Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Where’s the equipment?”

”Below!” Almighty Demon Vine pointed to the ground. ”It’s the former supply storage warehouse on the second floor, specifically for storing weapons and armor. Think of it as a small secret room. You wait here, I’ll go check it out.”

With that said, the Almighty Demon Vine immediately tried to burrow downwards but was pulled back by Wen Yu.

”Let’s go together.”

”Even now, you still don’t trust me?”

”That’s right, I don’t trust you. So, we go together!” Wen Yu stated his position very firmly.

Now that a soul that had lived for countless years had awakened within the Almighty Demon Vine, Wen Yu couldn’t possibly trust it 100 percent, even with their contractual relationship. Under these circumstances, Wen Yu would absolutely not let the Almighty Demon Vine out of his sight.

Perhaps the Almighty Demon Vine truly had no ulterior motives. Seeing Wen Yu’s resolute stance, it decisively yielded.

”Fine. But once we’re down there, you have to follow my commands.”

”Okay.”

The Almighty Demon Vine spun around twice in place, then lightly touched the ground.

”It’s right here.”

In the next second, the tip of the Almighty Demon Vine began to flicker with specks of purple light, much like when it had breached the entrance to Ye Nan’s extra-dimensional asylum in the outside world. Wreathed in this strange purple light, the Almighty Demon Vine traced several bizarrely shaped runes on the ground.

As the purple runes flashed twice, Wen Yu felt a sudden tremor from the ground beneath his feet, lasting only about three seconds.

Then, the once-solid ground slowly caved in as if it were sand, gradually revealing a pit roughly large enough for one person.

Witnessing this, Wen Yu glanced at the Almighty Demon Vine, now lying limply nearby, and a general understanding of its abilities formed in his mind.

The runes drawn by the Almighty Demon Vine seem to possess an ability akin to ”Breaking the ban”...

The term ”Breaking the ban” was something Wen Yu had seen in Cultivation novels. He really had no idea how it operated or how such a skill was used. He also predicted that these Cultivation-like methods would be too complex for him to learn.

The Almighty Demon Vine, however, offered no comment on this, merely pointing downwards.

”Let’s go. I predict there should be some good stuff inside.”

”You lead the way!”

”Tsk, tsk. No wonder you have no friends...”

”Shut up and hurry. Besides, with my strength, I don’t need any friends, okay?”

Seeing the Almighty Demon Vine dive into the pit first, Wen Yu pondered for a moment before decisively releasing Cyclops and Star.

”Cyclops, you take Star and guard the entrance. Star, listen to Cyclops’s commands.”

In terms of overall capability, Cyclops’s ability to operate independently was indeed somewhat superior to Star’s. Coupled with the fact that Victor’s Netherworld was critically important to Wen Yu, his current arrangement for his soul pets was quite sound and conventional.

Having secured his retreat, Wen Yu glanced at the Almighty Demon Vine, which had already extended its tendrils underground, and decisively leaped into the pit.

「The pit was dim, without a trace of light.」

In the absence of any light source, even with Wen Yu’s excellent eyesight, it was impossible to see anything.

He immediately took out a flashlight and swept it around. Unlike ordinary, roughly hewn underground tunnels, the surrounding walls were clean and smooth. Aside from the trail left by the Almighty Demon Vine’s passage, the ground was covered only by a thick layer of dust.

It seemed like he got here first...

At this thought, Wen Yu immediately looked up and spotted the Almighty Demon Vine not far away.

In the dim environment, the once emerald-green Almighty Demon Vine had lost its vibrant, glossy sheen. All that remained was a dull body that appeared blackish-purple.

Currently, the Almighty Demon Vine was writhing, crawling all over a massive stone door.

It seemed like the Almighty Demon Vine was about to use its bizarre ”Breaking the ban” method again...

However, events unfolded contrary to Wen Yu’s expectations.

The Almighty Demon Vine crawled on the stone door for a long time before slowly making its way back to Wen Yu’s side. A somewhat dejected Spiritual Fluctuation transmitted into Wen Yu’s mind.

”Too much time has passed. The original restriction on the secret room has completely failed. Without the restriction that opens the door, I have no way to get in either.”

”What should we do then?”

”Let’s force it. The restriction’s failure means the defensive measures here have been greatly reduced. With your current strength, dealing with these broken stones should be easy.”

”Wait a moment, let me try.”

Wen Yu said, quickly entering a combat stance and decisively activating the Netherworld’s augmentation.

The power of the Netherworld quickly spread throughout the entire underground passage. Then, Wen Yu directly altered the laws within the Netherworld.

”It’s useless. A secret room is a secret room; how could it be breached by abilities like Instantaneous Movement? The stone material here isn’t ordinary.”

The Almighty Demon Vine hadn’t lied. After a simple test, Wen Yu found that the tightly sealed stone door indeed blocked the Netherworld’s power of Instantaneous Movement.

When the simple probing proved fruitless, Wen Yu decisively drew back his fist. A black Energy Wave blasted from his knuckles, striking the stone door before him.

BOOM!

A sound like an underground explosion reverberated. The intense oscillation originated from the secret passage’s location, spreading upwards and rapidly encompassing the entire Heavenly Palace Forge.

This seemingly violent oscillation didn’t faze Wen Yu in the slightest—he was certainly clear about his own power.

However, the stone door’s toughness did make Wen Yu frown inwardly.

A punch backed by his 13,598 physique points, plus the 2,000 physique points from the baby Soul Beast—a total of 15,598 physique points—had only managed to create a tiny crack in the stone door.

”Continue!”

The Almighty Demon Vine, like a flagpole swaying in the wind, continuously cheered Wen Yu on from his side.

BOOM!

Another punch.

The violent noise echoed throughout the entire Heavenly Palace Forge. Wen Yu had anticipated this. With Cyclops and Star guarding the entrance, he wasn’t worried about the situation outside.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

A continuous series of explosions resounded throughout the entire Heavenly Palace Forge.

All the professionists who detected the tremendous noise reacted in starkly different ways.

Some weaker professionists reacted as if a major alarm had sounded, fleeing into the distance. To them, the loud booms seemed to herald some ominous disaster.

For these weaker professionists, the choice between saving their lives and watching the spectacle was an easy one.

Meanwhile, certain professionists who considered themselves quite capable decisively headed towards Wen Yu’s location.

Amidst this chaotic scene, Tang Haofei, leading the military’s powerful experts, also teleported to the Second Layer of Heavenly Palace.
