Pokémon Invasion: Explaining Pokémon to Save the World

As Pokémon born from garbage, the Trubbish line has a deep connection with humans. In a sense, humans are the ”gods” who brought them into existence.

Because of this, Trubbish have always held a high level of goodwill toward humans.

However—

While Trubbish like humans, humans tend to avoid them. Dirty, smelly, and constantly emitting foul odors, they’re far from appealing. On top of that, they occasionally release toxic gases harmful to the human body, which makes even fewer trainers willing to raise them.

Of course—

There are always exceptions.

Even if 90% of people dislike Trubbish, there will always be 10% willing to get close to them.

And not long ago—

The Trubbish found such a person.

This man carried a scent similar to their own. It wasn’t strong, but enough that the Trubbish believed he might accept them.

So they lingered around the places he frequented, never daring to approach too closely.

The reason was simple—

They were afraid of rejection.

But something unexpected happened.

The human who shared their scent… came to their home.

Simple-minded as they were, the Trubbish assumed he had come to accept them. Overjoyed, they rushed toward him.

What they received—

Was an attack.

Deeply disappointed, anger surged within them.

They couldn’t understand.

They existed because of humans—so why did these ”gods” hate them? Why attack them?

Amid confusion and pain—

The Trubbish evolved.

Driven by anger, the newly evolved Garbodor gained immense power—and its first instinct was to vent and retaliate.

”Da-si!”

Garbodor roared at Pikachu.

The less it understood, the angrier it became—especially seeing a Pokémon like Pikachu, accepted and loved by a human trainer.

Seeing Garbodor raise its arm, Chen Mo shouted:

”Watch out for its sludge!”

”Pika!”

In this battle, Garbodor had two major threats:

First, its toxic gas.

Second, the deadly sludge within its body.

Thanks to Pidgeotto controlling the air, the gas had little effect on Pikachu. And with Chen Mo’s warnings, Pikachu easily avoided the sludge with its agility.

A flash of golden electricity—

After being struck by Thunderbolt, Garbodor’s momentum weakened significantly.

”Now—Deerling, use Aromatherapy again!”

Hearing the command, Deerling—protected by gengar—activated its move once more.

A mist-like green powder enveloped the paralyzed Garbodor, and a sweet fragrance filled the air.

For some reason—

A thought surfaced in Garbodor’s mind.

If I could smell like this… would humans like me?

”Looks like it’s working…”

Chen Mo felt a bit relieved seeing the change in its expression.

Meanwhile, the livestream chat erupted:

[So shameless! Ganging up on a freshly evolved wild Garbodor? Totally unfair!]

[Garbodor: Fight me one-on-one if you’ve got guts!]

[Teacher Mo’s used to fighting stronger opponents—now even Garbodor gets the group treatment 😂]

[Come on…]

[How is it unfair? Garbodor has backup too, and Pidgeotto isn’t even attacking—just clearing poison gas.]

[Jokes aside, Pikachu’s gotten really strong. That Thunderbolt nearly finished it…]

Chen Mo glanced at the chat, a bit helpless.

This was already a ”fair” fight.

If he wanted to be truly unfair, he could’ve sent in gengar—

A Ghost/Poison-type completely resistant to Garbodor’s toolkit.

Shaking his head, Chen Mo looked at Garbodor.

”We don’t want to hurt you. Please calm down and stop damaging the surroundings.”

”… ”

Garbodor slowly came back to its senses, glancing at the human surrounded by Pikachu, Pidgeotto, and gengar.

After a long pause—

It let out a low growl.

Then it stood up, said something to the surrounding Trubbish, and began to lead them away—as if leaving this place of heartbreak.

Just then—

”Wait. I’m not trying to drive you away.”

”Da-si?”

Garbodor froze.

The livestream exploded with confusion:

[What does Teacher Mo mean? Letting them leave sounds like the best solution.]

[Is he trying to capture Garbodor?]

[No way… even if he loves Pokémon, he has standards. Let’s be honest—Trubbish probably don’t meet them.]

[So much for acceptance—just another looks-first hypocrite.]

[That’s nonsense. He treats Pokémon equally—he’s still allowed personal preferences.]

[You expect him to catch every Pokémon he sees? That’s ridiculous.]

[Still… Trubbish do seem kind of pitiful…]

Ignoring the chat for now, Chen Mo quickly removed his protective gear and walked straight up to Garbodor.

”I mean it—Anping City welcomes any Pokémon that bear no hostility toward humans. If possible, I hope you can stay.”

”Da-si…?”

Garbodor was stunned.

Never before had it heard a human say, ”I want you to stay.”

And—

Just moments ago, this human hid behind Pokémon.

Now, he approached without protection.

Wasn’t he afraid of being attacked?

At this distance, even Pikachu might not protect him in time.

Garbodor couldn’t understand.

Chen Mo simply smiled.

He removed his gear to show sincerity.

Because—

He already had an idea.

As Pokémon that consume garbage, Trubbish could be incredibly beneficial to humans.

If cooperation could be established, it would greatly improve urban sanitation.

After conveying his thoughts through Pikachu, Chen Mo waited quietly.

At that moment, he finally noticed the chaotic chat.

Without hesitation, he addressed it directly:

”I appreciate those who understand. I’ve never claimed to be perfect. I like Pokémon—but there are many kinds, each with unique traits. Naturally, I have my own preferences.”

”As for how to handle the Trubbish line, here’s my view.”

”Letting them stay in Anping City benefits both them and us.”

”They struggle to survive in the wild due to their specific needs. Meanwhile, cities produce massive amounts of waste daily. Letting them help is a win-win.”

”And more importantly—don’t discriminate against them.”

”I’ve said before: Trubbish exist because of us. In a way, they represent a part of humanity. If you look down on them, maybe reflect on the waste we generate every day.”

”You don’t have to love them—but don’t hurt them with your words.”

The chat gradually quieted.

After a while, one highlighted message appeared:

[Teacher Mo, I was wrong to judge by appearance. But didn’t you say Trubbish release toxic gas after eating? Wouldn’t that be dangerous in a city?]

”Good question.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”But don’t worry—the amount of gas they release is limited. With proper management, it won’t affect residents.”

He had two ideas:

First—use modern technology to neutralize the gas.

If that didn’t work, his system certainly could.

Second—work with the Koffing line.

Koffing feed on Trubbish’s toxic gas. After processing it, they can even produce high-grade perfume.

Together, they could form a perfect ecological cycle.

Of course—

Chen Mo didn’t mention this part on stream.

Even unattractive Pokémon become targets if profit is involved.

That would be disastrous for them.

As for Chen Mo—

With Poké Balls and healing items, his wealth was already steadily growing.

He had no interest in exploiting such systems for money.

”If only we could find Galarian Weezing…”

That Pokémon could not only consume toxic gas but purify it into clean air.

The ultimate solution.

Trubbish process human waste—

Galarian Weezing purifies the byproducts.

A perfect ecological loop.
