Chapter 560: Chapter 48: Turning Face Faster Than Flipping a Book

”I wonder why Master Bai Ye is here...”

Su Xiao raised his hand to interrupt Dou.

”Put away that disgusting fake smile when you talk to me, or I’ll kill you.”

Zzz～

The sound of metal wires retracting was heard as Su Xiao stood up and drew his sword.

The Dragon Slash slowly emerged, its gleaming blade exceptionally eye-catching in the night.

Cold sweat seeped from Dou’s forehead as he realized Su Xiao wasn’t joking; he was indeed ready to kill him.

”Sorry, Master Bai Ye, Lord Orochimaru is just...”

Clang!

A two-meter-wide blade aura slashed out with incredible speed, cutting toward Dou almost instantly.

”Hidden Shadow Snake Hand.”

Countless snakes surged from the nearby forest, blocking in front of Dou. The Blade Aura sliced through a mass of venomous snakes, finally glancing past Dou and slashing a giant boulder in half.

Rumble.

The boulder hit the ground, and sweat dripped from Dou’s forehead.

At this stage, Dou wasn’t particularly strong, not even a match for Kakashi. It was only later, after obtaining Orochimaru’s blood and the power of the Snake Immortal, that Dou truly became powerful.

”Mr. Bai Ye, are you planning to kill my subordinate in front of me?”

A man with a pale face and black hair draping over his shoulders emerged from the forest; one of the Three Ninja, Orochimaru, had arrived.

However, it was useless. If Su Xiao exerted his full strength, even if he couldn’t kill Orochimaru, he could render him incapacitated.

Orochimaru had his hands’ souls sealed by the Third Hokage and couldn’t use most ninjutsu, relying only on the Soft Physique Jays and Summoning Technique to fight. Several ninjutsu requiring seals were unusable.

Using the Soft Physique Jays to fight meant getting close to Su Xiao, and though Orochimaru’s survival ability was strong, the outcome of getting close to Su Xiao was typically unfavorable, as was the case with Jiraiya, Gaara, and Kakashi.

If Su Xiao were to single out Jiraiya, even with an energy shield, he would lose. However, if he were to fight Orochimaru now, his win rate would be high.

After hesitating for a moment, Su Xiao felt that since he couldn’t kill Orochimaru, fighting had no purpose. He sheathed the Dragon Slash.

Taking a bite of an apple, Su Xiao crunched and chewed.

”Got business?”

Su Xiao’s swift change of demeanor was more surprising to Orochimaru than flipping a book; after a moment of stunned silence, a smile appeared on Orochimaru’s face.

”I heard Mister Bai Ye acquired a Sharingan; I’m very interested in that Sharingan.”

”Oh? News spreads fast.”

”Flattery will get you everywhere.”

Orochimaru’s intelligence-gathering ability was undeniable. It had only been a few days, yet he knew Su Xiao had taken Kakashi’s Sharingan.

”This eye already has a buyer, one willing to pay any price.”

Although trading with Orochimaru wasn’t a bad choice, Obito was wealthier. That guy inherited Madara’s legacy, something Orochimaru couldn’t compare to.

Rejected by Su Xiao, Orochimaru’s eyes narrowed, seeming to consider forcefully taking it.

”I advise you to abandon your current thinking, because while I can’t kill you, I can certainly slice you apart repeatedly.”

Su Xiao continued munching on the apple, looking relaxed.

”Hehe, if Mister Bai Ye isn’t willing to trade, never mind. But... you seem to be waiting for someone, having waited three days.”

”Yes.”

Su Xiao nodded, discarding the apple core and pulling another apple from his pocket. The apples in the Naruto World were quite delicious.

”This is my territory; if you’re looking for someone, why don’t you let me know?”

Orochimaru still seemed fixated on that Sharingan. Kakashi’s Sharingan was unlike the others, something Orochimaru might have long noticed.

Furthermore, having been instantaneously defeated by Itachi, Orochimaru had an almost obsessive fascination with the Uchiha bloodline.

”I don’t mind telling you; the person I’m looking for is around thirty, has a scar on his face and...”

”One of his eyes is blind.”

Before Su Xiao could finish, Orochimaru had already described the other features of the violator.

”To be precise, it’s not blind, but transplanted with a special organ, right, Mister Bai Ye?”

Su Xiao stood up, tossing aside the half-eaten apple.

”So, you have him?”

”Yes, captured five days ago, sacrificing dozens of my subordinates in the process.”

The violator Su Xiao had been tirelessly searching for was actually in Orochimaru’s hands, which made sense. That violator might have been targeting Orochimaru’s lab, waiting for Orochimaru’s death.

But this was Orochimaru’s territory, and since Orochimaru hadn’t been killed by Er Zhuzi yet, that violator was caught by Orochimaru.

”Are we ready to trade now, Mister Bai Ye?”

Orochimaru felt he had the upper hand, but he didn’t notice the subtle shift in Su Xiao’s gaze.

”Sure... we can trade.”

As Su Xiao spoke, the earth beneath Dou exploded with a bang.

Boom!

Though not particularly powerful, the blast staggered Dou. As he prepared to jump away, several white serpents formed by Alchemy Bombs emerged from the ground beneath him, quickly coiling around his legs. In less than a second, a serpent wound around his neck.

”You’ve seen Deidara’s explosive clay, right? This stuff is similar.”

Dou, who was just about to act, stopped immediately. If these serpents exploded, he would be blown to bits.

Orochimaru’s face was as dark as water. Dou was crucial to him, as his arms’ souls were sealed by the Third, relying entirely on Dou’s medicines to sustain him.

”The trade is simple: exchange this man’s life for your subordinate’s. You think I’m blind that you’ve been watching me for three days?”

Orochimaru harbored ill intentions because Dou had been monitoring the area for three days. Initially, Su Xiao didn’t want to cause any more trouble since Orochimaru was the local big shot.

But who would’ve thought these two became greedy, revealing themselves when they learned Su Xiao had a Sharingan, attempting to ’trade’ with him.

Su Xiao didn’t much trust trades with Orochimaru. Dou was a double agent, and Orochimaru was both a Konoha traitor and a rogue of the Akatsuki.

Orochimaru was indeed science-driven, yet he was also someone who resorted to any means for eternal life, possibly sacrificing the lives of thousands, even tens of thousands for experiments. Can such a person be trusted?

Su Xiao only saw himself as an evil man, not a trustworthy person; Orochimaru was similar to him, which was why he didn’t trust him. It was that simple.

”Seems like Mister Bai Ye misunderstood. That person can be given to you, but I’ll decide the trade location...”

Before Orochimaru could finish, Su Xiao pulled the Boundary Line, slicing off one of Dou’s ears. Dou winced and clenched his teeth, unable to move. He was thoroughly entangled by the Boundary Line.

”Next time, it’ll be your hand.”

The smile vanished from Orochimaru’s face. A kunai appeared in his hand, which he threw, aiming straight for Dou’s heart.

Thud.

The kunai pierced through Dou, who barely turned to avoid a fatal spot.

”Even though he’s very important to me, Mister Bai Ye should know, I have plenty of such subordinates.”

Orochimaru’s ruthlessness was evident.

”Oh? Then just kill him.”

Su Xiao tightened the Boundary Line, ready to cut Dou into dozens of pieces.

”Wait.”

Orochimaru spoke up, his gaze fixed intently on Su Xiao.

”The person can be given to you, but you must also offer something equivalent.”

Su Xiao nodded; this was the proper attitude for a trade. Previously, Orochimaru had been trying to eat him out of house and home.

”How about the Blood of Tailed Beast?”

”Blood of Tailed Beast? How could a Tailed Beast have blood?”
