Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Hearing Jens’ words, Chen Wen and the others felt a bit incredulous.

Four men who looked around fifty or sixty, carrying heavy photographic equipment, filming a documentary in the wilderness for three years?

”You’re not joking, right?”

Dennis couldn’t help but ask.

”Of course not!”

Bothered by the skepticism, Jens was a bit dejected.

To prove himself, he directly took out a phone and showed the saved videos to the group.

Chen Wen and the others leaned in to watch, and soon they completely believed Jens.

In the video, Jens was holding a camera aimed at a lizard with earth-yellow skin and markings similar to a copper coin.

Seeing this lizard, Chen Wen’s expression immediately changed: ”Kimberley Rock Monitor!”

He accurately named the lizard species.

This prompted Jens to look over in surprise: ”That’s right, it’s the Kimberley Rock Monitor.”

Chen Wen couldn’t help asking, ”This lizard can only be found on the Kimberley Plateau. Did you come from the Kimberley Plateau?”

Jens nodded: ”Correct, we completed filming on the Kimberley Plateau last month, and now we intend to finish the last scenes in the Great Sand Desert.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen and the others believed Jens’ identity.

After all, from the video footage, they were certain the other party was professional.

After Jens introduced himself, he looked at the Shrike with interest: ”Did you bring this Shrike into the desert? It’s incredible. You don’t tie it with a rope, yet it doesn’t fly away. And these camels, did you bring them too?”

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Chen Wen.

The implication was simple: whoever’s into beast taming should handle the explanation.

Chen Wen thought for a while and figured it wouldn’t hurt to explain.

So he said, ”These are wild animals I tamed in the desert.”

Hearing this, Jens was clearly momentarily stunned.

He carefully studied the Shrike and the camels, then shook his head: ”Don’t joke. How long have you been in the desert? This Shrike doesn’t need a rope and stays with you, not even afraid of humans. How could it have been tamed in this desert?”

On hearing this, everyone showed an expression of realization.

Dennis, on the side, said: ”Don’t say you don’t believe it, even we wouldn’t have if we hadn’t seen it ourselves.”

Seeing that everyone wasn’t joking, Jens frowned and approached the Shrike again.

However, the Shrike still had a sense of vigilance towards humans.

It let out a cry, seemingly trying to drive Jens away.

Jens quickly stopped, and just then, the head of an inland Taipan Snake slowly emerged from the camel’s stomach sac.

Seeing the inland Taipan Snake, Jens felt goosebumps rise all over his body in an instant.

He looked at the inland Taipan Snake in horror, loudly warning everyone: ”Snake! Venomous snake! Inland Taipan Snake!”

As he spoke, Jens quickly retreated a full ten meters away.

The inland Taipan Snake looked at Jens with some confusion.

It didn’t understand why Jens retreated so much just because it poked its head out.

These days, with Chen Wen’s help, as well as the sincere closeness and respect from Hua Yun and the others.

The inland Taipan Snake had already adapted to being near humans, and its nature was no longer as shy and timid as before.

Thus, the inland Taipan Snake curiously crawled out of the stomach sac, coiled beside the Shrike, and assessed Jens.

”Don’t be afraid; this inland Taipan Snake is also obedient. It won’t actively attack humans.”

Chen Wen said as he walked to the inland Taipan Snake, extending his arm.

The Taipan Snake happily climbed along Chen Wen’s arm, its cool body wrapping around Chen Wen’s neck, with its tiny snake head resting atop Chen Wen’s head.

Seeing this scene, Jens was completely stupefied.

As a zoology Ph.D. and a passionate photography enthusiast.

He had never witnessed such an inconceivable scene.

Why would an inland Taipan Snake, which typically avoided humans, display such a close bond with humans?

Moreover, the Shrike also seemed to have a good rapport with the Taipan Snake.

Seeing the Taipan Snake emerge, it even voluntarily moved closer to it.

What on earth is this?

Why would the Shrike and Taipan Snake be so close?

And why did the camel carrying the Shrike grin, showing an expression akin to a human smile?

Animal science doesn’t exist anymore!

Jens was dumbfounded, completely bewildered.

Seeing his buddy’s expression, Rolf on the side couldn’t help but ask: ”These... are all the animals you tamed?”

”To be precise, apart from these camels, all other animals are Chen Wen’s domesticated creatures.”

Dennis said.

At this time, Jens had no other thoughts.

He looked at Chen Wen, a strong curiosity flashing in his eyes.

What kind of person could tame such venomous creatures as the inland Taipan Snake?

And could tame so many wild animals without even using ropes?

”Can you tell me your secret?”

Jens asked, ”The secret to taming animals.”

Chen Wen gave a slightly awkward yet polite smile, decisively refusing Jens.

Seeing this, Jens sought a compromise: ”Then could I film your animals? On this trip, we’ve filmed numerous animals, but we’ve never encountered an inland Taipan Snake. Of course, this isn’t for free. Anything you need, we can fulfill!”

Hearing this, everyone’s eyes lit up.

Anything?

They looked at Chen Wen, who hesitated a moment, intending to consult the Taipan Snake’s opinion.

If the Taipan Snake was willing, they could give it a try.

When the Taipan Snake heard this, it didn’t show any resistance.

On the contrary, it was curious about the massive camera in Jens’ hands.

The reason was simple; it felt like the contraption seemed quite cozy.

Seeing the Taipan Snake didn’t object, Chen Wen also agreed to Jens’ request.

In exchange, after discussing among themselves, Chen Wen and his team opted not to trade for more canned goods.

Instead, they asked Jens for video materials about the Kimberley Plateau.

After more than two months of survival, they had nearly forgotten about the Kimberley Plateau.

Even Chen Wen had forgotten many animal details he originally remembered clearly.

Thus, the group quickly came to an agreement.

Jens used materials related to the Kimberley Plateau, along with numerous canned fruits, to secure the opportunity to film the Shrike and Taipan Snake from Chen Wen and his team.

Both parties were pleased with this deal.

In fact, all three parties were pleased.

To ensure the animals cooperated with the filming, Jens prepared plenty of tasty food.

The Shrike and Taipan Snake merely needed to daze before the dark camera or pose in various ways to amass all the food.

Both animals delighted in this activity.

Soon, the day’s filming came to an end.

Chen Wen and his team also reviewed the Kimberley Plateau materials.

As they parted.

Jens handed his business card to Chen Wen, stating that whenever he wished to film a documentary or anything, he could contact him.

Chen Wen politely accepted the business card but didn’t think much of it.

After resting for a day.

The following morning, without disturbing anyone, they packed up their supplies and departed from the fourth oasis.

With less than five days left, they could exit the desert and reach the first gathering point.

Here, they would have their identities confirmed and registered, allowing them to start the Kimberley Plateau route.

The final stretch through the desert was exceedingly smooth, encountering hardly any danger.

With solid assistance from the camels,

they reached the first gathering point on the fourth day, becoming the first team to arrive in this Desert Extreme Challenge.

And the team hadn’t lost a single member!

Upon seeing the five arrive, the staff immediately looked at them with eyes full of admiration.

This team, they’re truly incredible!
