Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Determination is a contagious will.

When a key member of the team has determination, it influences others to be filled with it as well.

Thus, after Chen Wen showed his determination, the others no longer feared difficulties or retreated.

They chose to trust Chen Wen and faced the challenges head-on.

Chen Wen released the Taipan Snake.

During this time, the Taipan Snake had visibly grown larger, and Chen Wen thought it was time to let it exercise.

Meanwhile, the hawk instinctively hovered above Chen Wen’s head, providing a high-altitude view.

Chen Wen gripped the long spear tightly, his gaze resolute.

He no longer deliberately looked ahead on the path but instead judged the direction based on the growth of the surrounding vegetation.

This method allowed him to minimize the impact of the oppressive environment.

The Taipan Snake moved quickly on the ground, using its tongue to detect pheromones and its vision to help Chen Wen guard against venomous snake attacks.

With the escort of these two animals, Chen Wen’s speed increased once again.

The two teams behind no longer focused solely on the path ahead but carefully watched their steps, quickly following Chen Wen.

Adam and Hua Yun, whose symptoms were not severe, occasionally marked arrow signs on the trees beside them.

Together, around noon.

Chen Wen suddenly felt a cool breeze gradually blowing towards him.

He squinted slightly, enjoying the coolness of the wind.

As he looked up ahead, the oppressive vegetation disappeared from view!

Instead, sparse trees, bushes, meadows, and bright light replaced them.

The wind was coming from ahead, feeling comfortable.

”We made it out!”

Chen Wen stopped, his eyes filled with emotion.

Feeling the wind blowing from outside, Hua Yun and the others, who had experienced the oppressive journey, closed their eyes, letting the breeze caress their bodies.

Chen Wen turned around, glancing at the still dense and deep forest.

He chuckled softly, no longer thinking much about it.

This experience was invaluable; if faced with similar circumstances and environments in the future, Chen Wen would not hesitate.

...

The group walked out of the valley and onto the plains.

Facing the new plains, their spirits were renewed.

”Baobab Tree!”

Seeing the large tree ahead, Chen Wen’s eyes lit up: ”Everyone, we’ve found a spot to rest for lunch! Underneath this Baobab Tree, we can cool off! And judging by the tree’s low number of fruits, let’s pick them all and enjoy something fresh!”

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Food can be the quickest remedy to dispel oppressive feelings.

Eating food not only satisfies appetite but also releases neurotransmitters like dopamine and endorphins, elevating mood.

Hence, under Chen Wen’s rally, everyone exerted their full strength, taking out their treasured supplies, intending to have a feast.

The main dish of kangaroo meat may seem lacking in class.

But if the kangaroo jerky is sliced into strips, water added to the pot, and boiled with salt, it is of a higher class for wilderness survivors!

Adam and Dennis would be responsible for picking Baobab fruit during the day.

Thus, they joined the hawk in fruit-picking.

Of course, Chen Wen wouldn’t be idle.

While everyone was busy, he took his long spear near the valley, searching for other edible things.

...

Initially, Chen Wen only moved outside the valley.

However, after finding a fig inside the valley, Chen Wen decisively used the long spear to forge a path into the more resource-rich valley interior.

After picking a large pile of figs, Chen Wen stuffed them into his backpack.

The Taipan Snake curiously asked Chen Wen about the many fruits he collected.

Chen Wen explained, ”These are figs, something we can eat, but you shouldn’t eat them; otherwise, your body won’t be able to handle it.”

The Taipan Snake nodded.

But it quickly said, ”If you want to find these fruits, I can help you. They have a unique smell, which I can sense from here!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen was pleasantly surprised.

It’s known that the tongue of a Taipan Snake can directly perceive pheromones.

If it can locate the fig’s pheromones...

No, plant pheromones are mostly non-volatile chemical substances, whereas snake perception is highly specialized for animal pheromones.

It’s not professionally aligned!

However, the Taipan Snake soon said, ”I can’t directly find the fruits, but I can locate the animals near them.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen suddenly understood.

This is achieved by sensing fig wasps to determine the fig’s position.

”So clever!”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but praise.

The Taipan Snake was very pleased.

...

With the Taipan Snake’s help, about five minutes later, Chen Wen found another fig tree.

After picking many figs again, he felt he had plenty stored.

But just as Chen Wen was about to leave, he suddenly noticed some plants with a very unique appearance.

”Hiss, I have a strong impression of this plant!”

Chen Wen said as he quickly approached the patch of plants.

These plants had broad leaves, thick stems, and very large flowers.

Their flowers were unique, with purple color but surrounded by white.

And their flowers looked much like tassels.

Very beautiful.

Apart from the blooming flowers, Chen Wen also noticed many green small fruits beneath these plants.

Chen Wen lightly rubbed his temples, recalling the information he had seen.

Soon, he clapped his hands, ”I remember now! Passionflower!”

Passionflower is a vine plant originally from the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea, now widely planted in tropical and subtropical regions.

And Chen Wen remembered it because the passionflower fruits are edible!

Also, they somewhat resemble passion fruit.

But it seemed that it wasn’t the fruiting season for passionflowers, rather their flowering period.

These fruits looked immature and clearly were not ready for harvest.

Nonetheless, Chen Wen thought otherwise.

If there are fruits, even if difficult to eat, they should be edible!

Chen Wen was certain of this.

Therefore, he planned to pick some fruits, bring them back to camp, and not only eat some himself to earn the entry but also let everyone taste the flavor of passionflowers!

Otherwise, this survival journey wouldn’t be complete!

The saying goes, a person never feels tired while doing mischief.

Chen Wen decisively acted, enduring the hot and humid environment, carefully selecting a few fruits that looked promising.

Once he determined they were enough for everyone to have two each, he ceased his efforts.

After gathering the fruits, Chen Wen planned to return.

Walking down the path, Chen Wen occasionally grinned mischievously, catching the attention of the curious Taipan Snake.

And if Chen Wen’s teammates on the island had seen this scene, they’d surely understand the meaning behind his laughter.

At the time, on the island.

Chen Wen successfully made everyone eat unripe bananas, turning a good post-meal fruit into a sour fruit through a mischievous trick.

At this moment, Chen Wen recalled that experience.

Thinking of his friends on the island, Chen Wen’s expression shifted from quirky to somewhat sentimental.

After this survival, let’s gather with those good buddies more often!

Indeed, he could bring along his current companions too.
