Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Faced with the Vine Core’s naive questioning, Wen Yu was at a loss for words.

He couldn’t very well tell it outright that he would never allow an unfamiliar Soul to occupy his Limit Breakthrough item, could he?

Therefore, Wen Yu, feeling quite embarrassed, launched another Soul Strike!

...

The sudden Soul Strike made the Vine Core fully understand its current situation.

From beginning to end, Wen Yu never had any intention of sparing it!

In fact, for Wen Yu, he knew the Almighty Demon Vine lacked intelligence, and this would greatly affect future tactical arrangements for it. Even so, Wen Yu would never allow a Soul with definite ill will towards him to occupy the Almighty Demon Vine.

The Almighty Demon Vine was too important to Wen Yu!

The energy contained in the Vine Core would undoubtedly be of great benefit to the Almighty Demon Vine. Allowing the Vine Spirit’s Soul Body to enter the Almighty Demon Vine was just a simple experiment by Wen Yu. He wanted to see if the Almighty Demon Vine would show a hint of soul characteristics after this ”possession.” Wen Yu believed that it was more appropriate to cultivate such a Soul himself from the beginning.

If it succeeded, everyone would be happy.

If it failed, then he could only humanely destroy the Vine Core.

Just now, seeing the Vine Spirit’s Soul Body easily destroy the Almighty Demon Vine’s combat instincts, Wen Yu had to admit that this small experiment had failed.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu launched another Soul Strike!

...

Three consecutive Soul Strikes drove the Vine Spirit to complete despair.

The simple Soul Body, with no way to retaliate against the Soul Strike, coupled with Wen Yu’s own terrifying strength, meant the Vine Spirit was already showing signs of collapse!

In Wen Yu’s perception, the Vine Spirit, which resembled a ball of light, had shrunk significantly after three consecutive Soul Strikes. Tiny white spots of light scattered and floated in the core of the Almighty Demon Vine, rendering it like a starry sky.

Sensing its Soul Body dissipating, the Vine Core transmitted a desperate Spiritual Fluctuation.

The Weakening of its Soul Body left the Vine Spirit unable to transmit even a complete Spiritual Fluctuation. All Wen Yu could perceive was despair, anger, and sadness.

However, despair, anger, and sadness could not make Wen Yu abandon his decision, could not make him stop crushing the Vine Spirit!

The next second, an even stronger Soul Strike hit the Vine Spirit right on target.

...

The white ball of light burst instantly, blooming like a firework before dissipating into nothingness.

Watching the white spots of light scattered around the core of the Almighty Demon Vine, Wen Yu remained expressionless.

After a while, Wen Yu sighed softly.

”It seems like a failure.”

Failure was normal. This little experiment was just a whim on Wen Yu’s part. He himself was completely clueless about things like the Soul. In fact, there might not be any creature that has done much research on Souls.

The idea of making the Almighty Demon Vine develop a Soul was undoubtedly challenging for Wen Yu!

The failure of the small experiment did not disturb Wen Yu’s mood.

He withdrew his perception from the Almighty Demon Vine, raised his head, and glanced at the watch on his wrist.

Five minutes had passed.

”Let’s go, to CH Town.”

He addressed the three Soul Pets standing before him and, with a thought, intended to retract the Almighty Demon Vine into his arm.

However, in the next second, Wen Yu froze!

...

The Almighty Demon Vine didn’t respond to Wen Yu’s command. Instead, a vague emotion emanated from it:

”HUNGRY!!!”

This emotion was extremely weak and vague. If Wen Yu’s Soul hadn’t been so strong, he wouldn’t have been able to sense this minuscule fluctuation.

Perceiving the Almighty Demon Vine’s state, Wen Yu steadied himself. His perception once again permeated its core through their contract.

In a very short time, possibly only ten seconds, a subtle change had already occurred in the core of the Almighty Demon Vine!

...

Like a dazzling starry sky, white spots of light floated and danced. At first glance, it looked no different than before.

However, as Wen Yu looked closer, he discovered that in the core of the Almighty Demon Vine, five tiny spots of light had collided and adhered tightly together, forming a larger spot of light.

Before Wen Yu could examine this ”large spot of light” more closely, an even weaker emotional fluctuation than before emanated from it.

”HUNGRY!”

That weak emotion was indeed emanating from the large spot of light!

Wen Yu examined the large spot of light carefully. It was pure, flawless, and crystal clear, yet it indeed contained a faint Soul Fluctuation within.

Wen Yu didn’t know if it was because the Almighty Demon Vine and the previous vine shared similar attributes, or if he was just incredibly lucky. But unknowingly, he had actually created a new Soul Body for the Almighty Demon Vine!

Before Wen Yu could express any sort of elation, an even weaker emotion transmitted from the large spot of light.

”Hungry...”

It was like the call of a dying person. Wen Yu instantly understood: the newborn Soul Body was too weak. If he ignored it, it might disintegrate and collapse within minutes.

But... what does it want to eat?

...

Demon’s Flesh and Blood... That was the first thing that came to Wen Yu’s mind.

The Almighty Demon Vine feeds on Demon’s Flesh and Blood. Perhaps that would work on this newborn Soul Body.

Wen Yu wasn’t sure if his judgment was correct, but he definitely couldn’t abandon this newborn Soul Body!

Treating a dead horse as if it were a live one—that was the only thing Wen Yu could do for now.

With this in mind, Wen Yu didn’t delay. He immediately retrieved his three Soul Pets back into the Soul Realm space!

2nd Soul Realm—augmented with Cyclops—Ultra Mortal Combat (SSS-Class, Passive Skill).

3rd Soul Realm—augmented with Star—Dragon Blood Amplification (SSS-Class, Active Ability).

4th Soul Realm—augmented with Faceless—Amplification (B-Class, Passive ability).

5th Soul Realm—augmented with Victor—Netherworld (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive Skill).

In an instant, Wen Yu felt his blood begin to burn. Tremendous power surged from within him. Under the effects of Netherworld, Wen Yu abruptly became the ”god” of this domain.

This was Wen Yu at his strongest!

In the very next second, Wen Yu, having activated his most potent state, randomly chose a direction and rushed off!

All Demon Fiends, even all life forms, surrounding HL Town had been consumed by the previous vine. To find food for the Almighty Demon Vine’s newborn Soul Body, Wen Yu had to seek out a ”hunting ground.”

Moreover, time was of the essence; the newly formed Soul Body might not last much longer!
