Chapter 569: Chapter 57: Do Not Eat Me

Old Purple sensed a chill from behind, clasped his hands together, and his whole body was covered with Chakra Tail Beast Clothes. Four tails attempted to block Su Xiao’s cleave.

Clang.

The dark red Tailed Beast Cloak was instantly sliced through, and Old Purple, who had confidently turned to face Kisame, was full of astonishment.

Splurt.

Blood splattered as Su Xiao’s blade sliced across Old Purple’s back, leaving a fierce knife wound, through which a glimpse of the pale spine could be seen.

Old Purple was a perception ninja, so he didn’t sense any chakra within Su Xiao, only assuming Su Xiao was skilled in sword techniques, which cost Old Purple dearly.

Old Purple leaned forward, Blue Steel Shadow Energy infused into his body, and his face was filled with pain.

Whoosh~

The sound of a cutting wind came, as Kisame swung his Samehada towards Old Purple.

With a bang, Samehada struck Old Purple’s abdomen, absorbing a large amount of chakra. The sword trembled excitedly, clearly growing in size.

”Oh? To make Samehada this excited, it seems it really likes your chakra.”

With a ripping sound, the bandages wrapped around Samehada were pierced, revealing sharp black spikes.

Old Purple hovered in mid-air, and instinctively formed seals with his hands.

”Melting Shield...”

”Crow.”

Old Purple’s ninjutsu hadn’t yet been used, when at a distance, Itachi had already transformed into a flock of crows.

”Illusion Technique!”

The Four-Tails inside Old Purple immediately released a large amount of chakra, disrupting the chakra structure inside Old Purple, causing the illusion to break automatically.

Jinchuriki have a natural advantage of not being affected by most illusion techniques, of course, this is related to the strength of the technique. If the illusion is too strong, even a Jinchuriki can’t break it.

Itachi’s illusion technique was clearly very strong. Just as Old Purple thought he had broken free, a large flock of crows rushed at him.

In reality, there were no crows. Old Purple stood dazed and immobile in everyone’s sight, hands fixed in a seal position.

If one looked closely into Itachi’s eyes, they would notice his Sharingan had taken the form of a Mangekyo.

Taking advantage of Itachi controlling Old Purple for a moment, Su Xiao rushed forward, blue smoke rising from his left hand, and grabbed Old Purple’s nape directly.

Blue smoke swirled, and a strong suction appeared as Su Xiao ran the Core of Devour at full force.

Itachi and Kisame were still nearby, so the speed of absorbing the Tailed Beast Chakra had to be fast.

A large amount of Tailed Beast Chakra poured into Su Xiao’s body. Both Kisame and Itachi witnessed it but didn’t stop him, as Samehada had previously absorbed Tailed Beast Chakra as well.

”Who are you!!”

A roar, heard only by Su Xiao, echoed, it was the voice of the Four-Tails.

Su Xiao ignored the voice, and just as the Four-Tails was about to roar again, a kind of blue smoke enveloped it.

The Four-Tails tried to struggle, but unfortunately, the blue smoke wrapped it so tightly it couldn’t move an inch.

The Tailed Beast Chakra that Su Xiao absorbed was stored in the energy orb near his heart. As soon as it entered the orb, it began converting into colorless energy.

As soon as the colorless energy appeared within him, the Blue Steel Shadow Energy in his body became active, almost instantly engulfing this colorless energy, devouring it, and then began to grow stronger.

[Due to absorbing energy converted by the Core of Devour, Blue Steel Shadow level increased.]

At this moment, the Four-Tails within Old Purple was enveloped in blue smoke, leaving only its head exposed, its expression somewhat bewildered.

”I was actually having my chakra absorbed by a human? No, this is absorbing my Origin Power!”

The Four-Tails, unlike the One-Tail, didn’t plead, only struggled relentlessly, attempting to break free from the bind of the blue smoke.

Old Purple’s eyes suddenly widened with anger as he broke free of Itachi’s illusion, yet he couldn’t even speak now.

Old Purple’s strength was not weak, but that was relative. In the original story, Kisame single-handedly dealt with Old Purple, and now, Old Purple faced a three-man assault.

Su Xiao was responsible for close combat suppression, Kisame blocked Old Purple’s attacks head-on, using Water Jutsu to counter his Melting Shield, and Itachi sought opportunities to use illusions on Old Purple.

If they were near the Lava Lake in the center of the Great River Valley, Old Purple might have resisted for a while, but he was too confident in his own strength, which led him to approach the three of them actively.

Old Purple’s long-term training had left him ignorant of the outside world. He wasn’t aware of an organization like Akatsuki nor did he understand much about Su Xiao and the others. In the Land of Earth, he rarely met opponents, and over time confidence turned into arrogance.

Under the siege of Su Xiao as close combat (Su Xiao), tank (Kisame), and support with long-range firepower (Itachi), Old Purple was defeated before he could truly show his strength.

If the three had struggled against a single Four-Tail Jinchuriki, that would indeed be unimaginable.

Several seconds later, Su Xiao’s eyes turned pale blue, and Shinfuru, who was hiding to the side, hugged her shoulders, body slightly trembling.

”What is this feeling, this isn’t something humans can achieve anymore.”

Shinfuru murmured softly as Su Xiao’s pale blue eyes suddenly glanced at her.

”Delicious thing.”

”Eh?”

Shinfuru’s throat went dry, eyes filled with terror.

Due to the large amount of Tailed Beast Chakra devoured, it seemed a blue flame rose within Su Xiao’s heart.

[Blue Steel Shadow has increased to Lv.25.]

[Blue Steel Shadow has increased to Lv.26.]

By this time, the Four-Tails’ true form was already emaciated, the light in its eyes beginning to dim, it was about to die.

”Bai Ye, Bai Ye!”

Itachi shouted twice, his Mangekyo Sharingan fixed on Su Xiao, he felt that Su Xiao was dangerous now.

The blue glow in Su Xiao’s eyes gradually faded as he suppressed the greedy desire fiercely; he must not let that desire drive him.

A moment later, Su Xiao released Old Purple, who fell to the ground with a thud.

A faint scorching smell reached him as Su Xiao, regaining consciousness, glanced at his left hand, the surface of the metal bracer red hot. The hand inside was severely burned, almost to the extent of numbness.

Old Purple had used a defensive ninjutsu earlier, raising his body surface temperature, and Su Xiao’s hand was severely burned.

Although his hand was badly burned, he gained a lot, with Blue Steel Shadow improving by 6 levels. It’s worth noting that each level above Lv.20 costs 10 Soul Crystals (Medium) and 5000 Paradise coins.

Thankfully, the Core of Devour Ability made it possible, otherwise upgrading the Blue Steel Shadow and Sword Technique Master would have bankrupted Su Xiao.

Numbness spread from his left hand, causing Su Xiao to frown; this would affect his combat abilities.

Kisame stepped forward, confirmed that Old Purple couldn’t resist, and used Samehada to lift Old Purple onto his shoulder.

”Progress went very smoothly, but the Jinchuriki is quite injured.”

The knife wound on Old Purple’s back was alarming, losing blood rapidly.

”With a Jinchuriki’s life energy, such an injury won’t be fatal, just a simple bandage will suffice.”

While Kisame and Itachi dealt with Old Purple, Su Xiao walked toward Shinfuru. His left hand was severely burned, but Shinfuru happened to have healing ability.

”It seems bringing you was the right choice.”

As Su Xiao approached Shinfuru, she was already terrified of him, retreating slowly.

”W-what do you want to do.”

”Your chakra feels very special to me, it might help me recover from my injuries.”

Su Xiao raised his left arm, and Shinfuru recalled the scene of Old Purple’s massive chakra loss earlier.

”Don’t ’eat me’, just bite me will do.”
