Wilderness Survival with Druid System

With the idea of letting the emu father mature.

Chen Wen followed the animal path through the forest.

As expected, the young emu father seemed unable to stand the hot weather and chose to cool off in the stream.

Chen Wen grinned and was about to take out his long spear to hunt.

When he suddenly caught sight of a figure on the opposite bank.

Chen Wen’s heart tightened. He took a closer look and then relaxed.

It was Hua Yun on the opposite side.

The two exchanged a glance. Although they didn’t speak, they reached an understanding through each other’s eyes.

Hua Yun raised her bow and arrow slightly, the meaning was simple—Leave it to me!

Chen Wen nodded, then raised his long spear, meaning—If you can’t handle it, I’ll finish it off!

Hua Yun bared her teeth, striking a fierce pose, meaning even simpler—I can do it much better than you! Just sit tight and watch!

Chen Wen chuckled inwardly, no longer teasing Hua Yun.

After a brief exchange.

Hua Yun decisively drew her bow and arrow.

She focused with all her might, planning to astonish Chen Wen.

Bow and arrow in hand.

Hua Yun’s demeanor changed in an instant.

Previously unassuming, she now exuded a sharp aura.

Adjusting her breath, Hua Yun moved to a gap in the bushes.

From here, she could aim at the emu, making it hard for the emu to notice her.

She took a deep breath and slowly drew her bow, nocking an arrow.

This time she was ready to fire in rapid succession.

Holding one bow and arrow, her other fingers clutched a total of two arrows.

Triple shot!

This was Hua Yun’s specialty.

On the opposite bank, Chen Wen slowly raised his long spear, his aura contained.

He used the entry ”Gua Fragrance” to completely hide his presence.

If Hua Yun missed, the emu would surely flee in this direction.

And what awaited it would be a fully-charged Chen Wen.

Sky net plus earth trap, this emu was doomed!

Soon, Hua Yun completed her aim.

She took a slight breath, then slowly exhaled; her bangs swayed gently with the breath.

Whoosh!

The bangs paused briefly, and the arrow flew out.

Thud!

Hit!

The arrow pierced the emu’s side, driving deep into its chest.

The emu was startled by the sudden attack.

It stood up awkwardly, just about to step forward when the second arrow arrived!

Consecutive shot!

The second arrow aimed at the emu’s turned chest, skillfully going around its long neck and hitting its chest.

Hit again!

The emu, heavily injured, showed signs of sluggish movements.

And the third arrow awaited it!

Whoosh!

Triple shot!

This arrow was purely for show.

Hua Yun aimed at the emu’s head, the arrow accurately striking the swaying head, the powerful force tilting its head to the side.

The emu’s head never returned to position.

It swayed and fell straight into the stream.

Hua Yun stood up excitedly, clenching her fist: Bullseye!

Chen Wen also stood up, somewhat surprised.

He knew Hua Yun’s archery skills were impressive.

But he didn’t expect them to be this impressive!

With quick steps, Chen Wen approached the fallen emu and dragged its heavy body to the shore.

By then, Hua Yun was also moving her arms and walking over.

”How was that?”

Hua Yun looked at Chen Wen with a cheerful gaze, ready for compliments.

Chen Wen gave a thumbs up: ”Amazing, three perfect shots!”

But before Hua Yun could respond proudly, Chen Wen added: ”But if it were me, one spear would be enough!”

Hearing this, Hua Yun glanced at the long spear Chen Wen was holding.

With its thick build, the emu would indeed fall with just one spear.

She retorted a bit grudgingly: ”Simple and crude! A long spear is a typical weapon for the simple-minded and physically strong! How can it compare to a bow and arrow?”

Chen Wen laughed heartily and said: ”You should say that to Mr. Liu, see how he responds.”

Once again, Hua Yun was at a loss for words with Chen Wen.

She had a lot of respect for Liu Yu.

”Alright, alright, I can’t argue with you. Hand over the arrows, and let’s deal with the emu right here!”

Hua Yun changed the topic and retrieved her arrows.

Chen Wen didn’t say much more, but cheerfully carried the emu away, planning to take it back.

Noticing Hua Yun’s curious gaze, Chen Wen explained: ”This job is more suited for Dennis, I really don’t want to do it, it’s much better to relax! And Dennis surely wants to do it too!”

Upon hearing this, Hua Yun shook her head: ”Lazy, forget it, I’ll help you.”

Saying this, she reached out her hand, and together with Chen Wen, they carried the emu back to their resting camp.

After returning, Chen Wen immediately gathered Dennis and the others.

Seeing an emu and exactly five emu eggs, Dennis couldn’t stop grinning.

He quickly took out his hunting knife.

Volunteered to handle the emu processing.

Chen Wen winked at Hua Yun, meaning ”See, I told you, right?”

Hua Yun was speechless, thinking how childish he was.

Never mind, let him be, I’ll take a break too!

If Dennis is willing to work, why should I interfere?

...

Watching Chen Wen and Hua Yun successfully tackle both bird and eggs.

In Hua Country.

Liu Yu sighed: ”The future looks promising!”

”Chen Wen, better than his predecessors, and Hua Yun, also outstanding although slightly less superior, with them around, we old folks can retire in peace.”

Beside him, Zhao quipped: ”Who’s old? I’m not old yet!”

Liu Yu shook his head helplessly, this guy was almost the same age as him, and he still said he’s not old.

But as if remembering something, Liu Yu asked: ”Speaking of which, for this Sea Extreme Challenge, shouldn’t you wait for Chen Wen to return before going together? I feel like your chances might be better with him.”

Zhao shook his head: ”Never mind, he just got back, let him rest, and we’ve already got a good synergy with our current team, changing members might not be as effective.”

”Alright then.”

Liu Yu nodded, reminiscing about his own Sea Extreme challenge.

Of course, the memory wasn’t very pleasant.

...

Other associations, witnessing Hua Yun’s outstanding archery, couldn’t help but shake their heads.

This Hua Country team is extraordinary!

Chen Wen alone is impressive enough, and now they’ve got a female sharpshooter.

How can others survive?

If these two keep teaming up, what chance do others have?

And there’s no sign of any conflict between these two; they’re definitely planning to keep working together.

Quite a predicament!

...

Let professionals handle professional tasks.

Soon, Dennis had processed the entire emu and also prepared the emu eggs.

He called out for Fred and Adam to gather firewood and start the campfire.

Then Dennis used the soil around the campfire to support the emu eggs.

He cracked the top of the emu egg shells, removed the shells, and mixed the emu eggs with a clean stick, sprinkling some salt.

”Roasted emu eggs, ready to eat in a while!”

Dennissaid, licking his lips uncontrollably.

After that, he cut the emu meat into chunks and put them into a large pot for stewing.

Following Chen Wen’s suggestion, he put the emu meat in a pot with cold water to draw out the blood, then skimmed off the foam.

Only then did he add baobab fruit for the actual stew.

The blood took away much of the emu’s gamey taste, significantly improving the soup’s flavor.

The tangy and sweet baobab fruit infused the soup with its taste as well.

As Dennis lifted the lid once more, everyone smelled the pleasant aroma of soup.

”I have a feeling this soup is going to be delicious!”

Dennis confidently declared.
