Wilderness Survival with Druid System

A few minutes ago.

Fred hadn’t found a suitable route, so he planned to return.

But on the way back.

Fred passed by a cliff, which seemed quite suitable for descending with a rope.

Years of survival experience had taught Fred this.

However, as he passed by, Fred noticed that the rocks beneath his feet were quite loose.

Therefore, he walked with as much caution as possible, but despite his extreme care, an accident still happened.

As he stepped beside the cliff.

The rocks clinging to the cliff, after years of erosion by wind and water, were at their breaking point.

Fred’s weight became the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

With the sound of rocks breaking, Fred felt emptiness beneath his feet.

He only managed to reach out and grab a small, unidentified tree by the cliff, and then his body plummeted sharply.

His whole body fell rapidly but was pulled by the small tree to crash against the cliff.

Bam!

Crashing into the cliff left Fred dizzy, with a rusty taste spreading through his nose.

”Hiss!”

Fred couldn’t help but furrow his brows; his body pained unbearably.

He glanced down; his body was completely suspended in mid-air, with the small tree above being his only hope for survival.

”Damn, what bad luck!”

Fred cursed gruffly to himself.

He attempted to use his feet to reach for the protrusions on the cliff, planning to climb up by holding onto them.

But as Fred attempted to move, his actions disturbed the small tree that wasn’t very secure to begin with, causing more of its roots clinging to the cliff’s edge to break away.

”Shit!”

Fred’s body sank, and he cursed.

But he dared not make any more movements.

At this moment, the drone following Fred had already received the message, and the staff behind the screen promptly reported the situation to the upper management for a decision.

Upon seeing this scene, the leadership crudely and simply determined that Fred had lost the capacity to continue surviving.

Just as he was about to send someone to rescue Fred.

The president of the Australian Survival Association stopped the rescue operation.

Because on the screen, a whistling eagle had landed on the cliff next to Fred.

...

”A whistling eagle? Really smart?”

Seeing the whistling eagle, Fred suddenly realized he might still have a chance to be rescued!

Excitedly, he immediately whistled at the whistling eagle, using the method Chen Wen most often employed to give commands to it.

But upon hearing this sound, the whistling eagle only tilted its head and looked at Fred.

This guy must be an idiot!

What’s he whistling for?

But the whistling eagle still sensed that Fred seemed to be in danger now.

It flapped its wings and flew back quickly, intending to notify Chen Wen.

Watching the whistling eagle fly away, Fred breathed a sigh of relief.

Rescue is coming!

He looked down; it was about twenty meters to the bottom of the valley from here.

Moreover, the bottom of the valley was strewn with loose, sharp rocks.

Fred couldn’t help but feel apprehensive.

If he fell, it wouldn’t be certain death, but it would at least be a situation of nine lives out of ten lost.

Really smart, really smart!

Hope you can get Chen Wen here!

Fred took a deep breath, conserving his strength.

Although he was quite heavy, his strength was considerable too, and hanging there, Fred estimated he could hold on for about thirty minutes.

Hopefully, Chen Wen can arrive in time!

Fred closed his eyes and began to endure.

...

On Chen Wen’s side.

Everyone anxiously awaited news from the whistling eagle or Fred.

As the group grew more anxious, Chen Wen looked up and noticed the whistling eagle had returned.

He immediately extended his hand, signaling for the whistling eagle to land directly on his arm — Chen Wen had previously made a pad from camel hide, which was tied to his arm and fit perfectly for the whistling eagle to grasp.

The whistling eagle landed on Chen Wen’s arm and let out a series of short cries.

The others couldn’t understand what it meant, but Chen Wen could.

The whistling eagle’s message was simple: ”I found your companion. He’s trying to learn to fly!”

Learn to fly?

Before Chen Wen could ask.

The whistling eagle continued: ”But it doesn’t look like he’s doing well, seems about to die.”

”When I found him, he was outside the cliff, holding onto a tree next to it, looking like he could fall at any moment.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen’s face turned green.

This isn’t just learning to fly horizontally; it’s on course to soar into the sky!

He didn’t have time for more words and quickly signaled the whistling eagle: ”Lead the way!”

The whistling eagle, hearing this, flapped its wings and took off immediately, guiding Chen Wen.

The others just wanted to ask what was happening.

But Chen Wen immediately said: ”Hua Yun, stay at the camp, Dennis, Adam, you two come with me to rescue Fred!”

Fred is in danger!

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately understood the gravity of the situation.

Without any hesitation, Adam and his companion decisively followed Chen Wen.

Under the guidance of the whistling eagle and Chen Wen, they rushed towards Fred at top speed.

...

Time was ticking away, second by second.

Fred could feel his arms growing numb, accompanied by swelling and soreness.

”Damn, I’m done for!”

Fred opened his eyes, eyes full of reluctance.

He also tried to rescue himself.

But with every big movement, the tree above would start to shake.

Making him not dare to move too much.

This formed a deadlock.

Therefore, after several attempts, Fred realized he had to either abandon the small tree, make a desperate move, and lunge at the cliff, trying to stabilize his body.

Or not move much and wait for the whistling eagle to notify Chen Wen to come to the rescue.

If he were alone, Fred would definitely rescue himself decisively.

But now he was with Chen Wen, and the whistling eagle had just found him.

This left Fred with a glimmer of hope in his heart.

So, he decided to wait for Chen Wen to come to the rescue.

Unfortunately, as time ticked by, Fred’s strength was waning, and Chen Wen was nowhere in sight.

And self-rescue was even harder now.

Due to insufficient strength, Fred struggled to clutch the cliff and keep his body balanced.

Fred felt a sense of despair, feeling as if he was being engulfed by hopelessness.

But just as Fred closed his eyes, with the feeling of giving up creeping into his heart.

A sound of footsteps came from afar, drawing nearer.

Was it his hallucination?

Fred couldn’t help but think.

But when he opened his eyes, the footsteps had become increasingly clear.

It wasn’t a single set of footsteps; it was several!

Not a hallucination!

Chen Wen had come!

Fred pulled at the corners of his mouth; he had made the right choice!

Just as Fred was about to call for help, at that moment, Chen Wen’s head emerged from above the cliff.

Seeing Fred, Chen Wen gasped: ”Whoa! Bro, you look like you’re about to die there!”

Fred, with a wry smile, shouted, ”Help!”

”Don’t worry!”

Chen Wen gave a thumbs-up, and Fred immediately felt at ease.
