This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng carefully completed the check-up, then finished the pulse diagnosis, and tremblingly reached out to touch his daughter’s face.

It’s very hot!

Then Du Heng closed his eyes and began to ponder, while the people around him stayed silent, all quietly watching Du Heng.

They hoped Du Heng could create a miracle.

But they also understood in their hearts that when symptoms like blood poisoning, sustained high fever around 40 degrees, convulsions, respiratory and circulatory failure all appeared simultaneously in a two-month-old baby, the possibility of a miracle was almost nonexistent.

Moreover, this conclusion wasn’t reached by any one individual among them but was the shared result of all of them.

If there truly were a miracle, they, as a group, would have already accomplished it.

Yet Du Heng had given them many surprises, and since Du Heng was also the child’s father, they all remained silent, quietly waiting for what Du Heng would say next.

After quietly waiting for two minutes, Du Heng suddenly asked, ”After the child arrived at the hospital, did they show any signs of urination or defecation?”

Director Liu proactively responded, ”No.”

”What about when the child was sent here?”

”We don’t know.” Director Liu continued, ”It was too hectic at the time; we didn’t manage to ask, and the person transporting the child didn’t say anything either.”

Du Heng strived to keep his mind clear and his heart calm.

Upon receiving Director Liu’s answer, Du Heng took out his mobile phone and called Gong Daoyang.

He thought it was already late, so he might need to call twice or contact Wang Zhenzhen instead.

But unexpectedly, the phone was answered immediately after dialing, ”Xiao Heng, is the child feeling better?”

”Thank you, Gong.” Du Heng cut to the chase, asking, ”Gong, when you found the child today, did you notice any signs of urination or defecation?

Moreover, did the child show any signs of urination or defecation on the way over?”

Without hesitation, Gong Daoyang said, ”The child didn’t urinate or defecate on the way here. But before finding the child, I wasn’t entirely sure; you should call Liu Gong as he’s the one who went inside to carry the child out, he should know.”

”Thanks, Gong.”

Du Heng hung up Gong Daoyang’s phone call and promptly called Liu Gong.

This time, however, it wasn’t answered immediately; Liu Gong answered just as the ringtone was about to end.

When Du Heng posed the question, Liu Gong began to recall, and after a while, he said, ”We arrived at the location at noon, and until we acted in the afternoon, the child wasn’t taken outside for convenience.

When I rushed into the room to find the child, in my memory, though there was a lot of dust in the classroom, there were still no signs of urination or defecation.”

”Thanks.”

No urination or defecation at all!

After hanging up the phone, Du Heng fell silent again.

This time, however, after just a few minutes passed, Li Jianwei gently asked, ”Xiao Heng, what’s the situation...”

Du Heng took a long breath, turned slowly to look at Li Jianwei, and said, ”Teacher, I want to try my method.”

Li Jianwei looked at Du Heng, a bit distressed, and said softly, ”Do you have confidence?”

Du Heng didn’t speak; he was still thinking.

Turning to glance at his daughter’s chapped lips, he softly asked for a cup of warm water, picked up a cotton swab, and began to moisten his daughter’s lips.

But as the cotton swab touched his daughter’s lips for the third time, the little girl actually tentatively tried to suck.

And it was this subtle motion that invigorated Du Heng’s spirit.

He quickly tried again and immediately saw the movement made by his daughter’s small mouth.

Du Heng became excited, quickly asking the nurse to fetch a dropper and then dropped two drops of water into his daughter’s mouth.

And the daughter didn’t disappoint, her lips moved slightly, and she swallowed the water in her mouth.

Then the Pediatrics Department Director softly said, ”Director Du, the sucking reflex is an innate reaction of infants, you...”

Du Heng suddenly raised his hand to interrupt what the Pediatrics Department Director was about to say next, ”I know this.”

”Then why are you...”

Du Heng didn’t answer again but instead began to ponder once more.

And this time, the more he thought, the more light appeared in his eyes.

Li Jianwei witnessed all of this, seeing Du Heng becoming increasingly excited, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Xiao Heng, do you have an idea?”

Du Heng nodded heavily, ”The child’s issue isn’t eczema, but heat rash.

However, the heat rash didn’t break out but rather suppressed the skin rash toxin back, turning into internal heat poison.

Once the toxin turns inward, it scorches the viscera, not only suffusing the lungs with heat but also internalizing into the heart and liver, provoking liver wind and obstructing clarity.”

Previously, the diagnoses from Pediatrics and Hematology Department Directors, Li Jianwei couldn’t quite keep up.

But with Du Heng’s explanation, he understood.

Moreover, Du Heng’s diagnosis elucidated the child’s current coma, high fever, convulsions, and other issues all at once.

Since it could be explained, then the treatment...

Li Jianwei’s eyes also lit up with radiance, immediately looking at the child excitedly, then turned back to Du Heng, ”Then how do you plan to treat it?”

Du Heng took a deep breath and said slowly but firmly, ”Vent the internal organs and drain the heat, urgently supplement the Yin, and open the closed lungs.”

”Do you have confidence?”

It would have been better not to ask, as Du Heng seemed resolute.

But with Li Jianwei’s questioning, Du Heng immediately became somewhat hesitant.
