Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Rescuing Fred wasn’t difficult.

Chen Wen took out the rope and had Dennis and Adam hold one end.

Then, boldly, he held onto the rope and moved down along the cliff.

Soon, Chen Wen reached Fred’s side. He grabbed the rope with one hand and tied a slipknot around Fred’s waist with the other hand.

After securing it, Chen Wen climbed back up to the top of the cliff pulling on the rope.

Then, the three of them worked together to pull the exhausted Fred up.

Back at the top, Fred, with trembling arms, thanked everyone: ”Thank you all so much! If it wasn’t for you guys coming to find me, I would’ve been in danger this time!”

Dennis didn’t take credit: ”Thank Chen Wen instead. He was the first to realize that you were late and sent the Screech Owl to look for you.”

Hearing that, Fred looked at Chen Wen and nodded gratefully: ”Brother, really don’t know how to thank you. I’ll make sure to repay you big time later on!”

Chen Wen grinned and waved his hand: ”We’re all teammates here. I brought you in; I’m responsible for your safety. No need to talk about repayment.”

Fred nodded, but his eyes were still full of gratitude.

He’s already decided that this winter, if Chen Wen participates in the Forest Extreme Challenge, he’ll definitely give Chen Wen a surprise!

...

After rescuing Fred, everyone took a break.

Once Fred regained some strength, Chen Wen led everyone back to the camp.

At the camp, Hua Yun had already taken the rock kangaroo meat off the fire and placed it on the open ground by the campfire.

Seeing everyone return safely, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The important thing is that no one got hurt!

After briefly discussing the danger Fred encountered, they all sat around the campfire, eating and chatting.

Chen Wen picked up a piece of rock kangaroo meat, sniffed it, and was hit with a strong gamey odor.

Well, it seems this stuff is still hard to eat!

Prepared mentally, Chen Wen took a big bite of the rock kangaroo meat, his eyebrows knitting tightly.

But soon, as the system chimed in, Chen Wen’s eyebrows relaxed.

Even though the rock kangaroo only dropped one good attribute, it was perfect for Chen Wen’s current use.

[Rock On Gold: You can move more quickly in rocky mountain and hill areas, maintain balance, and are less likely to trip while in motion.]

This attribute came at a very opportune time.

Chen Wen nodded in satisfaction, more confident in his plan to move along the rock kangaroo’s escape route.

After eating, everyone busied themselves roasting the rest of the rock kangaroo meat into jerky for storage.

By the time the jerky was done, it was around three in the afternoon.

This time was enough for everyone to make their way down the mountain.

So, under Chen Wen’s leadership, the group began to move.

...

They arrived at the place where they hunted rock kangaroos.

The group of rock kangaroos, startled by Chen Wen, would undoubtedly not dare to return to this area.

Chen Wen was a bit disappointed.

He had hoped that if the rock kangaroos returned, he could take advantage of it and score another haul.

”Let’s go; I remember the route. I’ll go down first, and you guys watch from behind. If the route seems feasible, then go down one by one.”

Chen Wen instructed, then took the rope from Hua Yun.

He tied one end of the rope around his waist, leaving the other end with everyone else just in case.

Then Chen Wen began to move.

He started from the place where the rock kangaroos foraged.

Moving along the path trampled by the rock kangaroos, Chen Wen steadily advanced over the loose gravel.

”You should be careful. There’s a lot of gravel on this route, so mind your step!”

Chen Wen said as he advanced rapidly.

Aside from the abundant gravel, there were almost no dangers on this route.

Moreover, with the [Rock On] bonus and the parkour skills learned from Vice President Qu Yong,

Chen Wen covered nearly a third of the journey quickly.

At this moment, a looming obstacle appeared before him.

A giant rock blocked Chen Wen’s path.

Recalling the rock kangaroo’s escape route, the kangaroos had jumped onto this boulder’s slope and then off it.

This giant rock would be hard to climb; its slope was steep, and there were almost no protrusions.

However, this was no obstacle for Chen Wen.

He took a few steps back to gather strength.

”Here we go!”

With a shout, Chen Wen leaped to the rock’s slope.

He clawed at the rocky slope, searching for leverage points.

Soon, Chen Wen’s fingers found a lightly protruding rocky seam.

He gripped this rock point tightly with his fingertips and used it to climb upwards.

Behind him, Adam’s jaw practically dropped: ”Wang Defa! Bouldering! How does he even know how to do this?”

Hua Yun was just as stunned.

It was already incredible that Chen Wen had learned rock climbing, but this was even more extraordinary.

Bouldering is when a climber ascends without ropes, relying solely on their own strength.

Bouldering boasts an impressive displays of power, often called ”ballet on a cliff.”

And though Chen Wen had a rope tied around his waist, it offered no support or protection in the climb, making it essentially bouldering!

”Absolutely insane!”

Dennis couldn’t resist exclaiming: ”What doesn’t this guy know how to do!”

However, Fred said, ”No, Chen Wen’s moves aren’t professional bouldering moves. Our association has a bouldering expert; I’ve watched them closely, and compared to the professional, Chen Wen’s moves aren’t standard bouldering at all, lacking even some necessary safety moves.”

”Then what is this?”

Adam asked.

Fred paused and said, ”It’s purely relying on his own exceptional physical strength, making it more impressive than bouldering!”

Everyone fell silent.

My goodness, it’s something even more exaggerated!

But why does it feel so familiar?

At this moment, Chen Wen used those tiny rock points again, this time even combining the effects of [Giant Strength].

Thus, his body seemed to ’fly’ agilely to the top of the rock, akin to a lightweight skill master in Hua Country martial arts films.

Adam shook his head: ”Totally absurd!”

Fred looked on in admiration: ”So powerful!”

Dennis grinned: ”Evolving secretly without inviting me, huh?”

Even Hua Yun couldn’t help but say: ”Getting up there is fine, but why gesture at us? Is it showing off or mocking?”

Fred silently muttered, ”I think Chen Wen wants us to come over.”

At this, Dennis glanced at the rope in his hand, nearly at its end.

”Let’s move; it’s our turn.”

Adam said, ”Without Chen Wen’s help, we definitely wouldn’t get up this rock.”

Everyone nodded.

Following the path Chen Wen scouted, they swiftly and safely arrived below the giant rock with their gear.

Chen Wen didn’t say much, just noted: ”One at a time. Fred last.”

Fred adeptly took everyone’s gear and let them go up first.

Just like the previous cliff climbing, Chen Wen, pulling the rope, soon hoisted everyone up.

And when climbing this boulder,

seeing the nearly nonexistent rock points, everyone was astounded.

These can actually be used as rock points?

After pulling everyone up this boulder, Chen Wen took a moment to rest.

He looked at the road ahead and reminded everyone: ”The next path isn’t too hard; just follow behind me.”
