Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 587: Chapter 75: Before the Battle

Two days later, in a ward in the Hidden Rain Village.

A red-haired man was lying on the hospital bed, with a circle of black metal studs around the edges of his ears, giving off a unique aura.

Nagato slowly opened his eyes, the piercing light made him instinctively close them.

”I’m... not dead?”

Nagato struggled to lift his arm, the two rows of black metal nails came into view, and seemingly recalling something, his eyes widened a bit.

He was lying flat! It had been more than ten years since he last experienced lying flat on a bed; for the past decades, he’d slept standing, like a horse.

”It seems the surgery was successful, the organism in the chest is gone, the organs are revitalized, the spine... has returned to normal, and the signal receiver is perfectly embedded; had the melee fighter considered this long ago?”

Although Nagato’s facial emotions didn’t fluctuate much, imagine the feeling of a nearly paralyzed patient suddenly regaining health and being able to walk freely after years.

That’s Nagato’s current mood, but the experiences of his youth destined him never to feel overwhelming joy.

The door to the ward opened, and Konan entered, holding a glass bottle filled with the nutrient solution prepared by Su Xiao, which she administered to Nagato five times a day.

”Nagato, you’re awake.”

Konan quickly walked to the bedside, and although a smile appeared on her face, there was no extreme emotional outburst.

Konan’s personality was similar to Nagato’s, neither would show expressions of laughter.

”Mm, help me up.”

Nagato gritted his teeth and sat up; no matter how successful the surgery was, recuperation was necessary, and rising now was challenging for him.

”You’ve just had surgery two days ago, it’s best not to...”

Nagato waved his hand, and Konan had no choice but to help him up.

As he attempted to walk forward, he took two steps, his legs weakened, and he vomited a mouthful of blood with a ’wow’.

This startled Konan, who supported Nagato back to the bed before quickly rushing out of the room, heading towards Su Xiao’s room urgently.

Meanwhile, Su Xiao was engaged in a ’major task’, dismantling a tablet placed in front of him piece by piece.

The progress in the puzzle game had ’perished’, and if it weren’t for Obito pulling him back, Su Xiao might’ve slaughtered Er Zhuzi; the progress he’d fought tooth and nail to achieve!

Su Xiao wasn’t very proficient with electronics; dismantling a tablet was not too difficult, but reassembling it was extremely challenging, leaving him utterly clueless.

Bubu Wang cast a glance at Su Xiao, as if it was saying: ’Master, if you can reassemble it, I’ll do a handstand while gnawing on a bone.’

Su Xiao wasn’t interested in Bubu Wang doing handstands, nor could he put the tablet back together.

”Maybe a Contractor in Reincarnation Paradise has a way, ah~”

Putting the ’corpse’ of the tablet into the storage space, Su Xiao’s repair plans were declared a failure; he’s not omnipotent, mastering some things while lacking in others, no one can be perfect.

Bang.

The door was flung open brusquely as Konan rushed in, her demeanor so out of character that Su Xiao furrowed his brows. ℴℴ𝘮

”Nagato is awake?”

”Yes, and he’s vomited blood.”

”Vomited blood?”

Su Xiao stood up and headed with Konan towards Nagato’s ward.

A few minutes later, Su Xiao was standing at Nagato’s bedside. Learning of the backstory, he was somewhat speechless.

”Vomiting blood is normal, I’m honestly surprised you didn’t kick the bucket right away.”

Konan’s expression wasn’t pleasant; Su Xiao’s words weren’t exactly considerate.

”Such a major surgery isn’t something you can recover from in two days. Being able to get up at all is already pretty good. First, restore the basic functions of the body. Once the body’s mechanisms are stable, recovery will increasingly speed up over the next few days.”

Su Xiao placed his finger on Nagato’s chest, sensing the internal condition.

”Not a big problem, but recovery can only be achieved through gradual rest.”

”Much appreciated.”

”Just remember the previous promise and it’ll be fine.”

”Mm, once I’ve recovered, I’ll attack Konoha right away. Will you be going as well?”

”Of course.”

If following the original course of events, joining the attack on Konoha would’ve been difficult for Su Xiao, but now it’s part of the deal, and Nagato won’t refuse.

After saving Nagato’s life, relations between the two improved somewhat over the Tailed Beast incident; the choice had proven right.

Joining Obito’s faction might yield temporary benefits, but the mainline mission’s completion relied on Nagato; Nagato is more straightforward — Obito is too much of a poser.

Having just left Nagato’s room, with nothing to do, Su Xiao remembered he still had some Akatsuki Contribution Points unused.

Akatsuki Contribution Points: 1720 Points.

Differing vastly from his expectations, it seemed unlikely he could exchange the 3000-point ”Space Rune” without a hitch.

As the final battle approach loomed, once Konoha is destroyed, Su Xiao planned to leave the Naruto World immediately, at which point no amount of Akatsuki Contribution Points would matter.

Thinking for a moment, Su Xiao found Konan outside Nagato’s ward.

”Konan, I’d like something from within the organization as a reward for my longstanding contributions.”

”What do you want?”

”The Space Rune.”

”Alright.”

Konan agreed straightforwardly, without any hesitation.

Not long after, Konan brought a scroll, only as long as a finger, with a pale golden light flowing across its surface.

Su Xiao’s 1720 Akatsuki Contribution Points vanished, allowing him to purchase the originally 3000-point Space Rune for only 1720 points, a benefit from saving Nagato.

Getting the ”Space Rune” without spending contribution points was impossible; had other Akatsuki members known, there would’ve been objections.

”Space Rune”

Origin: Naruto: The Uzumaki Clan.

Quality: Light Gold

Type: Inscription-type Mystery Mark.

Effect: Can be branded onto equipment or parts of the body, gaining Basic Spatial Imprisonment.

Basic Spatial Imprisonment: Can block spatial fluctuations within a fifty-meter radius. Space-type skills below fifth tier within this area are nullified, effect lasting 30 minutes, with a cooldown of 2 natural days.

Rating: 285 (Note: Light Gold items range from 260 to 310 in rating; higher-rated items are more valuable.)

Introduction: A Mystery Mark originating from the Uzumaki Clan, with a certain chance of failure; the consequences of failure are severe, proceed with caution.

Price: 3000 Faction Contribution Points.

...

The ’Space Rune’ belonged to scroll-type items, usable immediately; Su Xiao hesitated about where to brand it.

First, eliminate any part of the body, as Blue Steel Shadow Energy might annihilate it.

This left only equipment, though which specific piece to inscribe it onto left Su Xiao momentarily undecided.

Dragon Slash was out of the question, the brand carried a chance of failure, and damage to Dragon Slash would be a major loss.

The equipment Su Xiao currently wore included:

Weapon: Dragon Slash +10 (Dark Purple)

Scabbard: Divine Spirit Afterglow (Dark Purple)

Auxiliary Weapon: Spider Queen (Purple Sniper Rifle), Black and White Guns (Purple Dual Pistols)

Necklace: Mikasa’s Mind +5 (Blue)

Ring: Mithril Holy Ring (Purple)

Hands: Minotaur Lord’s Arm Armor + Boundary Line (Purple)

Top: Lan Kai Windcoat (Dark Purple)

Footwear: Tactical Boots (Purple)

Accessory: Fate Redemption +7 (Blue)

Detection: Eye of the Apostle (Light Gold)

...

Su Xiao suddenly realized he had unknowingly become quite wealthy, with excellent attributes in all this equipment.

After careful consideration, he decided to brand the ”Space Rune” onto the Lan Kai Windcoat (Dark Purple).

The reason was simple: the Lan Kai Windcoat’s Night Storm (Passive), Penetration Defense (Passive), and Healing (Passive) were all excellent abilities, allowing him to wear it for a long time, plus even if damaged, it wouldn’t be a devastating loss.

Opening the Space Rune scroll, a light golden mark floated in mid-air.

[Would you like to inscribe the ’Space Rune’ onto the ’Lan Kai Windcoat’?]

Choosing yes, the light golden mark hovering in the air dispersed, eventually etching a golden stripe at the sleeve of the Lan Kai Windcoat.

The Space Rune couldn’t be borne by ordinary items; if the item’s strength was insufficient, it would shatter at the moment of branding.

Donning the Lan Kai Windcoat, the effect of the Space Rune could not be tested for the time being.

Afterwards, only waiting remained for Nagato’s body to recover; Su Xiao occasionally strolled leisurely around the Hidden Rain Village, though most of his time was spent practicing swordsmanship and developing new techniques.

...

Five days later, in Nagato’s ward.

”I’m preparing to head to Konoha in two days, starting preparations for the attack from today.”

Nagato sat on the hospital bed; though still thin, he was no longer skeletal, and his complexion appeared normal.

”I’ve been waiting a long time for you to say that.”

Su Xiao gripped the handle of Dragon Slash; although his gains in the Naruto World were considerable, it was not a place for prolonged stays.

The worlds of the early and late parts of Naruto were practically different worlds, with the latter filled with numerous Super Shadows, and exploding combat prowess.
