Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Outbursts of screams and roars echoed from the distant woods.

After a while, Cyclops, who had already morphed into battle mode, casually returned. He carried a heavily wounded and ghastly Wanping in his mouth, with Star and Victor on his head.

Behind Cyclops, a radiant beam of white light gradually descended from the heavens, transforming into the form of Kasu.

”Wen Yu.”

”Long time no see.”

Wen Yu calmly greeted Kasu.

”Let’s talk now, everyone.”

Since this damn situation had found its way to him, and it involved Wanping, his ”enemy,” Wen Yu decided to settle it on CH Town’s territory, putting his mind at ease.

Cyclops brought Wanping to Wen Yu. Wen Yu looked at the bewildered expression on Wanping’s face and couldn’t help but reveal a faint smile.

Perhaps Wanping was greatly shocked by my sudden appearance.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu didn’t say a word. The darkness in his hands condensed into a thread, directly wrapping around Wanping’s neck.

SST.

A faint sound emitted, and Wanping’s head was lopped off.

Next, Wen Yu ignored Wanping’s headless body, walked up to it, and picked up the space ring on Wanping’s finger.

Wanping had plenty of escape methods, but without the tools in his space ring, where could he run?

After taking care of this, Wen Yu commanded Cyclops to hold down Wanping’s body to prevent him from resurrecting suddenly, then turned towards Kasu.

The whole scene fell into silence.

When Ye Nan led them to Wen Yu, the situation took another turn.

The one with the biggest fists is the boss. That’s the truth of this world. Just now, Kasu’s fists were the biggest, so he could chase down anyone he wanted to kill.

But now, Wen Yu was the one dictating everything here.

Not only was Ye Nan anxious, but Kasu himself was also filled with complex emotions. If Akad truly had Wen Yu’s support, Kasu might have to return empty-handed this time.

”How did you leave Yanjing?”

Wen Yu kept an eye on Wanping’s condition while chatting idly with Kasu.

It wasn’t surprising that Ye Nan and Wanping were in M City; it was their hometown, after all.

But Kasu’s appearance here confused Wen Yu somewhat.

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, Kasu hesitated for a moment, then pointed at Akad and the fallen Wanping.

”I came to kill him, and him.”

”Oh?”

Wen Yu raised an eyebrow.

”Why? No particular reason, just gossiping.”

”Their crimes are heinous; they deserve death.”

A perfect excuse, one that left Wen Yu speechless.

After a moment, Wen Yu smiled bitterly at Kasu and said, ”You really live a tiresome life...”

In Wen Yu’s eyes, punishing evil and promoting good was an absolutely thankless task.

With that said, Wen Yu didn’t ask Kasu any more questions. Instead, he walked over to Wanping’s body and began to examine its condition closely.

This guy has a rebirth-type skill; I’m sure of it. Last time, I was caught off guard by it. This time, I won’t make the same mistake.

In simpler terms, I’m just guarding the body. I have plenty of time to spare now, so spending a few days watching over Wanping’s corpse is no big deal!

Kasu, standing aside, saw Wen Yu’s actions and spoke up.

”Wanping’s skill is on record with the military: Tri-Soul Indestructible Body, S-class, Passive ability. When the host dies, one soul within the body is randomly consumed, and the host will resurrect within one day. The host can control the resurrection time, but be warned: the randomly consumed soul might be the main soul. If the main soul is chosen, the host will be replaced by a consumed lesser soul, transforming into a mindless killing monster!”

”He can control his resurrection time, but not beyond one day. He still has two souls in his body. Just wait for two days, and Wanping will be truly dead.”

”Thank you.”

Wen Yu readily accepted Kasu’s gesture of goodwill.

However, for a straightforward person like Kasu, doing Wen Yu a favor undoubtedly meant he wanted something in return.

Sure enough, barely two seconds after Wen Yu said ”thank you,” Kasu pointed at Ye Nan and the other two.

”So, if I kill them now, will you interfere?”

”Interfere? Why would I interfere?”

Wen Yu cocked an eyebrow, shook his head, and gave his answer with firm conviction.

This answer not only delighted Kasu but also made the hearts of Ye Nan and the other two sink.

Seeing Ye Nan frown, his lips moving slightly as if he wanted to say something, Wen Yu decisively waved his index finger, cutting him off.

”Didn’t you come here seeking my protection? Unfortunately, I have nothing to do with this. If he wants to kill you, I might protect you for a moment, but not indefinitely. I can’t just kill Kasu for the sake of our meager connection, can I? I have no grudge against him.”

”So, even if you run to me, I don’t want to get involved in your messy affairs.”

After speaking, Wen Yu pointed at Wanping on the ground.

”This time, I only want his life. I don’t care about anything else!”

The logic was very simple: they had their own grudges, so they should fight and settle life and death among themselves. He would only deal with his own enemy; everything else was none of his concern.

Once Wen Yu made his stance clear, Kasu reacted instantly.

The white light around his body flickered, and an immense sense of danger, like a surging tide, swept towards Ye Nan and the other two.

”Wait a minute, Wen Yu!” Ye Nan blurted out. ”Didn’t you say you’d kill Wanping in front of me?”

”I already did kill him.”

Wen Yu pointed at Wanping’s corpse on the ground and replied decisively.

Then, as if remembering something, Wen Yu spread his hand, and dark energy instantly enveloped Sun Ruixing’s nearby tombstone.

In this godforsaken place, Old Sun’s tombstone is about the only thing I care about.

Having done this, Wen Yu nodded and then made a ”please proceed” gesture to Kasu.

”Please, continue...”

”Old Ye, what do we do? This backer you found is really unreliable!”

Zhang Shaojie grumbled to Ye Nan, all while keeping a wary eye on the immense pressure emanating from Kasu.

”How was I supposed to know Wen Yu would suddenly pull something like this?”

”Right, I really thought you two had a strong connection. Watching someone die without helping—is that what you call friendship? It seems your connections aren’t all that great either. Now, what do we do?”

Zhang Shaojie tightly shielded Ye Nan and Akad, then threw a fierce punch with his right fist, instantly shattering three light projectiles Kasu had fired. But this was merely the appetizer.
