Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

As a reborner, Tang Haofei had some understanding of the rules for these types of treasure lands.

A treasure land encouraging free exploration was essentially like another open-world ruin. The ability to enter multiple times, combined with the absence of compulsory tasks, gave this type of treasure land immense freedom.

In his previous life, he had a well-established routine for such treasure lands: the first visit was primarily for understanding the rules, avoiding danger, and mapping the area. True exploration began from the second visit.

It must be said, the experience of a reborner was truly different.

And compared to Wen Yu, the gap between one reborner and another was indeed not small...

Following Tang Haofei’s order, several hundred professionists mobilized swiftly. Led by one among them, they rushed towards the nearest transmission channel.

This was one area where organizations held an advantage over individuals. In this type of exploration-based treasure land, even an advantaged Wen Yu probably couldn’t match these military folks in terms of speed and efficiency.

「Another place on the First Layer of Tiangong.」

Ye Nan, along with Akad and Zhang Shaojie, was on a desolate, uninhabited floating continent. Before them lay Wanping’s headless corpse.

”Old Ye, what should we do now?”

”What now? We wait. Wait for Wanping’s Resurrection, then we finish him off right here.”

Ye Nan stated his decision, his face devoid of expression.

Carrying Wanping’s body around was too risky, especially since this treasure land had no compulsory rules. Thus, guarding Wanping’s corpse became Ye Nan’s best option.

However, Ye Nan turned his head, looked at his companions, then assessed his current overall strength.

Initially, the combined strength of his trio might have only been on par with Wanping. But now, after Wanping had lost a life and his space ring, if Ye Nan still didn’t dare to confront him head-on, then his talk of revenge would be nothing but a joke!

Wen Yu might not care if Wanping lived or died, but Ye Nan was different. Wanping had to die at his hands!!!

With this thought, Ye Nan silently focused on his space ring, searching for any items that could aid in the upcoming battle.

「Another direction on the First Layer of Tiangong.」

Kasu soared on his pure white light wings, trying to locate Akad.

Upon seeing Ye Nan, Wen Yu, and the others enter the suddenly accessible treasure land, Kasu hadn’t hesitated and plunged in after them.

Whether for the treasures within or for his ”judgment” of Akad, Kasu could not ignore the treasure land before him.

But, perhaps by a twist of fate, Kasu and Ye Nan’s group had been teleported to locations at completely opposite ends of the treasure land upon entry.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Kasu likely wouldn’t be able to interfere in the ’fated showdown’ between Wanping and Ye Nan.

Wen Yu, however, was oblivious to these other developments.

Currently, Wen Yu was gazing at the magnificent Heavenly Palace Forge before him. Professionists swarmed around it like locusts, and he sighed inwardly.

It seems I’m still too late...

Wen Yu had entered the treasure land quite early, but he had been delayed too long en route. In this world, there were always lucky individuals. Some, upon entering the First Layer of Tiangong, could find a transmission channel to the second layer almost immediately. Among those, a few would even be teleported directly near the Heavenly Palace Forge on the second layer right after transmission.

Considering the sheer number of people who had entered the treasure land, even an advantaged Wen Yu seemed to have arrived a little late.

Luck was sometimes just unreasonable!

However, the Almighty Demon Vine’s response was full of confidence.

”Don’t mind them. Those people are merely lucky. Inside the Heavenly Palace, luck can indeed bring rewards, but to get a truly big haul, you need strength!”

”These small fry can’t even reach the core of the forge. Head that way!”

The Almighty Demon Vine sent a Spiritual Fluctuation to Wen Yu. Simultaneously, the emerald vine coiled around Wen Yu’s right hand swiftly pointed towards a specific direction.

Seeing this, Wen Yu immediately headed in the direction indicated by the Almighty Demon Vine.

The architecture along the path was unlike any style known on Earth, yet the buildings were relatively well-preserved. This was likely due to a highly comprehensive defense system that once existed here. However, with the fall of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, even the most advanced defense system would become useless without maintenance and energy.

For instance, Wen Yu personally witnessed a Third-level professionist break into a building. Less than half a minute later, the wrecked, already scrapped remains of a puppet were unceremoniously thrown out.

Wen Yu stepped forward to examine the puppet. It bore some resemblance to the guard puppets of the Eternal Sky City. However, judging by its appearance and the complexity of its runes, this puppet’s technology was significantly inferior to those of the Eternal Sky City. It’s not surprising, though. The Dominator has absorbed the Technological Systems of countless worlds; His technology naturally surpasses that of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes!

None of the professionists Wen Yu encountered along the way were powerful experts who caught his attention. Besides, after the apocalypse, information flow was restricted in many areas, so they wouldn’t recognize Wen Yu’s face or his status as Sequence Number 2. At most, they found the vine on his right hand conspicuous.

When unsure of the strength of surrounding ”competitors” and with no major treasures yet discovered, keeping a low profile and avoiding trouble was undoubtedly a wise choice.

Thus, in an atmosphere of cautious yet ”harmonious” vigilance, Wen Yu followed the Almighty Demon Vine’s directions and entered an inconspicuous building.

Rows of giant, punk-style machines stood neatly arranged. Whether due to their materials or the methods of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, even after countless eons, these machines—if they could still be called that—were remarkably well-preserved.

However, lacking an energy source, these steel behemoths had long lost their original functions. They lay dormant, like sleeping beasts. Only from subtle details could Wen Yu glimpse the former glory of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes.

Even the greatest power cannot withstand the erosion of endless time.

Seeing this scene, the Almighty Demon Vine spoke with a touch of melancholy.

”This was once the blacksmith’s forge that crafted standard equipment for Level 10 powerful experts, but it’s non-functional now.”

Wen Yu frowned slightly.

He didn’t care what this place was used for.

Wen Yu only cared about one thing.
