Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After the camel king freed itself from the mud, its speed gradually caught up.

After several days of long trekking.

Everyone arrived within the range of the King Leopold Ridge at the scheduled time.

Looking at the rolling mountains, Chen Wen knew it was time to part ways with the two camels.

”We’ve finally made it here!”

Dennis was filled with emotion.

He had imagined countless times how he would arrive here during the Desert Extreme Challenge, but he never thought he would come here with four people who weren’t from his country and two camels.

”The Kimberley Plateau, once we’re through here!”

Chen Wen was also full of excitement.

Stepping into the Kimberley Plateau meant entering the second half of this survival journey.

Chen Wen looked at the camel king and removed the remaining food from its back.

The camel king also looked at the high mountains, realizing this was not a place it could go.

”Do you remember the way back?”

Chen Wen’s voice brought the camel king back to reality, and both fell to the back of the group.

The camel king rubbed Chen Wen’s thigh: ”I remember.”

”I’ve hidden a lot of food along the way. Remember to eat it on your way back. Also, after you return, those humans wearing white short sleeves, yes, the ones with the kangaroo logo on their hats, they can be trusted. Just follow their instructions.”

Chen Wen instructed and added, ”Don’t eat the food by yourself, remember to share it with your wife.”

This female dromedary, tamed by Chen Wen, inevitably became part of the camel king’s harem.

The camel king chuckled: ”Hey, how could I be that kind of camel? You, however, should be careful from now on.”

A stiff attempt to change the topic.

Seems like it really has that kind of thought.

Chen Wen shook his head and said, ”This place isn’t dangerous for me, don’t worry.”

After some reminders, Chen Wen unloaded all the supplies from the two dromedaries.

When the others returned.

The remaining supplies were distributed, and the once abundant supplies were cleaned out by the group.

Gesturing OK to the drone overhead, Chen Wen patted the camel king’s body: ”Head back.”

The camel king shouted a farewell to Chen Wen.

The other camel also reluctantly took one last look at Chen Wen.

The two camels slowly left.

”From here on, we’ll have to rely on ourselves!”

Chen Wen shook his head, feeling the surrounding heat, and sighed.

...

After saying goodbye to the dromedaries, Chen Wen and the group officially set out towards the King Leopold Ridge.

Adam stepped down from the guide position, returning it to Dennis.

Dennis walked at the front of the group, introducing the mountain route: ”This route is a newly developed hiking trail in Kimberley, designed by one of our association’s vice presidents. I’ve followed him on this route before, and overall, it’s not too difficult.”

”There’s nothing particularly dangerous along the way, nor any treacherous terrain. The only thing to watch out for are two climbing points, but both have fixed iron ropes, so we can just climb the ropes when we reach them.”

Listening to Dennis’s introduction, Chen Wen also looked at the scenery on both sides.

They were advancing close to a cliff.

On the right was a cliff of red sandstone.

The vibrant red color gave Chen Wen a feeling of heat.

On the left was a winding canyon, with a raging river at its bottom.

The river water was muddy and turbid.

Clearly, this was the source of the flood—the Fitzroy River.

Chen Wen knew this place.

But that was in a past life.

In his past life, Chen Wen loved a show on the science channel, River Monsters.

The white-haired old man named Jeremy Ward had a stronger appeal to young Chen Wen than Pleasant Goat did.

And Chen Wen remembered Jeremy had come to this river named Fitzroy while searching for a sawfish.

But he went downstream, to the estuary.

The water there was wide, and large sea fish often swam into the river to forage.

Where Chen Wen was, it was the very upper reaches, almost the source of the Fitzroy River.

”After this show ends, I must go see the downstream.”

Looking at the murky river, Chen Wen couldn’t help but say.

Hua Yun looked at Chen Wen in confusion, not knowing why he suddenly said this.

But she understood.

After such a long period of survival, it’s very normal for the human brain to get a bit muddled.

Even Hua Yun sometimes did things she wasn’t aware of.

”Everyone, don’t lose focus at this time!”

Dennis, seeing the two in the back staring at the river, loudly reminded them: ”There are no protective measures here, falling would be certain death!”

The two quickly responded, refocusing, and followed the group.

Passing through the canyon, they soon reached the first climbing spot.

It was a relatively gentle cliff with an iron rope dangling down from above.

”Is there anyone here who can’t climb?”

Dennis asked.

Everyone shook their heads.

As top survivalists, climbing and parkour were already essential skills.

Of course, their skills might not be as refined as professional athletes.

But tackling this kind of rock wall was easy for them.

Dennis, as the guide, naturally was the first to go, checking the condition of the iron rope as he did so.

Soon, he grabbed the rusty iron rope and reached the top.

After patting the rust from his hands, Dennis shouted loudly: ”Everyone, it’s safe. Just follow the marks I left!”

Hearing this, everyone climbed up one after another.

In about ten minutes, everyone easily reached the top.

”Do you want to rest?”

Dennis asked.

”Let’s not rest, let’s go all the way to the highest point of the canyon!”

Adam said confidently.

But while looking up, Chen Wen said: ”I feel we better take a break.”

Dennis looked at Chen Wen.

Through extended interaction, he saw that Chen Wen had very keen eyes.

He asked: ”Is there a problem up there?”

”Yes.”

Chen Wen nodded seriously: ”There’s evidence of a landslide. I estimate some of your previous paths have been destroyed, and the landslide area also seems to be a climbing cliff.”

Hearing this, Dennis immediately looked up.

But he couldn’t see clearly.

After carefully recalling the nearest climbing spot, Dennis said a bit hesitantly: ”Could it be one of those two climbing spots I mentioned?”

”Murphy’s Law.”

Hua Yun said calmly from the side.

She was used to her bad luck by now.

Chen Wen felt the same.

This journey hadn’t shown his typical good fortune.

Rubbing the lucky charm hanging around his neck.

Since gaining this ability, Chen Wen had asked someone to buy a bunch of wren tail feathers from Europe.

Before every survival trip, he would make a lucky charm to boost his luck.

But this time it didn’t seem to work.

Maybe the bad luck of his teammates scattered it?

Shaking his head, he decided not to think too much.

Chen Wen said: ”So I think we should rest, just in case one of those two climbing spots you mentioned has issues. We need to conserve strength, or else we’ll have to camp overnight in the canyon.”

Hearing this, everyone stopped hesitating.

Finding a relatively clean spot, everyone sat down, unloaded their baggage, and took out food.

Resting while eating to replenish their strength.

Dennis handed a piece of jerky to Chen Wen and said with a smile: ”That red kangaroo’s meat, once made into jerky, seems we haven’t eaten it yet.”

Almost forgot there was that tidbit too.

Chen Wen happily accepted it.
