening to Cao Binghe, Du Heng couldn’t help blinking twice: these last two days have been bizarre, nothing but tricky cases that machines can’t detect.

With a silent sigh in his Heart, Du Heng examined the Patient himself, then asked her to describe again how she felt during an attack, and used his hands to do a physical Check-up.

But when the Check-up was done, Du Heng once again furrowed his brows.

Only this time, the frown was completely different from the previous ones over the past few days. Because after finishing the Check-up, he realized this Patient basically wasn’t sick; she was just simply deficient.

Du Heng didn’t jump to a conclusion that quickly, though. Instead, he asked the Patient for the inspection sheet and Treatment records in her In hand, and started reading through them.

On top were the Patient’s traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis records and Treatment records.

And as luck would have it, Du Heng actually did see that a TCM had also diagnosed her as deficient.

Seeing that diagnosis result, Du Heng let out a soft laugh. So there are still some reliable colleagues out there.

But as his gaze slowly moved downward and he saw the actual prescription, his eyeballs almost popped out.

There was even a moment where he wanted to give himself two hard slaps. Why had he rushed to make such a self-slapping conclusion?

Taking a deep breath, Du Heng turned to Cao Binghe and asked, ”Dr. Cao, have you seen this record?”

Cao Binghe’s expression also looked a bit ugly, but he still nodded.

Du Heng took another deep breath and slowly asked, ”What do you think of it?”

Cao Binghe just gave a wry smile and shook his head, not saying a single word.

Du Heng didn’t press him further, instead turning his gaze back to the prescription in front of him.

Was the prescription wrong?

Yes, and no.

In fact, the biggest problem with this prescription isn’t simply right or wrong; it’s that it’s too damn heavy.

An entire sheet of prescription paper, from the top left to the bottom right, ten horizontal lines, six vertical columns, filled entirely with names of Chinese herbal medicine. So much so that all the remaining blank space on the prescription paper combined probably doesn’t add up to two square centimeters.

Written way too densely, way too much.

Just a rough count, and it’s already close to sixty kinds of Medicine Ingredients. Add in those few herbs squeezed in at the end, and it’s pushing seventy kinds of Medicine Ingredients.

When Du Heng added up all the dosages at the back, the final number made his Heart give a hard jolt.

1,175 grams.

1 kilogram, that is, 1 kilogram.

And that’s just the weight of one dose, and the Patient has to take thirty doses of this.

Just for a simple deficiency, do you really need such a heavy dose?

Even if it were livestock, you still couldn’t use medication like this.

Du Heng couldn’t help letting out a bitter smile.

All these Years before and after, he’d been on the job for 10 Years, had seen all sorts of traditional Chinese medicine doctors, and he himself was quite familiar with the various TCM schools.

But after going through the whole prescription and racking his brains, he still couldn’t find a single school that could back this prescription.

The classical remedies school?

Impossible. The classical remedies school is famous for streamlined medication, focused on specialized herbs with powerful effects. Use this many herbs, and the old masters of the classical remedies school would be breaking out of their coffins.

Then maybe the Febrile Disease School?

Think about it, also impossible.

Although the Febrile Disease School is often criticized by Everyone, their hallmark is using four ounces of force to move 1,000 kilograms. That’s also why Du Heng often uses the Febrile Disease School’s concepts to Treat disease.

Thinking through the other TCM schools, he still couldn’t find a single one that matched this kind of prescribing style.

If he had to force a classification, Du Heng felt this school should be called the Money-grabbing School.

Because no matter how you look at this prescription—up, down, left, right—aside from the word ”money,” you can’t see anything else.

Sixty or seventy kinds of medicine thrown together, you really expect it to cure disease? To still have any efficacy?

Do you not need to consider the mutual reinforcement and restriction of the medicinal properties? Don’t you need to combine it with the Patient’s actual condition?

So with this many herbs thrown together, the only impression it gave Du Heng was that he just wanted to make money.

Reliable colleague?

What a load of shit colleague.

Cursing silently in his Heart, Du Heng looked up and asked the Patient, ”Who wrote this prescription? Do you still remember?”

The Patient gave Du Heng a slightly puzzled look, then softly said a name.

And the moment Du Heng heard that name, he suddenly felt everything fall into place.

The name was very familiar, a Professor from a certain medical Institute in the south, and quite a well-known Professor.

His fame mainly has two parts.

One part is his big influence in Society. He did the same thing as Du Heng—becoming an Internet Celebrity Doctor. Although he doesn’t have as many online followers as Du Heng, within traditional Chinese medicine popular science, he still counts as a fairly well-known Doctor.

Plus he’s an old man, with the title of Professor and the backing of a certain famous Hospital, so his conversion rate for consultations is much higher than Du Heng’s.

The other part is that his reputation among peers and people in the profession is rotten—rotten to the core.
