With A Yuan’s persistence, the already reluctant Espurr ultimately chose to stay.

However—

Because of what had happened, Espurr deliberately kept its distance after getting out of bed, clearly afraid that its psychic powers might go out of control again and hurt A Yuan.

A Yuan didn’t mind.

For him, having Espurr stay by his side was already the best outcome.

”Based on what you described, Espurr is likely entering a phase of rapid growth. The psychic energy in its body, which used to be stable, is now becoming harder to control.”

Chen Mo spoke calmly.

”For Espurr, before evolving into Meowstic, this kind of situation will happen many times. The key to solving it is helping it adapt to its growing psychic power.”

”So suppressing it blindly will only backfire.”

A Yuan nodded repeatedly.

”Then… Teacher Mo, what should I do specifically?”

”That depends on you.”

Chen Mo smiled slightly.

”Training Pokémon isn’t as complicated or exhausting as you think. Every Pokémon needs a method that suits it.”

”For Psychic-types like Espurr, let it use its psychic power in daily activities. For example, you can spend 30 minutes to an hour each day playing ball with it—have it use only its psychic power.”

”Over time, it will naturally learn to control its energy.”

”And since you live in Anping City, I recommend bringing Espurr here for a checkup every week. With professional analysis, you’ll better understand its condition.”

It was clear that A Yuan didn’t care about becoming stronger—he just wanted a peaceful life with Espurr.

So Chen Mo’s advice was simple and safe.

It might be slower—

But it was steady and reliable.

”Teacher Mo, Director Zheng, and everyone… thank you so much.”

Before leaving, A Yuan thanked them one by one.

Then he wheeled himself out, with Espurr following a few meters behind.

”That works too.”

Chen Mo gently patted Pikachu.

”Pika~”

—

”Xiao Mo, sorry to keep you waiting.”

Zheng approached with a smile.

”Not at all.”

Chen Mo turned toward him.

Honestly—

A Yuan and Espurr’s case had been perfect timing.

Seeing a successful treatment firsthand was far more impactful than any explanation.

”We’re ready now. Bring the egg over.”

”Alright!”

At the mention of the egg, Chen Mo perked up.

Finally—

The moment had come.

He carefully took out the incubator.

”Geng!”

gengar floated over, reaching curiously—

But before Chen Mo could react—

Pikachu leapt forward, blocking it with its tail.

”Pika! Pika pika!”

gengar froze.

After evolving, its body naturally lowered the surrounding temperature—

Great for summer…

Terrible for an egg.

Chen Mo had strictly forbidden it from touching the egg.

”Geng…”

Dejected, gengar sank back into Chen Mo’s shadow.

Chen Mo sighed helplessly.

”Right—almost forgot.”

He released Absol.

The moment it appeared—

It looked straight at the egg.

”Absol…”

Its gaze was gentle.

”Let’s go.”

—

Soon—

They arrived at the examination room.

”Please.”

Chen Mo handed over the egg.

Then he sat outside, hands clenched.

Even if his attachment wasn’t as deep as Absol’s—

He still cared.

He hoped the life inside could be born safely.

—

Time passed.

Too slowly.

Chen Mo grew restless.

Absol paced anxiously.

The chat began speculating:

[This is taking too long…]

[Probably a dead egg…]

[It never moved before, right?]

[Teacher Mo just wants closure…]

Then—

The door opened.

Zheng stepped out, looking serious.

Chen Mo’s heart sank.

He took a breath.

”…Just tell me.”

Zheng nodded.

”I’ll start with the conclusion.”

”The egg is completely healthy.”

”…Wait—what?”

Chen Mo froze.

Zheng frowned.

”It’s strange. Based on your earlier description, we expected problems.”

”But every test shows it’s perfectly fine—and fully ready to hatch.”

They had even double-checked.

Same result.

No abnormalities.

—

Chen Mo frowned deeply.

Absol looked confused and anxious.

After a moment—

”Can I see it?”

”Of course.”

—

Inside the lab—

Machines filled the room.

None of it mattered to Chen Mo.

He stared only at the egg.

Zheng’s words triggered a memory.

In the anime—

Ash once had a perfectly healthy egg that wouldn’t hatch…

Until—

It reacted to his Aura.

And inside—

Was Riolu.

”…Could it be…”

Chen Mo’s heart raced.

He placed his hand on the egg.

”Aura… guide me…”

His Aura spread—

Wrapping the egg.

If it was Riolu—

It should respond.

He pushed harder.

But—

Nothing.

Sweat formed on his forehead.

”…Is my Aura too weak? Or… am I wrong?”

He hesitated.

Around him—

Everyone thought he was grieving.

”Absol…”

Absol grew visibly distressed.

Just as Chen Mo was about to explain—

The egg suddenly trembled.

”It moved!”

”…What?”

Zheng was stunned.

Chen Mo’s face lit up.

”I felt it—it definitely moved!”

”Really?!”

Zheng was confused.

Months of stillness—

And now this?

But Chen Mo—

Was certain.

Riolu.

It had to be.
