Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After making up his mind.

Chen Wen let Dennis and the others take most of the kangaroo meat, leaving only a portion that wasn’t easily transportable, along with the intestines.

Seeing Chen Wen planning to tame the Eyed Spotted Lizard, the group was intrigued but adhered to the previously discussed rules.

They safely took the supplies and left the area.

Once everyone had departed.

Chen Wen squatted down and met the eyes of the very bold and desperately hungry Eyed Spotted Lizard.

”Hey, is it tasty?”

Chen Wen initiated communication with the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

The Eyed Spotted Lizard paused while devouring the kangaroo lung, staring blankly at Chen Wen.

Confused.

The Eyed Spotted Lizard looked around but finally focused its gaze back on Chen Wen.

It was very certain that the two-legged creature before it was quite peculiar.

”Who are you?”

The Eyed Spotted Lizard struggled to swallow the kangaroo lung and looked at Chen Wen.

Judging by the tone of the Eyed Spotted Lizard, it seemed to be very old.

”Who I am doesn’t matter. What’s important is, do you want to make a deal with me?”

Chen Wen smiled gently, his demeanor like the benevolent Buddha, making the lizard feel inexplicably close.

But the Eyed Spotted Lizard didn’t approach Chen Wen.

It realized that what it had just swallowed was this two-legged creature’s prey!

He is at the same level as a predator as it is, even more skilled!

The Eyed Spotted Lizard can hunt red kangaroos, but they are usually subadult red kangaroos or juvenile red kangaroos.

Adult red kangaroos can run as fast as the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

Moreover, their stamina is better than the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

The Eyed Spotted Lizard can’t catch up with them.

Also, desperate red kangaroos can use their greater weight to injure the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

Therefore, facing Chen Wen, who can hunt adult red kangaroos, the Eyed Spotted Lizard is extremely wary: ”No deal! You better leave!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen grinned, somewhat speechless.

Good heavens, not only did you steal my food, you also want me to leave?

How bold is that?

However, he realized that this Eyed Spotted Lizard’s hunger for food had surpassed its fear of humans.

He thought for a moment, deciding to use food as bait to communicate further with the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

”How about this, let’s eat while we talk.”

Chen Wen took out a knife, and under the wary gaze of the Eyed Spotted Lizard, he cut a piece of the red kangaroo’s intestines and tossed it over.

Seeing a piece of meat thrown over, the Eyed Spotted Lizard instinctively stretched its head and caught the kangaroo’s intestines.

Swallowed it whole.

This piece of meat successfully shortened the distance between the Eyed Spotted Lizard and Chen Wen.

Its wariness towards Chen Wen decreased significantly.

”Want more to eat?”

Chen Wen dangled a piece of meat, tempting the Eyed Spotted Lizard’s appetite.

The Eyed Spotted Lizard nodded.

Chen Wen decisively tossed another piece for the Eyed Spotted Lizard to swallow.

Honestly, he thought this guy’s stomach was quite impressive. It had already eaten more than half of the kangaroo lung and two pieces of meat that weighed several pounds, yet it still wasn’t full?

After swallowing the meat, the Eyed Spotted Lizard looked at Chen Wen with desire.

As Chen Wen cut the meat, he asked, ”Do you want more meat?”

The Eyed Spotted Lizard, watching Chen Wen cut the meat, grew uneasy.

If I don’t say anything, will he stop cutting?

With this thought in mind, the Eyed Spotted Lizard nodded: ”Yes!”

Chen Wen seized the opportunity: ”Come with me, leave here, I can keep you safe and give you more meat. How about it?”

Hearing this, the Eyed Spotted Lizard hesitated noticeably.

It looked at Chen Wen and the meat in his hand, seemingly contemplating something.

Chen Wen smiled as he tossed the meat over and said, ”No worries, think it over. If you want it, we’ll go together; if not, I won’t force you to come along.”

”Regardless of what you say, this meat is yours; I’m just helping you cut it into pieces for easier swallowing.”

Although the Eyed Spotted Lizard could tear the meat into pieces to swallow, seeing it almost choke while swallowing the kangaroo lung earlier, Chen Wen felt it was best to tear it apart for it.

Feeling Chen Wen’s sincerity, the Eyed Spotted Lizard quietly accepted the deal.

A system voice flashed through Chen Wen’s mind.

His expression brightened.

But soon, the Eyed Spotted Lizard lifted its head to look at Chen Wen: ”Deal made, but I won’t go with you. I really like it here, like the air, the rocks, the caves, even though I often go hungry here, I still want to stay.”

Chen Wen nodded slightly, cut the remaining intestines, and stepped back.

He respected the choices of the animals.

Since the Eyed Spotted Lizard didn’t want to leave with him, he let it stay.

Like the octopus did.

Chen Wen smiled: ”Then I wish you a successful hunt in the future, and don’t get so hungry that you forget about danger like you did today.”

The Eyed Spotted Lizard embarrassedly stuck out its tongue, finding an excuse for itself: ”I was planning to make a move on the group of red kangaroos; you guys just got to them first.”

Chen Wen nodded with a smile, waved at the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

Then he turned around and left, not looking back.

The Eyed Spotted Lizard watched Chen Wen’s figure, feeling a bit sentimental as it moved toward the food.

If it were younger, it might have gone.

But now it’s already old.

Rather than adventuring in the little time left, it preferred to die on this land where it had lived for years.

The Eyed Spotted Lizard devoured the kangaroo intestines heartily.

The remaining meat it no longer cared for.

Under the scorching sun, the Eyed Spotted Lizard also turned around and left here without looking back.

Smaller predators will naturally handle the leftover meat.

And the bones and fur will be decomposed by decomposers.

In less than a year, all traces here will completely disappear.

...

Walking back to camp, when people saw Chen Wen’s expression, they assumed he had tamed the Eyed Spotted Lizard.

But soon, Hua Yun keenly noticed that Chen Wen had returned alone.

”Did you succeed?”

She asked.

Chen Wen smiled and shook his head: ”I failed.”

”Then why are you so happy?”

Hua Yun was puzzled.

Chen Wen grinned: ”Well, how can I say, feeding animals actually feels quite delightful.”

Seeing Chen Wen’s incoherent words, Hua Yun knew he was again deflecting the conversation awkwardly.

She asked no more and just said, ”Pack up, we’re leaving.”

”Alright.”

Chen Wen nodded.

At this moment, the Whistling Kite approached Chen Wen; it had been watching him from the side.

”You’re a good person.”

The Whistling Kite commented.

Chen Wen grimaced: Please don’t give me a ’Nice Guy’ card!
