Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The overwhelming power gave Wen Yu the illusion of sitting in a lone boat, rising and falling in a stormy sea!

The terrifying power level even made Wen Yu tremble with fear, as if he were directly facing the Dominator!

The next second, Wen Yu’s Spirit was forcefully expelled from the core of the Almighty Demon Vine!

...

As soon as he opened his eyes, Wen Yu felt as if the whole world were black and white, as if a red-hot steel rod were stirring around in his mind. Severe pain contorted Wen Yu’s face instantly. He felt dizzy and disoriented, as if his Soul had left his body.

”Cyclops, Star, Victor... be on guard...”

Intermittent Spiritual Fluctuations issued watchful commands to his several soul pets. Wen Yu quickly closed his eyes, trying to calm the discomfort in his mind, but the effect was minimal.

Moreover, before Wen Yu could do anything else, violent energy fluctuations suddenly emanated from within his body.

The next second, under the watchful eyes of the three soul pets and Kasu, a green vine spontaneously spread out from Wen Yu’s body.

The verdant, thin branches twitched like a snake. Then, as if the branches of the Almighty Demon Vine had found their direction, they rushed toward the extra-dimensional gate in an instant!

...

Strictly speaking, the Almighty Demon Vine is merely a tool. Through a blood pact, it is connected to Wen Yu’s body. Even if it undergoes a mutation, it cannot become a special life form that exists independently of Wen Yu. Therefore, what was happening now seemed somewhat bizarre and ridiculous to onlookers.

A vine, thirty centimeters thick, extended from Wen Yu’s arm, writhing around the otherworldly gate like a snake. Its front end extended sharp petals resembling teeth, and it continually ground them against the otherworldly gate—or rather, against something inside it!

Wen Yu, at the other end, wailed in pain from the sudden spiritual impact—the pain was even more intense than that of a Soul Strike!

The three soul pets, receiving Wen Yu’s orders, instantly enlarged their bodies and entered battle mode, their six eyes staring unwaveringly at Kasu nearby—as it appeared, Kasu was the only other living person there.

Kasu, detecting the hostility of the three soul pets, immediately raised his hands in a gesture of surrender and retreated a great distance.

”Boss, Boss, what’s wrong with you?”

The Spiritual Fluctuation transmitted by Cyclops brought Wen Yu to a somewhat clearer state of mind.

”Cyclops, watch Wanping. Victor, watch Kasu. Star, you keep an eye on the Almighty Demon Vine; it’s out of control...”

Judging by the current situation, the Almighty Demon Vine was indeed out of control.

The three soul pets promptly followed Wen Yu’s instructions. Cyclops stepped on Wanping’s corpse. Victor stared relentlessly at Kasu. Star, meanwhile, grumbled while staring at the sinuous branches of the Almighty Demon Vine.

”Boss, how do I keep an eye on this thing? Do you want me to grab it?”

The external Spiritual Fluctuations helped to calm Wen Yu’s mind slightly. Panting heavily, Wen Yu decisively issued a command to Star.

”Just watch what it’s doing. Don’t interfere with it. Buy me ten minutes!”

Ten minutes. Wen Yu determined that was how long he needed to calm the fluctuations in his spiritual world.

”I knew this thing was weird,” Star kept mumbling. ”It was fine before, but after its mutation, it started absorbing Souls and plundering Earth’s very essence, turning it into something like an old demon... The boss told me before not to just eat anything! And you, you fed the Almighty Demon Vine all that random junk. That stuff would’ve been much better for me; it even looked tasty...”

Star mumbled on, then, perhaps dissatisfied with the Almighty Demon Vine, his massive claw kicked it viciously!

This kick seemed to snap the Almighty Demon Vine to attention.

...

”HISS HISS HISS...”

A sound like a snake hissing emitted from the tip of the Almighty Demon Vine. The next second, a cloud of purple mist began to spread from the top of the vine.

Almost at the instant the mist condensed, a pungent and rank odor filled the entire space!

Poison!

The Almighty Demon Vine, at some point, had learned to emit a poisonous mist!

And Wen Yu, its owner, knew nothing about this!

At this moment, even if Wen Yu was slow to react, he understood one thing: there was a major problem with the Almighty Demon Vine!

The Vine Spirit he had fed to the Almighty Demon Vine a few days ago had not been a catalyst for its Evolution and mutation; instead, it seemed to be a key, unlocking something unknown within the vine!

...

The smell of the deadly poison spread quickly. Kasu, smelling the odor, furrowed his brow and retreated several kilometers further.

There was a problem with Wen Yu. However, even if Wen Yu had temporarily lost his fighting ability, his three soul pets were not to be trifled with.

For Kasu, it was best not to get involved.

Wen Yu and his three soul pets remained unmoved in the poison-filled space. Although the poison smelled nauseating, its Lethality wasn’t too high. At the very least, with their combined strength, the man and three pets could ignore it.

However, the Almighty Demon Vine had not released the poison to kill.

...

Purple poisonous fog gathered at the front of the Almighty Demon Vine. Then, its vine writhing, the Almighty Demon Vine maneuvered the massive cloud of poison, circling the otherworldly gate three full times!

The condensing, persistent poisonous fog seemed to trace out a strange rune. The next second, mysterious and peculiar energy fluctuations swept through the entire CH Town!

Then, the otherworldly gate slowly solidified...

The otherworldly gate, which had originally looked like a fleeting shadow, now stood wide open before Wen Yu!

...

”HISS... HISS...”

After several hisses, the Almighty Demon Vine’s branches first pointed to Wen Yu, then to the otherworldly gate.

Unfortunately, in his current state, Wen Yu could not possibly respond.

Perhaps the Almighty Demon Vine, seeing Wen Yu lying motionless on the ground with his eyes closed, decided after a moment to act on its own!

With a ”WHOOSH,” the Almighty Demon Vine plunged into the otherworldly gate!

...

”Alright, the plan is decided. A treasure land key, some items, and two A-Class skills—this is the total price for our lives!”

Hearing Ye Nan’s decision, Zhang Shaojie and Akad nodded in agreement.

For the three of them, there was, in fact, no alternative; this was truly their last resort.

”How much time has passed?” Ye Nan asked.

Hearing Ye Nan’s question, Akad looked at his watch.

”27 minutes left until the extra-dimensional asylum deactivates.”
