Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Handling this red kangaroo wasn’t difficult.

Dennis dragged it outside the forest and began to deal with it.

The presence of the brown tree snake had left him with a mental shadow.

He now had a slight fear of the forest.

Taking out his dagger, Dennis began to dissect the kangaroo and remove the good meat from its body.

Chen Wen watched the scene of the kangaroo being dissected, and his skin was crawling with goosebumps.

He shook his head and repeatedly told himself it was just a kangaroo to stop his discomfort.

The few others nearby showed the same expression as Chen Wen.

They also thought this thing looked too much like a human in shape.

Dennis seemed to notice this and smiled to comfort everyone.

Soon, after cutting open the kangaroo’s skin, Dennis quickly sliced off large chunks of raw meat from the kangaroo.

Chen Wen took a piece.

He examined it carefully, noting that the kangaroo meat’s texture looked somewhat similar to beef but had very little fat.

Moreover, it had a very heavy gamey and musk smell.

”This taste, probably needs a lot of seasoning to taste good.”

Chen Wen said, shaking his head, ”I’ll take this meat back first.”

The others nodded, waiting for Dennis to continue dividing the raw meat.

...

Meanwhile, while everyone was dealing with the kangaroo.

Not far from there.

Outside a bush.

A lizard slowly stood up.

It supported its slender body with strong hind legs, watching the scene from a distance.

This lizard gazed at Chen Wen and his group.

It was somewhat nervous.

To most wild animals, humans still inspired fear.

But the dead red kangaroo was also attracting its attention.

It could smell the fresh bloody scent from the red kangaroo, and that smell was like a drug to it, fascinating!

This lizard had been hungry for a long time.

It still remembered that the last meal was a long time ago, and it wasn’t anything good.

It was just a little snake that had strayed into its territory.

Not much meat, all bones.

After a few crunchy bites, there was no flavor left.

But this dead red kangaroo was different.

It had meat, and a lot of it!

Enough meat for it to feast on several times!

The lizard stuck out its tongue, constantly collecting the scents in the air.

Soon, it made a decision.

Starve if you’re timid, feast if you’re bold!

The lizard moved on all fours, pacing lightly towards the red kangaroo.

If Chen Wen were nearby, he would surely see the two big characters on the lizard’s head.

[Bold]!

This was a special animal with a bold personality, and it was a lizard.

A top-tier lizard living in Australia!

...

As for Chen Wen.

He had already returned to the camp, where Hua Yun and the others were still waiting for Dennis to finish portioning the red kangaroo and bring the meat back in batches.

Taking advantage of this rare leisure time, Chen Wen picked up his dagger, cut the kangaroo meat into strips, and leisurely fed the Vulture and the Witchetty Hawk.

While feeding, Chen Wen was also considering a matter.

Should he continue to take the Witchetty Hawk to the Kimberley Plateau?

The rainy season in the Kimberley Plateau wasn’t very suitable for the Witchetty Hawk’s survival; the damp environment could easily make its skin ill.

Looking at the Witchetty Hawk, Chen Wen thought about whether to let it rest early at the second gathering point.

Not far away.

Dennis took out the kangaroo’s entrails and set them aside.

Taking the time, Dennis straightened his back and planned to rest for a while.

He supported his waist with both hands and stretched: ”Ugh~ah! Getting old! Just did a bit of work, feels like my waist isn’t mine anymore!”

Adam grinned.

Dennis was the oldest among them, already thirty-two this year.

For survivors, this was actually a prime age for striving.

But Adam knew his friend’s nature well, someone who avoids exertion if possible.

He was just about to tease Dennis a couple of sentences.

Suddenly, Adam caught sight of some movement from the corner of his eye.

He let out a mild exclamation, squinting to get a better look.

”Dennis, look to the side, is there something approaching?”

Adam said, gesturing with his hand for Dennis to look to the side.

Dennis followed Adam’s pointing finger, then squinted his eyes too.

”Hiss! The grass over there is moving, seems like some animal is approaching!”

Dennis said as he suddenly remembered something.

He immediately picked up a stick, while reminding everyone: ”Be careful, it might be something like Australian Wild Dogs, no, Australian Wild Dogs aren’t that low, could it be...”

Dennis couldn’t make up his mind.

They could only see the grass over there moving, constantly approaching, but they couldn’t tell what kind of animal it was.

Dennis gritted his teeth and quickly said, ”Call Chen Wen!”

Hua Yun heard and didn’t hesitate.

She immediately signaled towards Chen Wen, and the alarmed Chen Wen also stood up.

He realized something was happening here.

So he quickly picked up his long spear and rushed over.

When Chen Wen arrived, the commotion over there seemed to have stopped.

Dennis pointed to where the grass had moved and explained what had happened.

After hearing the whole thing, Chen Wen was also baffled.

What could be here?

And at this moment, Dennis analyzed: ”It should be something alive, it just stopped in the bushes over there, should we go check it out?”

”Let’s not go there first, we don’t know what it is, approaching rashly might cost us dearly.”

Chen Wen said prudently.

He beckoned, and the Vulture immediately flew over.

”Go see what’s going on, off you go!”

Chen Wen said, casually tossing the Vulture into the sky.

The Vulture instantly flapped its wings and took off.

Soon, after circling twice in the air, the Vulture returned to Chen Wen’s side.

It let out a series of rapid cries, leaving the people around confused.

But Chen Wen caught the message clearly.

”There’s a really strange animal there, a bit like a Taipan Snake in its shimmer, but much bigger, and it looks very odd, a bit like a camel king, with four legs and a long tail, doesn’t seem very dangerous.”

Listening to the Vulture’s description, Chen Wen pondered for a long time before suddenly hitting his thigh: Isn’t this a lizard?

A snake with legs, and much bigger than a Taipan Snake.

Chen Wen quickly thought of the common lizards in Kimberley that matched the Vulture’s description.

In surviving here, it needed to adapt to the savanna climate, and it also had to be bigger than a Taipan Snake.

Very quickly, Chen Wen thought of two types of lizards, the Kimberley Rock Monitor, a local species, and the renowned Perentie.

According to the information from the Australian Association, contestants had spotted Perentie in this area before.

Thinking of this, Chen Wen felt relieved: ”I feel this shouldn’t be any particularly dangerous animal, the Vulture just discovered it but didn’t sense any real danger.”

Hearing Chen Wen say this, Dennis chimed in: ”I also feel like it might be some agile small creature.”

Chen Wen nodded: ”No matter what it is, to be safe, let’s get closer and take a look!”

This idea received approval from everyone.

The group picked up their weapons, with Fred and Adam staying behind to watch over the food.

Chen Wen and the others slowly approached the unknown lizard.

Soon, as the three approached.

The creature in the bushes also felt the pressure.

It shifted its body, seemingly undecided.

At this point, Dennis picked up a stick and tapped the bushes from a distance.

Soon, a sound similar to hissing came from the bushes.

Upon hearing that sound, Dennis’s eyes lit up: ”Lizard!”
