No time to waste.

After learning the location of the garbage processing plant, Chen Mo didn’t delay and immediately set off with Brother Yi.

Brother Yi drove, while Chen Mo used the time to explain the Trubbish line to the livestream audience.

”I wonder if everyone still remembers the Banette I talked about back in Lavender Town.”

The moment he said that, the chat exploded:

[You mean Xiao You’s Banette? Of course we remember! That’s what changed my view on Pokémon after watching the official documentary.]

[Speaking of Xiao You, I think I saw a kid in Anping City who looked just like him…]

[Dude, you’re late to the news—Beard Boss already moved his family to Anping City after Teacher Mo’s suggestion.]

[These days, people in Anping are used to seeing citizens walking their Pokémon.]

[Man, that’s the dream. Every time I take my Furret out, people crowd around. Furret’s super alert, so it gets stressed—I don’t even dare take it outside anymore.]

[Subtle flex, huh?]

[Class rep here: Banette is a Ghost-type Pokémon. It can evolve from Shuppet or be born from abandoned dolls. It’s a very special kind of Pokémon.]

Seeing the response he wanted, Chen Mo nodded.

”Similar to Banette’s origin, Trubbish is a special Pokémon formed when garbage bags undergo chemical reactions with industrial waste.”

”Because of this, Trubbish love unclean places—garbage dumps, for example, are their preferred habitats.”

”They also have a unique habit: to get more trash, they’ll secretly follow people who litter. Sometimes, they even move into messy homes.”

That bit of explanation immediately sparked ideas among viewers:

[Didn’t someone say they wanted any Pokémon? Here’s your chance—no need to go outside. Just turn your house into a dump and wait for Trubbish to show up.]

[Thanks bro, lesson learned.]

[Starting tomorrow, I become a messy person. Smoking, drinking, trash everywhere. I have a broken house facing a muddy ditch, filled with stench.]

[…Are you guys serious?]

Meanwhile—

At a temporary station near the garbage plant, the trio who had narrowly escaped Garbodor watched the stream with dawning realization.

Facing Mo Ji and Donggua’s stares, Anzi—who hadn’t expected his poor hygiene to be the cause—blushed deeply.

”I… I’ll clean up when I get back. I swear!”

Soon—

Chen Mo and Brother Yi arrived at the garbage plant.

The area had been completely sealed off. Beyond the caution tape, armed police patrolled to prevent civilians from wandering in and being attacked by Trubbish.

Chen Mo didn’t enter immediately. Instead, he first went to meet the three witnesses.

”Teacher Mo, this is Mo Ji.”

Led by an officer, Chen Mo met Rattata’s trainer.

”Teacher Mo!”

Mo Ji looked excited.

Most Pokémon trainers held Chen Mo in high regard—some even saw him as their idol.

Mo Ji was no exception.

After a brief greeting, Chen Mo glanced at the energetic, unharmed Rattata on his shoulder and asked:

”What kind of Pokémon saved you?”

Although Garbodor wasn’t particularly powerful, it would still be difficult for a Rattata to escort three humans out of its territory without injury.

According to Professor Zhou, they had been rescued by a group of wild Pokémon—but in the chaos, no images were captured.

Later drone surveillance only found Trubbish and the rampaging Garbodor.

So Chen Mo was curious.

Mo Ji described what he saw:

”They floated like balloons… irregular purple spheres with bumps… and those bumps would release gas…”

Chen Mo already had an idea.

At first, something floating like a balloon suggested Drifloon.

But with the added details, he ruled that out.

Drifloon didn’t emit gas or have such a lumpy structure.

Combined with the garbage plant setting, only one answer fit.

”If I’m not mistaken, the Pokémon that saved you were Koffing.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”And they probably weren’t trying to save you specifically. They were likely attracted to the toxic gas produced by Trubbish—that’s basically food to them.”

In canon, Galarian Weezing are known to feed on the gases produced by Trubbish.

Regular Koffing share similar dietary habits.

So it made sense they would target Trubbish.

Then Chen Mo’s expression turned serious.

”Whether it’s Trubbish or Koffing, the gases they emit can be extremely harmful to humans.”

Understanding immediately, Mo Ji nodded.

”I’ll have Xiao Dong take Anzi to the hospital right away.”

”You should go too.”

Chen Mo patted his shoulder.

”Leave things here to me.”

Mo Ji glanced at Pikachu and gengar, then turned and left without argument.

At that moment, a voice called out:

”Teacher Mo, everything you requested has arrived.”

”Got it, I’m coming.”

For Chen Mo, handling a newly evolved Garbodor wasn’t particularly difficult.

But caution came first.

As he had explained earlier—

The toxic gas might not affect Pokémon much, but for humans, it could be deadly.

He wasn’t about to lose his life over carelessness.

So proper protective gear was essential.

While Chen Mo was gearing up, viewers noticed a familiar green deer.

[That’s a Deerling!]

[Cute, but why is it here? Is it supposed to fight Garbodor? That seems unnecessary…]

[Relax, Teacher Mo has a plan.]

Fully suited up, Chen Mo stepped in front of the camera.

”The Garbodor here just evolved, so it’s emotionally unstable. Our first goal is to calm it down. Deerling can help with that. If everything goes well, we might avoid a fight entirely.”

In the anime, a rampaging Garbodor had once been calmed by Aromatherapy from a Deerling.

Even if the mechanics were unclear—

A peaceful resolution was always preferable.

”Deerling, I’m counting on you.”

”Deer~”

The Deerling, once rescued by Chen Mo’s group, showed no hesitation.

Helping humans was only natural to it.

”Alright—ready. Let’s go!”

The garbage plant was massive, but the chaos made Garbodor easy to locate.

”Hey! Garbodor—can you calm down and listen?”

Standing over ten meters away, Chen Mo shouted.

Garbodor paused, then slowly turned—

And roared angrily upon seeing him.

Clearly, it hadn’t calmed down.

”Deerling, use Aromatherapy!”

”Deer!”

A radiant glow bloomed from the flower on Deerling’s head.

A soothing fragrance spread, enveloping Garbodor.

”Da-si?”

Garbodor looked confused.

The chat lit up:

[It’s working!]

But—

Before they could celebrate, Chen Mo noticed something wrong.

”gengar!”

In an instant, gengar appeared in front of Deerling.

At the same time—

Garbodor opened its mouth and fired a mass of foul sludge.

gengar blocked it with ease.

Then immediately grabbed Deerling and retreated.

”Da-si!”

Thick toxic gas flooded the area as Trubbish joined in, turning the battlefield into a poisonous zone.

”So it failed…”

Chen Mo remained calm.

He pulled out a Poké Ball.

”Pidgeotto, I’m counting on you!”

With a flash of light, Pidgeotto appeared, wings spread wide.

Without needing instructions, it beat its wings—

A powerful gust swept away the toxic gas.

Then—

”Pikachu, get ready for battle!”

At the command, a small yellow figure leapt forward, landing gracefully at the center of the field.

”Pika…”

Electric sparks crackled across Pikachu’s cheeks.

Facing a towering Garbodor like a mountain—

There was no fear in its eyes.

Only burning fighting spirit.
