Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Clutching the soft main body of the vine, Wen Yu said with a smile, ”This is treasure!”

Then, Wen Yu noticed the eager eyes of the three soul pets and gave a gentle laugh.

”But, it’s not for you guys!”

”TSK...”

With an aloof snort, Victor slowly shrank back to his miniature form and, with a nimble leap, landed on top of Star’s head.

Cyclops and Star were also visibly disappointed.

”Alright, alright, there will be more in the future.”

Wen Yu reassured his soul pets while tossing the vine’s main body in his hands. He then reached out his right hand and lightly tapped it twice.

”Stop pretending to be dead. Say something.”

”You promised not to kill me...”

”I never said I would kill you!”

Wen Yu very directly expressed his thoughts. In fact, Wen Yu had absolutely no intention of killing the vine—a Level 5 creature. Killing it would only produce a magic crystal and this ”fruit” in his hand, the use of which was still unknown.

”But, you...”

The vine stuttered weakly.

The survival state of this vine was very interesting. The main body was just an emerald green sphere about 20 centimeters in diameter, and its extended vine tendrils were merely like ’clothing.’ After Wen Yu severed the connection between the main body and these tendrils, the vine became a ’spoil of war.’ It possessed the strength of a Level 5 creature but had no practical power, as helpless as someone who couldn’t even truss a chicken.

And for this spoil, Wen Yu had a grand plan!

With this thought, Wen Yu focused his mind, and the Almighty Demon Vine hidden within his body slowly materialized at his side.

Since acquiring the Almighty Demon Vine, Wen Yu had already conducted detailed studies.

The Almighty Demon Vine, a special life form cultivated by the Immortal Martial civilization, was not much different from Faceless—its main body had no intelligence, no Soul, and only some insignificant instincts.

This made special life forms like Faceless and the Almighty Demon Vine fundamentally different from ordinary life forms: they could understand orders and possessed combat instincts, but they lacked the ability to act independently.

This is increasingly falling short of meeting my combat needs! Wen Yu thought.

And when Wen Yu saw the ruins of Town hl, recalling everything that had happened there, a thought abruptly emerged in his mind.

If the Almighty Demon Vine made contact with the vine below, would some interesting change occur? This was just a conjecture, and there was no guarantee of success, nor any certainty that other situations wouldn’t arise. But there was no harm in trying!

Think and act! Under Wen Yu’s power, this conjecture could easily be turned into reality!

As the Almighty Demon Vine appeared, an indescribable emotion surged from within it and transmitted into Wen Yu’s mind.

Desire? Anxiety? Even a bit of fear.

And the vine core in Wen Yu’s hand also displayed the same emotions.

Wen Yu, sensing these two sets of emotions, immediately laughed.

My guess was correct!

Then, Wen Yu gently squeezed the vine’s main body in his hand.

”What do you feel when you see this?”

The vine core trembled in Wen Yu’s hand.

”No...no feelings.”

WHACK.

Wen Yu straightforwardly gave the vine core a knock on its head.

”Tell the truth!”

”Fragrant... Fragrant... Want to eat...”

Cowed by Wen Yu’s might, the vine decisively expressed its desire.

Hearing the Spiritual Fluctuation from the vine core, Wen Yu immediately smiled and gently tugged on one of the Almighty Demon Vine’s tendrils.

”If you feel like eating, then eat!”

After saying that, Wen Yu immediately lifted the restrictions on the Almighty Demon Vine!

The Almighty Demon Vine followed its instinct and, the moment Wen Yu’s restraint was lifted, it instantly lunged towards the vine core!

The tip of the Almighty Demon Vine, like a sharp spike, instantly stabbed into the vine core. Under Wen Yu’s intense gaze, the emerald green vine core seemed to partially dissolve, turning into a viscous liquid, and was then rapidly absorbed into the Almighty Demon Vine’s tendrils.

This speed was much faster than Wen Yu had expected—this wasn’t just due to the Almighty Demon Vine’s absorption ability; it was more a result of the vine core’s active choice!

Wen Yu wanted to use the vine core to promote the Almighty Demon Vine’s Evolution.

And the vine core, how could it not covet the Almighty Demon Vine’s terrifying talent and combat power?

The spiritual bond between the Almighty Demon Vine and Wen Yu was very strong—although not as strong as the link between a soul pet and the Soul Realm space, it was indeed much stronger than a general contract!

It was under this strong spiritual bond that Wen Yu dared to let the vine core and the Almighty Demon Vine engage in a battle of consumption, using the Almighty Demon Vine’s own body as the battlefield!

To use a term from Xianxia, it would be ’possession’!

The vine core wanted to possess the Almighty Demon Vine.

And the Almighty Demon Vine coveted the vine core’s energy or some other unknown elements.

When these two clashed, the contest would be nothing more than a comparison of their respective strength and mental fortitude.

In this regard, the Almighty Demon Vine was far inferior to the vine core!

The vine core transformed into a green liquid, burrowed into the Almighty Demon Vine’s body, and immediately launched a powerful attack.

After all, no matter how strong the Almighty Demon Vine was, it was merely a tool. The vine core, however, was a Level 5 mutant creature!

In such a battle purely comparing mental strength and Soul, the outcome was obvious at a glance.

Fortunately, Wen Yu was standing by.

Fortunately, Wen Yu himself possessed Soul-related Skills.

Therefore, the entire situation couldn’t possibly escape Wen Yu’s control!

「Inside the Almighty Demon Vine’s body.」

The vine core effortlessly tore through all of the Almighty Demon Vine’s defenses and penetrated deep into its core!

There lay the connection point of the soul link between Wen Yu and the Almighty Demon Vine!

The vine core, seemingly oblivious to the danger, launched a fierce attack on the Almighty Demon Vine’s core!

Survival is the most basic instinct of every creature. Now that the vine had lost its body and core, it had only one way to live—successfully take over the Almighty Demon Vine and regenerate using its body!

For the vine, its original body was likely not as good as the Almighty Demon Vine’s anyway.

Wen Yu, sensing this, watched as if observing a play as the vine’s Spiritual Fluctuation rampaged. Then, through his spiritual link with the Almighty Demon Vine, Wen Yu directly sent a Soul Strike into its body...

BANG.

Strictly speaking, there’s no sound in a Soul collision.

However, seeing the vine’s Soul Body recoil as if it had slammed into a wall, dazed and disoriented, Wen Yu couldn’t help but imagine a sound.

”You lied to me! You said you would feed me!” the vine core wailed mentally.

Wen Yu sighed in his heart.

This naive little fellow, even when angry, was far cuter than a smiling Lin Haifeng!
