Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Just as Chen Wen noticed Dennis’ hair standing unusually, he was about to warn the others.

Hua Yun also looked at Chen Wen with a face of terror.

Chen Wen reached out to touch and found that his long-untrimmed hair had also flared up.

”Not good!”

Dennis scanned the circle and realized the crisis as everyone’s hair was standing up!

A crisis that could kill them all!

Dennis frantically removed all the metal items and supplies from his body.

And quickly threw them far away.

After seeing Dennis’ actions, the others immediately mimicked his behavior.

After throwing away the metals, Dennis frantically gestured for everyone to cover their heads and ears.

At the same time, Dennis signaled everyone to look at his feet.

They saw Dennis join his feet, left foot on the ground, moving forward.

His steps were very small, and both feet were almost always touching.

This was a penguin-like gait.

Seeing Dennis’ movement, although the others didn’t understand the principle, they all followed suit.

Soon, everyone copied Dennis’ steps, moving in the distance behind him.

After about twenty seconds, Dennis waved for everyone to stop.

He immediately crouched, holding his head and covering his ears, his body curled up, and tiptoed.

The others still followed.

Less than ten seconds after crouching down.

Suddenly.

A flash of bright light descended from the sky with a loud noise, striking a small tree about twenty meters behind them.

Chen Wen turned his head with courage and saw that the small tree had broken, its trunk turned scarlet, then swiftly changed to pitch black.

The power of thunder, terrifying to the extreme!

While Chen Wen was alarmed, he remembered all the actions Dennis made earlier.

The lightning passed quickly.

By the time everyone came back to their senses, their hair had gradually returned to normal.

”Grab the supplies, let’s go!”

Dennis said succinctly, quickly heading to where he had thrown the supplies.

With the supplies on his back, he ran towards the forest they had identified earlier.

Chen Wen moved almost as soon as Dennis spoke.

He even surpassed Dennis after picking up the supplies and got to the woods.

Seeing Chen Wen arrive first, Dennis’ mouth twitched, and he shouted a reminder: ”Throw the metal supplies far away, don’t get near the tallest tree in this woods!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen immediately complied.

Meanwhile, the Whistling Kite and the Taipan Snake just poked their heads out of their backpacks, both looked a bit frightened at the place just struck by lightning.

”Too scary!”

The Whistling Kite couldn’t help but say.

As a bird, it had once seen lightning from afar, but it didn’t know the destructiveness was so great!

The Taipan Snake had never heard of thunder before, it couldn’t help but say: ”The outside world is spectacular, but very dangerous too!”

Listening to the whispers of the two animals, Chen Wen told them while throwing the supplies away: ”This was just an accidental encounter, the outside world isn’t just dangerous, don’t worry.”

After speaking, Chen Wen took the two animals and hid at a relatively outer position in the forest, far from the big tree.

Soon, the others also arrived one after another.

Dennis looked at Chen Wen with admiration and said: ”Not bad, this spot is pretty good, surrounded by trees but not tall ones, it’s a low area and far from the tallest tree, very good!”

”Hey, just lucky.”

Chen Wen said, then turned to ask about the reason for Dennis’ actions earlier.

Seeing they were out of danger, Dennis explained: ”I had you walk with your legs together to avoid step voltage.”

Everyone nodded, understanding this concept.

Even Chen Wen, who hadn’t specially studied thunder and lightning, knew about this.

After all, with the internet’s development, many educational videos have well-explained step voltage.

Seeing everyone knew this point, Dennis offered some real teachings from the association: ”When your hair stands or your skin tingles in outdoor thunderstorms, it’s a sign of static discharge.”

”This indicates the surrounding electric field intensity has exceeded 3kV/m, which is roughly the threshold value for lightning, and a strike might happen anytime!”

”So that’s why I had everyone walk with legs together, to minimize the effects of step voltage, and not talk to reduce the risk of breath ionization.”

”Crouching reduces ground contact area, and covering ears helps prevent blast injuries.”

Seeing Dennis explain so clearly, Chen Wen couldn’t help but laugh, then patted Dennis’ shoulder: ”Not bad, got a lecturer’s style now!”

Adam, beside them, also squinted his eyes and laughed, looking at Dennis.

Dennis chuckled, finally holding his chest up proudly.

By this time, the storm outside was intensifying.

Chen Wen looked up, the storm’s frequency was very high, with lightning almost every second illuminating the ground.

And the lightning was approaching the earth.

Along with the rumbling thunder, numerous lightning bolts, like the heavens wielding a whip, fiercely struck the ground.

”So terrifying!”

Chen Wen took a deep breath, unable to hold back his words.

Hua Yun was also full of admiration: ”This may be nature’s most violent side!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen strongly agreed.

In the high sky, clouds continuously moved northwest, and the thunder grew fainter.

”Phew! We got through it!”

As a lightning bolt flashed far away, Fred finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But before he could relax, Chen Wen said: ”Folks, though the storm has passed, our troubles are just beginning!”

As he spoke, Chen Wen pointed to the gloomy sky: ”It’s going to rain soon, and we must build a suitable shelter before the downpour, or with such heavy rain, hypothermia, colds, fever are waiting for us!”

Upon hearing this, Fred’s heart, which he had just relaxed, was once again tense.

As Chen Wen said, once exposed to the rain, the water constantly drenching the body would steal their heat, causing hypothermia.

Even if they withstand hypothermia, the chances of a cold and fever would skyrocket.

Thus, before the rain comes, the group must build a suitable shelter.

”Here’s the plan.”

Seeing everyone a bit lost on what to do, Chen Wen decisively took over command: ”Here’s the plan, everyone listen to my instructions, our most important task is to build a shelter. I just looked around, and this forest is very suitable for building a shelter.”

”Remember, don’t build the shelter on the ground, try to use the tree branches to make a suitable platform on the forked parts of trees, and then adapt to the conditions, use nearby branches, and secure them with ropes above the platform to form a simple shelter. Besides that, while building, try to collect as many dry branches as possible, after the rain the temperature will drop a lot, and having fire then will give us the confidence, understood?”

Chen Wen spoke a lot, almost offering a nanny-level tutorial.

At this time, Adam, a bit puzzled, asked: ”Why make the shelter in the air? Isn’t under the tree fine as well?”

Chen Wen grinned: ”If you want to enjoy an exciting nighttime drift, then go ahead and build under the tree.”

Hearing this, Adam understood.

The others said no more and began following Chen Wen’s plan.
