Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The taste of kangaroo jerky can be said to be quite awful.

The texture is just like most beef jerky, dry and tough, biting into it feels like chewing on a hard rock.

But it doesn’t have the same aroma as beef jerky.

When you eat beef jerky, the strong spices and meat flavor make the effort worth it.

However, kangaroo jerky is all about the gamey taste after you take a bite.

Eating kangaroo jerky for Chen Wen is like watching a terribly made pure love anime, hoping to endure to the end for a sweet payoff, only to discover it ends in ntr.

”It’s so bad!”

”It’s harder than my grandfather’s winter socks, and tastes just about the same!”

”Now I know why kangaroos are so rampant!”

”Haha, I figured it out a long time ago since my father would always skin and toss them whenever he hunted kangaroos as a child.”

While everyone complained about the kangaroo jerky, they still frowned and ate it.

After all, it’s their last meat reserve.

After painfully swallowing a piece of kangaroo meat, Chen Wen closed his eyes to check the entries.

The entries provided by the kangaroo were quite good.

[Leap (Gold): You can now jump forward, reducing body damage from jumping, enhancing jumping ability, and you can jump again without much rest in between, with the jumping distance depending on body strength.]

[Note: I suggest hopping! — Red Kangaroo]

This entry is certainly helpful for Chen Wen.

Although it doesn’t let him leap eight or nine meters like a kangaroo, he should be able to jump close to three meters with his body strength.

In situations unsuitable for running, hopping can be very useful.

Furthermore, back home, he could wear a Qing dynasty official’s outfit at midnight and cosplay as a zombie in the park.

Maybe he could scare late-night couples looking for thrills in the park.

Hmm, quite useful.

Bachelor Chen Wen gave it a thumbs up.

After choosing the entry, Chen Wen closed his eyes and rested for a while.

But within ten minutes, Dennis urged everyone to move on.

He’s eager to know where the landslide occurred,

in case it’s at the designated climbing point...

Although Dennis didn’t have many solutions, he still wanted to know quickly.

Everyone strapped on their supplies and set off again.

Soon, under Dennis’s desperate gaze, everyone arrived at an extremely steep cliff.

Apart from being steep, there had been a lot of collapses on this section of the cliff.

Rocks that were originally deep within the mountain were now exposed to the air.

”Just as expected!”

Hua Yun couldn’t help but exclaim.

She could even see a remnants of an iron chain, dangling loosely.

However, to reach this iron chain, one would need to climb halfway up the cliff.

”What to do?”

Dennis asked in frustration, ”Although I can climb, this difficulty level...”

As he said that, he scratched the cliff with his hand.

Due to the landslide, the rocks on the cliff appeared particularly loose.

Without much effort, the stones crumbled away like crispy cookies.

He scratched several times before exposing the hard inner rock.

Meanwhile, Adam reached out and clawed at a protruding rock, which immediately came off.

”The rocks here are loose, the cliff face is very unstable, there’s no telling where it might collapse.”

Adam shook his head: ”Find another route, this path is no longer passable.”

The strongest flood in Kimberley Region’s history has severely hindered their progress.

”If we take another route, it might take an extra day or so.”

Dennis frowned: ”Plus, we’ll have to spend tonight in the valley and only be able to proceed tomorrow.”

In designing this route, the association had confirmed three paths, two main routes and one backup.

Now that the main route is unusable, they can still take a detour.

”A day is acceptable.”

Hua Yun said, turning to Chen Wen: ”What do you think?”

Hearing someone call him, Chen Wen came back to his senses.

He withdrew his gaze and said: ”Actually, I have a bold idea.”

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Chen Wen.

Chen Wen continued: ”Look, the iron chain above is still there, indicating that the most severely affected area by the landslide is below. The rocks above should theoretically still be stable.”

”So as long as we can find a way to climb the section below, we can still give it a try.”

Upon hearing this, the others exchanged glances.

Hua Yun posed a question: ”But who can do this? None of us here have much experience.”

Climbing a completely unknown cliff where a landslide recently occurred.

Even a professional rock climber can’t guarantee they can make it up 100%.

Chen Wen glanced at his entries.

Earlier, he gained an entry [Climbing] from the brown tree snake.

This entry enhanced his climbing abilities.

On top of that, Chen Wen had previously undergone specialized rock climbing training, personally taught by the top elites in China.

Therefore, Chen Wen decided to give it a shot.

”I’ll do it!”

Chen Wen said, taking off his backpack.

Hua Yun looked at Chen Wen, utterly incredulous.

Her impression of Chen Wen’s climbing skills was still stuck in the Yukon survival days.

Back then, Chen Wen could be called a total rookie.

But how long has it been since then?

A year? Two years?

Could the rookie have turned into a pro?

She hadn’t heard of Chen Wen undergoing systematic climbing training in the meantime.

”Don’t joke, climbing isn’t something that relies purely on physical strength; it requires a lot of technique.”

Hua Yun reminded Chen Wen.

Chen Wen grinned: ”Don’t worry, I’ve learned rock climbing before, and when have you seen me joke with my life?”

It would’ve been better if he hadn’t said anything, because now Hua Yun was even more worried.

In this Desert Extreme Challenge, Chen Wen was pretty stable in the first half.

But during previous survival, Chen Wen became known for risky antics!

Could it be a relapse of his old habits?

But before Hua Yun could say more, Chen Wen asked her to get the rope.

This time, they brought some ropes; after eliminating the Japan team, they also acquired a bunch from them.

They now had two lengths of rope, and Chen Wen planned to make good use of them.

He directly said: ”Here’s the plan: I’ll tie one piece of rope around my waist, and you all can hold it as insurance, while I’ll take the other piece up and throw it down to help you climb.”

Seeing that they were still doubtful, Chen Wen helplessly reassured them: ”You’ll never know until we try. When have I ever lied to you?”

This convinced Dennis.

He had a feeling Chen Wen genuinely had a plan!

So, Dennis wrapped the rope several times around Chen Wen’s waist, knotting it.

He then threaded the rope through Chen Wen’s legs, securing it as snugly as underwear.

When finished, Dennis even tied a slipknot to Chen Wen’s shoulder.

It was as if Chen Wen had been bound like a crab.

”Now I’m at ease!”

Looking at his handiwork, Dennis was very satisfied.
